A few years ago i was going to go to the academy. Had all the paperwork and they even called me asking me if i still wanted to go.. I decided to go a different way... Some of my friends growing up became State Troopers. I have respect for their code, and what they go through. I am man enough to know, it's just not for me. Not so much the physical stuff, but the mental part. The stress. Respect!
Every state thinks there state police academy is the hardest and most demanding......I am trooper in the mid-Atlantic region and the truth is they are all physically and mentally demanding. One isn't any easier than the other. Whether your state has state police or highway patrol or state patrol when graduate and become the rank of trooper you earn it and nobody can ever take it away from you. It's all up to you to uphold the honor.

Just as BUD/S is the top of the Navy and Special Forces is the top of the Army, it can be said that state police agencies are the top of the law enforcement world, particularly in states whose Troopers have full police powers, full service practices, ride alone, are often alone in more than one county, and still respond to anything that comes up. No disrespect to the military branches was intended, but don't sell the KSP short.

@@BillyBob-gy7di Not being snarky with you, but I would be interested in knowing the MOS's of the Marines you saw quit. There is a HUGE difference between a Recon Marine and a cook or admin clerk. Both can claim the title of Marine, but they aren't very much alike.

How often (aprox is fine) does a cadet have a fire arm malfuntion issue with the m16 looking fire arm in this video at your accedamey? How dose a cadet advise the instructor of an issue mechanical non ejection of a spent round or a misfire of a full live round?. I know a live weapon will always be pointed down range. Nice informative video thank you for posting it.

The fact ksp has a female graduating go's to show their training isn't anything like BUDS. She probably couldn't even meet the minimum requirements to get into BUDS with pull ups.. not to undermine KSP they have the best police training in ky. But to become a seal takes over 2 years of dedication and training, there's no comparison.
They were not comparing KSP to Seals. What was being demonstrated is that KSP is an elite unit, and that they can be viewed in a similar manner when compared to other agencies, such as how a general infantry troop would view a Navy Seal.
This is ridiculous. They are getting trained in military fashion. They are peace officers serving we the people. Its time they train not to be an army against the public. They should also be given the first hour of every day discussing the bill of rights and know the 1st and 4th amendments outside in.
their being trained to protect themselves from any immediate danger they may overcome, why would you expect a trooper who doesn't have proper training to protect you or anyone else. get a grip.
my cousin is a active duty marine he wants to be a trooper i want to be a seal then a trooper ive trained 7 years im in my senior year and time is ending then i want to be kentucky state trooper. the title seal is not given but earned same as a trooper but if i make it to be a seal then im not going to be cocky and think im better than other cadets. i dont think the training will be a walk in the park but seals is more extreme. im 18 in highschool and senior will fly by and why is the requirement to be a trooper is age 21?
analogy: BUDS and SF are at the top of the niche in Military. They are TOP TIER operators. Troopers especially KSP are TOP TIER operators in the Law Enforcement world. Talk is cheap. Why not try them. I am a 26 yr Army Infantry vet. Been there and done that. Got the participation badge as well. My son is in the academy right now. It is not as easy as one thinks. Started with 60, now down to 38. All left on their own. No bell-ringing or walk of shame. They could not handle the discipline
Lol all this to post on the side of the interstate and give out citations to vehicles going 85 in 70 zone & patrol towns that have more cows than residents 😂.

I’ve seen many Marines and other military quit due to the intensity. Approximately 40% of those who start the academy wash out for various reasons
