I went and saw tool in 2022. I did 12 years in prison. This song embodies my whole existence. From being In the worst of worst to the narcotics. How many times I had to go back to the Bing or go back and get the help I need for the dope. I had so many friends die this year... when that boy says " help me survive the bottom." Brings me instantly to tears. Be strong everyone. You are not alone.
Musically, I love how the song mainly revolves around 7/4, and then changes to 4/4 in the final verse. It's like the protagonist is finally accepting that he wants to actually live, and is done internally debating with himself.
Whole album start to finish is insanely deep. You open with "The package" where he is saying he will lie cheat and steal to get his fix and doesnt care who he hurts in the process. You go into "Weak and Powerless" and songs like Blue (The overdose) Then the later part of the album is the recovery phase/withdrawal UNREAL!!!!
Heard this when it came out and now it's helping me get through the death of my daughter...it hits right. Listen to it daily now and sometimes more than once...
Being in a bad place mentally and just listening to this whole album on repeat...I don't know if it saved my life, but man did it change some things for me.
Great song. As a regular relapser I can relate to every word in this song. Addiction blows and I still don't have the answer for it. Nor will i(likely outcome). I wish the answer was "I choose to live" cause that would be too easy.
"I choose to live...." 🖤 A good prequel to this would have been The Package, so definitely get to that soon. Next up, Puscifer -- Green Valley or Potions
I said it in the chat, and I'll say it again: this is easily in top 5 favorite APC songs. I think it's definitely their best closing track. Absolutely stunning and beautiful.
@@Hollywood6IX I'm going to list the my top 5 that you haven't yet reacted to. 5.) Eat the Elephant 4.) A Stranger 3.) Sleeping Beauty 2.) Magdalena 1.) The Package
A Perfect Circle and Tool have helped me get through life changing times in my life . This is art and transcends Music , for me this is something that you feel and not only listen too . 🥰
Finally, we get to this song! This is a reaction I'm truly looking forward to seeing! I know Hollywood will love the vibe on this one! See you all there, I'll comment again after the Premiere!
Such a great song!! As a closing track it does a great job of making the album complete. Once you guys get to hear the album from beginning to end it will come together nicely. Can't wait to see the tribe at 530! 🤘❤
I don’t meditate, but this song makes me feel like I am in a meditative trance of some sort. Just complete relaxation and feeling of letting go and let the music takeover.
Been listening to these guys since the beginning. And this is my favorite by them. It just holds so much meaning, and musically takes me somewhere. Thanks for the reaction guys.
This whole cd got me through a severe dark time in my life being older (37) when when this cd hit i could really feel it but the “I choose to live” really hits
This is my song to God when I'm messing up, doing bad or just in a low place to where I need and pray for salvation. Sometimes I just need guidance and direction in life. I don't do drugs but I still drink my beer and when I'm feelings sorry for myself I just drink to not feel and although I know I shouldn't I do because F it but the next day I'm asking God to help be better. This is my song to God. We all fall short sometimes. Don't under estimate the power of prayer and song.
I feel like such a dumbass! I never knew that Maynard not only was the lead singer of this group, but I never knew A perfect circle was considered a supergroup! I never listened to them! If only i would've known.....well, now I do thanks to you guys! Thats why I love y'all man! You've introduced me to so many new awesome groups! Thanks, and keep up the great work!!
The way the lead guitar dances with the beautiful bass riff, blending with the drums, omg! Then Maynard's sweet vocals and dialog, omg, "Orgasm"! This was definitely an "Acid Trip"!
Great reaction, guys! 🙂 This is definitely my favorite album from APC, and is certainly my favorite song by them. Glad you finally got to hear it. Next up for MJK Tuesday should be "Grand Canyon" (and if you can, you really should react to the official video for it; it's a gorgeous video).
My 3 favourite songs by a perfect circle are gravity, orestes and down and by the river. You've done the first 2 so gotta check down and by the river next time you come back to apc
🦋 I Love This Entire Album. Gravity is a Masterpiece Of Music On Many Levels. I Seriously Can't Wait To Watch You Both React To Puscifers' ''Potions'' And A Perfect Circles' '' Rose'' ''Magdalena'' or ''Sleeping Beauty'' Any Of Those Will Be Awesome Reactions. The Lyrics In This Song Hit Hard With So Much Meaning Every Time!
Great definition of a singer's voice Guys. "Using it as an instrument to convey lyrics". Van Morrison always said a singer should use his voice as an instrument.
DEEP as it gets. The person wants to die in order to have another chance at life(surrendering to gravity and the unknown). Heroin addiction(drive another nail) is what renders him like a baby. So sad.
Holy shitballs I did NOT know that Maynard did vocals in A Perfect Circle… known there was a band called that. Damn now I’m gonna have to dive into A Perfect Circle.
My brothers, you hit the nail on the head. The voice is an instrument and can be beautiful. Perfect example...Maynard. Could you guys please react to more ANTHRAX please!!!!! So many great songs from different vocalist eras. A.I.R. Efilnikcufecin(NFL), A Skeleton in the Closet, One World, Keep it in the Family, H8Red, Intro into Reality and Belly of the Beast back to back. Please guys, thank you and keep doing what you're doing my brothers, Love From the Buckeye State!!!!!
I long for the day, after you’ve reacted to this entire album, when you two beautiful jokers can kick it and listen to this album start to finish. Get lost and let your faces melt. Good shit, gents.
I got to see these guys in 04 in Knoxville, TN and they played this song. It was amazing to say the least. Pretty sure I got my first marijuana contact high at that show but it really could have just been the music causing me sensory overload.
This song captivated me when I saw it live... I can't explain that feeling. Had a similar experience when I saw Flood by Tool live. Incredible song. Great reaction, fellas.
I’ve been a tool/apc fan for many years and I just came across this video. Dig your reactions guys also the audio for your video was actually really good. Nice work
#1) This is one of my favorite tracks by APC. Being able to sing along with an entire crowd while seeing them live was definitely an amazing experience. #2) Saito used the Saito suplex which is brutal. I know because I have older brothers that enjoyed trying out various wrestling moves on me.
Gravity was the only song on this album that the entire original band wrote and performed together. I miss hearing Paz and Troy's instrumental voices on future songs, but they had their own paths to go down.

