This particular type of cupcake is nothing new, ice cream cone cupcakes have been around for quite a while. Perfect for a birthday party. They are super fun and simple to make if I can do it.     Ingredients:
    1 standard cake recipe or cake mix along with ingredients to make it
    32 oz frosting (depends on how much you put on each cupcake cone)
    24 standard ice cream cones
    Sprinkles, optional
    Tools:
    Piping bag with star tip, optional
    Plastic bag, instead of piping bag
    Scissors
    Muffin pan or 13x9-inch baking pan, or sheet pan
    Bowl

    My mum has been making this since I was 12 and I’m 42 now…they were hit when I was school. She never shared how she did it and I just thought it was baking magic. I got the recipe now!

    Great idea for kids of all ages. No plates/utensils needed. You can put rice/lentils used for blind baking in bottom of tins. Just an idea. Stop tipping & scorching of bases.

      Thank you!! :) If you have other ice cream cones you may be able to use those. These are so common here in the States, pretty much every grocery store sells these ice cream cones.

    Hint. I use a ice cream scoop it’s so easy that way.. I find that scoop does a lot of things useful

      No, keep it at room temp in an air tight container. It will get too soft and soggy in the fridge.

      You are welcome! You would need some sort of box like a cardboard box with holes in it to fit the small part of the cone, and it would be about 2 inches high.

    How easily would the cone peel away from the cake? Looking to make princess cake pops and wondering if this would work for the skirt.

      It doesn't really, it sticks to the inside of the cone pretty well.

    Thanks for the viseo. I was wondering how to wrap these at the bottom for those who is cleanliness freak like me? Something like cupcake liners. I do not like to serve the food that was touched before.

      First make sure you are wearing food prep gloves. Then you won't be touching the cones at all. You can wrap the bottom parts of the cones with plastic wrap after they have baked and cooled. Cupcake liners will work as well, if you want to put them in the cupcake pan when they are baking.

      Hello, store them at room temp. Ideally with plastic wrap or something over them.

    How long does they stay crisp?

      The longer they sit the softer the cones will get. They are best eaten the first day, but will last a few days at room temp.

      Swap the eggs for 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt or 1/2 cup Unsweetened applesauce.

    The batter would be easier for filling cones if it was in a jug and just pour in much quicker

      Then do that, you can fill them however you want. But then you would have to clean up another container. They fill up fine the way I showed them and are super easy that way. But yes if you don't mind cleaning more stuff, pour the batter into a pitcher or liquid measuring cup with a spout and just pour it in.

      The cake is moist and soft, the cone won't stay crispy.

    My mom bought few things for my small business (bakeshop), sadly one thing is missing and we ran out of funds 😢 badly need an oven (secondhand oven is a wonderful blessing). I'm a chef and baker.       Because the oven isn't set to a hot enough temp to burn them.

    My mother made these but the cones did not stay crispy, they were chewy. They were tasty, but the chewy cones were disappointing.

      Yes that can happen if not eaten fairly soon after making them, depending on the cake that is use. Dryer cakes won't be as bad. Moist cakes definitely can cause that to happen.
