John Stowell is a treasure. His conception and ability is staggering. Everything he plays is tempered by a curiosity and a modesty that is the mark of a true master. Thank you for sharing this incredible video.

A genuine rare talent, Such a beautiful thing to see a musician connect to the music to the extent that they are the music.

Absolutely incredible interview and playing! I was most amazed by what John had to say. Very philosophical!!! Surprisingly not just an interview about music but in some moments he talks about life different cultures , life in general. Etc. 😊

Playing with John is such an experience, he gets you inside his bubble and you find yourself into sounds you never imagine before. He is fantastic. Looking forward to play with him again very soon.

Love your playing John and love hearing about Linc. I studied with him in the late 70's and use to go see him at Rapsons.

Damn that's a strange looking guitar and why is that fret board so shinny? And doesn't his neck get sore from having it turned at a 90 degree angle all the time?

    • @jazzguitartoday

You would have to ask him...

It seems like he has put a lot of thought into his playing posture, or has developed naturally a posture which is suited to good body mechanics and avoiding strain; I mean his technique is flawless either way.

@ronanvaughan3016 I wish I could play in that up right posture, it would allow me to get better right hand stretches but my neck gets sore.
