I will be redoing this video soon, for this is for an older version of obs and is only somewhat valid, but requiring alot of reconfiguring, sorry for any confusion :)
my biggest issue is audio. my stand alone mic is too quiet when im recording vr but my headset mic doestn sound good. any recommendations? is the quest 2 mic good enough to recor decently clear audio?
@@JonBoviNotReal my experience with the quest 2 mic is that it's one of the best out there as far as VR mics go, give it a shot and see if the video comes out with decently clear audio. I'm currently wanting to buy a lav mic system and that will be one of the use cases I'll test it for
@@MadMaxJoe in this video I showed how to setup a scene for a VR as when u open a game it shows it on the main screen. I didn't turn on my VR as I didn't have the quest 2 with me at the time of recording.
It should show up in the options for mic inputs. If not than something may not be getting recognized by your computer in which I would check to make sure everything is connected properly. I'm going to redo this video soon for the newer version of obs if that helps
@@buttler41_yt I can't believe somebody actually noticed this lol, it's somewhere in control panel that you can put a custom one in the properties of either clock or something on the taskbar
Oh I figured out this issue btw. You can use a software like voicemeeter banana and have it go through there, then it will work for multiple outputs the only exception is discord.
Completely lost me on the audio portion. Trying to record my external microphone on video while talking to my friend on VR with my VR mic. Don’t want the vr mic in the recording though.
Oh I get what your saying, so basically where u set a microphone to be the one recording in your sources tab on obs, you want to set your external microphone as the designated mic and then in game/discord u set your VR mic to be the default. If the game that you are playing doesn't have settings to choose a specific mic, go into windows settings and set the VR mic to your default. I hope this clears up your confusion, good luck :)
Updated Video has been added focusing on the settings portion of OBS th-cam.com/video/t-cu14rfatE/w-d-xo.html

I look forward to your new video
Thx you my friend!! it's works, there is no video on TH-cam that explains it as clearly and detailed as you, most focus on streaming

can you make a video for obs studio evrything so difrent now
Sorry about the late response but I will make one in the near future
I just made a new one about the settings as I found this area of OBS changed ALOT, th-cam.com/video/t-cu14rfatE/w-d-xo.html
every time i use obs my voice sounds robotic af, but only using my quest, not using my regular mic
(my bad on the late response I haven't had time to do anything with this channel in a hot minute) Are you using air link or a link cable?
I can’t hear my self and I can’t speak on my pcvr?
Wydm by "can't hear yourself"?
It's works, maybe something in you config is bad.
Was that an Audio capture tutorial, nothing was related to VR gamjng capture, he ridn t even bother turning on his VR headset

THANK YOU SO MUCH
is there a way to add keybinds to ur controller?
I've never experimented with that so I'm not sure, if it's possible you would have to bind it in the keybinds section of obs
openvr2key
Are you using a oculus link cable?
I use these same settings with a link cable on my quest 2, and with my rift S
How do you get the oculus mic to show up?
It should show up in the options for mic inputs. If not than something may not be getting recognized by your computer in which I would check to make sure everything is connected properly. I'm going to redo this video soon for the newer version of obs if that helps

@@WMRV helped out a lot thank you so much! 🙏
I think you should take a nap before making this unclear video...
Not unclear, just for an older version of obs, so stuff isn't the same anymore. No need to hate :)
this video did not help one bit very confusing
If it was the settings portion I do apologize, I uploaded a new video just focusing on the settings, th-cam.com/video/t-cu14rfatE/w-d-xo.html
