The fact you plug the "in" with "out" is not coming from an issue in this "not branded Chinese" device. It is simply normal, as it indicates the direction of the sound. Tje "in" indicated in the cable is where the sound is coming from midi to USB. So, it is normal to plug this to the out of your source.

I also started to use vpmk however it only recognizes the new key press for every couple of seconds. Is there any change that is required in the MIDI set up that you know please?

We should be able to use it but since I have not used FL Studio I cannot confirm you on it. Probably you can try Google to check on how to integrate with MIDI controller with FL studio
There is a delay definitely , i stopped using the midi interface in this keyboard due to this. instead i take the headphones out and put it as in for my computer

Nahhh my computer is fine, it's just that usb midi thing sucks. The quality is so random some of them work and the other not. I was just unlucky to get one of them that doesn't work

Maybe you interchanged the midi in and out plugs to the keyboard's midi ports. He said that midi in-plug must be inserted into midi out-port. If you did this but you experiences the same as you have said, maybe try to interchange them again. And maybe he's the one who gave the wrong information.😆