The “if they sold music by the gram” comment made me cackle cause this album is pretty much about addiction, and how the album is arranged pretty much describes the whole journey of using, withdrawal, recovery, relapse, and I believe that The Outsider is from an addicts love one/partner POV; it’s a drop dead gorgeous album. Personally I feel like in some ways it describes my journey with BPD/BP2 and Gravity is just therapeutic for me.
Hi bro's, you love music like i do, music is this thing helps me day and night feel better ! And i better and better every day, u help me, every time i watch and listen u than i lucky and free so nobody can Greatings me, i wanna say thank you very very very much for this gift ! Greatings and love from germany ❤❤❤❤❤❣
Love this track review guys as always. My pics are either puscifer personal Prometheus or APC brenia or tool stranglehold cover or the track tool did with the Melvin's called divorce, that one's crazy yall..Love you guys trash talker for life
"if they sold Music by the Gram" Hollywood, I too would take forty. You guys are the best and I'm on my way to Pucsifer, Chicago JUL02. Corina, I'm coming for you and of course MJK.
This was a pretty good day. 😁😁😁 Everyone who interacted here or on Facebook with me today was awesome. 👋🏻👨🏻🦲👍🏻 🎶 I'll be playing this album as I lay down to sleep tonight. 🥱🥱🥱 I'll be drifting off into a peaceful slumber. 😴😴😴
I used to fall asleep to this song. Fun fact: maynard always wore wigs in performances and videos so he wouldn't get recognized in public, that way when he took his kids to school he they wouldn't be bothered.
i was introduced to this album first and I have some friends that swear on Mer de noms and the correlation seems to be first exposure but dude!!every song on this album is melodic hook after hook after hook. i appreciate Mer but shit...
This song is beautiful ❤️. Thank you for reacting to this. This is my favorite song from 13th Step. Check out Sour Grapes from Puscifer next! Deuces! ✌️
Big time Recovery song. The whole album references addiction - obviously - From Maynard's perspective of watching addiction take hold of, take over, and sadly kill, a lot of his friends, including Layne.
I went and saw tool in 2022. I did 12 years in prison. This song embodies my whole existence. From being In the worst of worst to the narcotics. How many times I had to go back to the Bing or go back and get the help I need for the dope. I had so many friends die this year... when that boy says " help me survive the bottom." Musically, I love how the song mainly revolves around 7/4, and then changes to 4/4 in the final verse. It's like the protagonist is finally accepting that he wants to actually live, and is done internally debating with himself.
Oh wow, never actively noticed that before. That's awesome.
Whole album start to finish is insanely deep. You open with "The package" where he is saying he will lie cheat and steal to get his fix and doesnt care who he hurts in the process.
You go into "Weak and Powerless" and songs like Blue (The overdose)
Then the later part of the album is the recovery phase/withdrawal
UNREAL!!!!
Heard this when it came out and now it's helping me get through the death of my daughter...it hits right. Listen to it daily now and sometimes more than once...
condolences man. I can only imagine the pain.
This track has one of the best BASS LINES EVER. 🤯💯🔥✌
This is beautiful, second only to "The Package". Intense as fuck.
The Noose
Being in a bad place mentally and just listening to this whole album on repeat...I don't know if it saved my life, but man did it change some things for me.
"I choose to live"
What a perfect way to end an album about addiction. I can't find the words to express how well written this album is. Hats off.
That silence says everything. For some reason that moment of silence right after the song ended really made my heart swell. Much loves y'all
Thirteenth Step is an EXCELLENT album to put on to take a nap to.
This whole album is a masterpiece, but this song has to be one of the top three masterpieces on an album full of them.
“I choose to live”!
God knows I can relate to every single word in this song but those are the most powerful to me.
Can’t wait!
That and "please release me"
Damn near brings me to tears everytime. This song is extremly powerful and not to mention beautiful.
The bass on this whole album is just insane...really all of APC.
I have a lot of favorites by them, but this is probably my favorite favorite. The emotions in the song, the lush music, it's just perfection.
Great song. As a regular relapser I can relate to every word in this song. Addiction blows and I still don't have the answer for it. Nor will i(likely outcome). I wish the answer was "I choose to live" cause that would be too easy.
"I choose to live...." 🖤
A good prequel to this would have been The Package, so definitely get to that soon.
Next up, Puscifer -- Green Valley or Potions
Waiting on potions as well
Yes Potions please!
Can’t miss this one! See everyone in the chat.
PC: Magdalena, Puscifer: Grand Canyon, Tool: Spasm Cover
Magdalena.........my favorite APC song...........honorable mention The Package
Yes, Magdalena!
I said it in the chat, and I'll say it again: this is easily in top 5 favorite APC songs. I think it's definitely their best closing track. Absolutely stunning and beautiful.

