Not much , he died while i was very young ,so dont remember much else beside what at home and little neighbors said.
heard from a couple of neighbors which was there also, and in book that wrote about thst and much else. They had some Winterwar vets with them that showed them to make improvised hand grenades out of tin cans and such. And a forward raid he had been on, into the improvised timber cut down positions to see what could be found out during one night. Things happend and grenades thrown as part of it ,bits and pieces as results of germans .
It was part of covering the other valley side of road where King and Gov was moving up to from Oslo, as the encirclement was tried one had to stop the pronghorned (?? ) movement of German to prevent the relocation of King and Gov to succeed.

7mm Mauser is a great cartridge. It really shook up the military world when it came out. It stung the British army badly in the Boer wars in Africa. Its also one excellent hunting cartridge for deer sized game animals and has been used with regular success on much larger animals by many skilled shooters. The old Madsen here seemed like a fun chatterbox to play with. It probably saw some exotic and interesting service locations during that era.

    • @conroypawgmail

It stung us Americans as well in the Spanish American War (1900). It pretty much convinced us to give up on the Krag and come up with something more powerful.
I agree, it is an excellent cartridge, especially for its day. Flat shooting with modest recoil when shot from a Mauser action rifle or a Remington Rolling Block, it is always a favorite to take to the range.

Denmark was neutral during WW1 and didn’t really ship these LMGs. Although it did inspire many future LMGs such as the Bren

I grew up hunting with a
7×57 Mauser, it was the most accurate rifle I have ever shot. Dropped an Elk with it. Never knew it was used in a machine gun capacity.

This is surprisingly advanced looking compared to Lewis, MG08/15 or the Chauchat. Almost like it was designed in the 1920s.

This weapon is still used today by the Brazilian military police, as it is a machine gun that uses a battle cartridge, the shot has a very intimidating sound.

Mae is special. So competent and cute too. Imagine having her on your homestead wagon train in the wild west. She would do to ride the river with. Probably cooks over an open fire just as easy as she lays down effective cover fire. Keep these videos coming.

She checks her sources, she checks her breech, she checks her targets. No matter what kind of SHTF situation you could be in, she'd be great to have in your corner.
