- Hey guys and thanks for coming back for this weeks episode. The Austrian Grand Prix promised drama as a sprint weekend and it absolutely delivered. With some drivers successfully redeeming themselves while others fell the opposite way. The race reached its boiling point when a collision occurred between the race leaders, Verstappen and Norris, resulting in a Lando DNF. Hope you enjoy.

I am with you on the mid field battle. The last 10 laps MAG-RIC-GAS fighting, was epic.
35:00 Max did not make a mistake, that brake smoke was because of the cold tires he had just pitted. He was driving above the car limits on every corner.
Edit: Telemetry shows MAX didn't move under braking, what about this FIA? Now what? do you apologize?
Can anyone here provide proof that Max actually changed his line under braking? Or did he simply brake his car diagonally to the racing line? Max has a different "racing apex" in the corner than Lando - MAx has short corners where as Lando drives long corners. Also Lando stayed on track with all four wheels to do exactly what - crash into his opponent?
It's visible in the video. It's not a different apex, his racing line changes in a way that the laws of physics dictates can't happen unless it's deliberate.
@@arglebargle5531 that was explained by Peter Windsor, the curve is slanted, and by the camera angle you think he moved, but in fact, he goes straight, telemetry shows he didn't move to the left not a millimeter, and if Lando was trying a cut by gaining the traction, he CHOSE not to go out of the track and colided with Verstappen rear left. He was DRS-divebombing like hell, and he missed the brakepoint by a few meters. Max was defending, what in the hell people think he should do? let Lando "just pass"?
50/50 guilty sharing there.
@@arglebargle5531 I am not sure how the breaking is seen in the video.
Slow motion replay shows hes moving in to cover the Lando inside run but Lando stays on the outside then inside the 100m mark he moves back into him.
He knew Lando was already having issues with track limits and tried to drive him off the track. He clearly did not give him a cars width space and Lando held his line enough to stay ontrack which screwed Max and Lando with the inevitable contact.
If you believe Max was oblivious tgen you are deluding yourself. Max knows EXACTLY what he is doing at any moment in race .. pleading ignorance is not a Max excuse you should ever believe ..
11:00 Austria was the 11th race of the season and the the inter team battle currently stands at 6 to Yuki & 5 to Daniel
6 to 4 Yuki
Great little pod :)
The Ferrari tried the big brain 4 box strat lol. Poor Charles ..
The Final Chicane With Cristin Boylan....and this podcast will blow up.
Only just saw that Perez had damage early on in the race, not a bad recovery drive considering!
Who did you interview at RB?
Isn't the Austrian national anthem playing each RB race win? For the constructor's trophy 🤔
@@bardust the version Hans Zimmer did sounded completely different, I wouldn’t have recognised it out of context
@@CristinBoylan ah. Never saw the pre-race show and didn't catch that it was a different rendition she talked about. My bad for listening with only half an ear...

@21:00 ish, I disagree with your take on sprint races.
I have to agree it doesn’t tell you everything it doesn’t tell you what will happen during the race but it gives general ideas about the car and drivers ability on the track.
We knew McLaren were faster this weekend than redbull in race pace as long as they’re in clean air.
But of course pit stop mistakes race penalties and driver mistakes make all the difference. So there is still a good chance.
We could tell Perez wasn’t comfortable at all here this weekend. We could also tell McLaren were actually very quick.
So while we don’t know exacl how the race will go we have general guidelines on how it will go.
Lando is not the guy that will dethrone Max .. Max will break him. Hes already backed down from the post race statements he made about Max ..
Piastry will be the guy that beats Max. Lando is fast and is talented yes .. but so is Oscar .. but the difference is Oscar is the smarter driver and isn't everyone's friend .. give him time
Lets be real .. if Oscar had luck he should have had 2 wins by now if not 3.
agreed! only i would argue that Oscar doesn't need luck. He needs McLaren to not favor Lando so much. Oscar is a silent ninja. Cool, calm, great driving IQ and emotionally (stunted or mature) Even after team hurts him, he stays calm and collected. He will silently await his moment and strike at first real opportunity
listen to Peter Windsor, one of the few objective voices here.
People say Max has matured after 3 WC's ..
Its easy to be mature when youre finishing a minute ahead of 2nd place every race and you can spend 50 secs on 3 pit stops and still be 10 secs ahead ..
That aint the case now that McLaren are competitive and we're seeing the old "mature" Max ..
Oh, be careful interviewing redbull. Dont let horndog get you 😅