@@Hollywood6IX I'm going to list the my top 5 that you haven't yet reacted to.
5.) Eat the Elephant
4.) A Stranger
3.) Sleeping Beauty
2.) Magdalena
1.) The Package
Very excited for this one. Beautiful song, but no one seems to react to it.
I'm currently in sobriety again and this song makes me so emotional. It's so relatable to how an addict goes through life.
this song makes my epidermis tingle
This is one of my favorite APC songs. I knew you'd love it.

“If they sold music by the gram, I’d take 40 of these”
Ha quite ironic given the song you just listened to and the whole album in general
A beautiful song about rock bottom and redemption. I listen to this song almost everyday.

I know Hollywood will love the vibe on this one!

This is one of my favorite albums in all the music I listen to. It's amazing all the way thru. I don't skip any songs. It speaks to my heart

Ohh nice! I suggested the Sludge Factory one! Welcome🤘
For some reason I thought you already did this one... Or maybe I suggested it... Who knows... But so happy we are here.
My favorite song off this album. So damn good.
Maynard has an absolutely hypnotizing voice. If you liked this song check out "The Noose" or "Imagine" both brilliant songs.🌹
They did both😉

Yeah I love that this is the last song on the album. Beautiful song and a great ending!

Best song on the album.

“I’ve seen the package a lot too” 😂😂😂. Cheap shot, but sounded funny as fuck Smokey lol

This is the song that should seal the deal. If you're still curious about who the whole album is about, repeat the song. You can ask me too.
