definetly best, motivated, professional, quality orientated painter that I have ever seen. Love your work!
Thank you so much 😀
There is no better painter than Kandy Man.
Great tvideo as always, I'm a hobbiest body guy doing restorations. I wish the guys who fixed my kids cars followed you, because they suck and could learn alot from you.
100% agree, coming from the owner of a ‘23 Soul Crystal Red CX-5. What a glorious color!
Kandy Man
Another great video
It’s great showing us the whole process on color match on this vehicle
especially since I use Envirobase myself
Helps tremendously !!
Thanks again for doing the great and very informative videos for all of us !!!
Great video brother. I am a retired painter after 42 years in the trade and it is amazing to see the way the products have changed. I have shot water before I retired but never shot any of the mid coat mixed into the clear. I always learn some new trick or see a new product when I watch your videos. Never to old to learn keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching
Wow that color never gets old. Keep on doing what you do best. Kandy Man. One of the best channels on TH-cam. Love the content!
I appreciate that!
Another great video Kandy Man you are a true professional with superb knowledge 👏👏
I live in Japan and I see so many Mazdas in this color. I saw two different Miatas in it and one of those small crossovers. It’s crazy that it’s a color from a budget car company.
Once again your knowledge is on the Top.... Thank you friend for this explanation!
Candyman strikes again🔥
Without a good paint vendor , I am a Axalta guy, some of these colors would bankrupt you trying to find the right variance...excellent video
Thanks for the info
Very very good expert painting. The detail, quality, and expertise.
Even down to blending the clear on the back part of the fender to "melt it in" To the "mid coat" To give it a seemless transition is nice. A lot of guys dont do this step, but give it a few months in the sun, let it shrink back and you will see the guys who do and don't take these steps.
👊👊
Fantastic finish with the 46V Kandy Man it was interesting to see how you matched the colour and to see it being done on the PC, in my system there are 10 different variants plus the mid coat is a tinted clear basecoat but not like yours which is a tinted clearcoat, I don't know if one way is better than the other but I've done the 46V and it turned out great👌👍John UK
Great Work again Kandy Man 👍👍Love the way you sort out the colour ❤️❤️Very Professionell 👍👍
Thanks so much 😊
Beautiful job!
We have a VE Holden Calais colour over here in Australia that comes pretty close to this Mazda colour. Makes blending tougher to get it right.
Great video !
Thank you
Keeping a color library of every color sprayed helps.
👍
Great explanation. It would be great if you showed the reassembled car outside in the sunlight.
How did it look on the vehicle? Great video
Good to see you get time for the fine lining on a bumper. I’m in Saskatchewan,Canada and we use Mitchell as our estimation guide and they say that it’s included in the refinish times. We used to get it, but they took it away about 7 years ago. Just curious how much time you get for it 0.5ish?
Nice what song was that you were playing
Holy crap. Amazing.
i have a mx5 to do a corner blend on the rear cover
Nice..🔥🔥🔥
Wana know in ppg the layer. 2 use hardner 1:49 1:51
Yes
What kind of gun do you use for the base and clear? Keep the videos coming!
3m performance for the base dv1 for kandy and clear
@@kandyman5315 hey maestro may I have your opinion on buying a SATA 5500 CC with a 1.3 i clear gun or a Exodus with a 1.5. Which would you prefer? Thanks for your input
Very informative..Did you get a shot of the completed car, did it match well?
Will do
Great work, what part of Florida are you in?
Tampa area
Thank u
Welcome
Mazda does have the best OEM red! I can bet it is tough to match and expensive.
Wish me luck have my first 46v in the paint shop
🙌🙌👊
Which one is better, the candy that is mixed with the clear or the mid paint that is applied between base coat and clear? I’ve seen these two types in stores, but I don’t know how different they are
In the clear, it has more depth and longevity
How do you stop the fine scratch’s on a candy paint job even using a micro fibre cloth
Spray shine
@@kandyman5315 ok thanks mate I’ll give it a go have a great day 👍👍
Awesome job man I personally haven’t sprayed this color for a customer yet. Only at the PPG training training center. But I wanted to ask for some advice Kandy Man I have recently switched shops. My old shop had a full downdraft and now this had a semi down draft. I’m not too familiar spraying in these booths and my paint jobs have been coming a bit more dirty then normal then a having a few nibs here and there but I been struggling about this. Any help to stop me from buffing so much 😢. Any help would be appreciate it. 😊
You could always water the floor and squeegee it all out , or you could blow the dirt on the floor towards the filters but keep the dirt on the floor and not the air .
I learned on cross draft booths and honestly hardly ever get dirt nibs , but I also squeegee my booth once a week
When doing a blend , keep the repair panel towards the filter so over spray does not go onto the blend panel
Hopefully it's a positive pressure booth. But you need to go old school since that booth is basically the same as the old cross flow booths that pull across the car. If the shop doesn't have dirt traps for the floor and walls of the booth you can just wet the floor down to help keep the dust down. Another trick is before you put your last coat of base on you can go over the panel with some 1500 or 2000 to knock any nibs out before you clear.
Booth makes a big difference
Killer looking blend. Details of blending the base coat and the candy coat would have been nice. (the clear to melt the last candy blend was a great tip.)
But it looks like you just knocked it out with "standard" blend techniques. Many other painters on this color obsess over this area on the 2 color blends- you made it look fairly easy. Sort of like just doing a 3 stage pearl job. Base, blend; candy/pearl, blend further; and then clear it. Right?
👍
I have some HOK candy apple red and clear coat. Do you suppose I could just get some type of similar copper/bronze pearl basecoat and get a similar result?
Yes
@@kandyman5315 Again, thanks.
how long do you want for the dust to settle before doing a final tack?
5 minutes
I got lost when you plug your computer 😅
How long is your candy clear good for before it starts setting up?
Same as normal clear
How much for a cobalt blue with silver paint job cost?
Have to see for a real estimate
Who does a potentially close job to what you do here in California? Do you know?
Sorry not familiar with California shops
@@kandyman5315 no worries! Thanks for the reply!
how about mazda 51K ?
Funny, you ask, just did one last week. Weird color did a spray out, took 5 coats of pearl, and ended up looking good
How much psi are you turning it down on the control coat and what was the psi of your gun?
18 psi, then 12 psi
