    "And everybody knows he's ready to fire on the first one. Bases loaded. Young... SWINGS! LINE DRIVE! THAT IS DOWN, AND TO THE WALL! CRUZ IS IN! PEARCE IS IN! HARDY AROUND THIRD! HE'S GONNA TRY TO SCORE! AND...SAFE!! THE ORIOLES HAVE THE LEAD!!!"
    This may be, and it probably is, the most dramatic and thrilling hit in recent MLB history.

    • @Monisrocks1995
      @Monisrocks1995 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sean Brower Not in MLB history. Maybe just O's history. It isn't that big because they couldn't win it all

    • @seanbrower6738
      @seanbrower6738 9 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Monisrocks1995 Maybe so, but still, it helped lead them to their first ALCS in near 2 decades. And with a team that's controlled by a cheapass owner, that's remarkable, though yes, it was very sad with how easily they were knocked out, despite that first game.

    • @tranceofdances
      @tranceofdances 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Sean Brower I believe we chatted on another vid of this before....I am watching these because, it is looking more and more like it's going to be the only enjoyable thing of the O's to watch for a while because of said cheapass owner. On the other vid, I made the comment that, letting Cruz, Kakes, and Miller go was a bad idea...and trying to win with a buncha bargain basement "replacements" wouldn't work....it's looking like i was very right. Not that I am happy about it....

    • @seanbrower6738
      @seanbrower6738 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      tranceofdances And you are correct. The ugly truth is, Peter Devilos is going to be the Orioles owner, until the day he dies. Personally, I find him to be not only a shitty owner, but an ethically questionable lawyer and person, as well.

    Clearly remember the roar from Camden when Joba came in because he blew the previous game. He tipped his cap to some fans in the front row who were heckling him. Only to blow the game again! The entire section was tipping their caps when he got yanked! My favorite memory at Camden

    I have loved the Orioles since I was a little boy, watching the legendary teams of the late 1960s and early 1970s! This video clip is one of the great Orioles moments of all time. Goosebumps? I get them AND a chill down my spine when Delmon Young smacks the strong double and the crowd erupts in glee. It is one of the best scenes of my life.

  • @teamhelman6144

    I was listening to this game while milking cows at work. 😂 Then I was flying home to watch the end of the game when Delmon hit that ball. I went past my aunts house screaming with my arm out the window and she called my mom thinking something was wrong. 😂 I miss this because for only a short span in my life the Orioles were good..

    That was the loudest I have ever heard Camden Yards in my life. I really believe we had the team to win the world series in 2014. We had the right mix of veteran guys with young guys. We had the best closer in baseball at the time in Andrew Miller, if Chris Davis doesnt get suspended for the last 26 games of that season, I really believe we win the championship and guys like Adam Jones, still remain an Oriole right now. But what do I know..

    • @Ericunfilterd
      @Ericunfilterd 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It hurt my heart to see it all unravel and we missed out on keeping AJ and others because we gave Chris Davis this contract which handicapped us what a shame he has become Hes not only not hitting but he can’t field apparently now he’s costing us games even today!
