If you change the domain name , then automatically all the urls will be changed. So i guess it will start indexing. Make sure you dont do the same mistake for which your pervious urls got banned.

.htaccess file is required to support redirection from old to new.. keep the ht access for a month..once google has crawled you site..then you can remove..

once your old domain is expired. Just dont reniew it , so if anyone goes to your old domain , the website wont open nor redirect because the old domain has expired. Once your old domain expires , the website wont redirect from old to new because the old domain doen not exist. So if you want redirection for lifetime , you need to keep it. But ideally keep it for few months or a year , let google crawler track the redirection , maintain the seo and then you can remove it. But keep in mind redirection wont be working once your old domain is expired or deactivated.

Apply again with new domain name, only when site is completly shifted. You can track that from google search console.

no need to watch any othr video.see the step 3. I have explained it. You need to update your google search console with your custom domain. Thats it.
I am sseing that wordpress is intalled on your new domain. Is this necessary to install Wordpress on new domain before importing old domain files?

Once domain is expired , your redirection will fail anyway. It takes some time for crawler so anlyse your transferred website.
