Mike you brought back my passion for scrapping. When I was a kid I did it with my dad and four weeks ago after watching some of your videos and the 10 man Scrapper. I decided to start my adventure again last night I did some dumpster diving oh my God I got some amazing stuff thank you for bringing back my passion and I did mention your video channel in my video I hope you don’t mind.

Hey ya, Mike! You found somr great scraps! I wanted to say a big, grateful, "" THANK YOU"" to you for cleaning up around the dumpsters even when its' not your mess! I have NEVER seen you leave a mess anywhere in all the time I've been watching your videos!! Your desire to not see these scrappable items hit the landfills is applaused by me and many others! I sure wish these companies, a lumber yard scrap yard or another scrapper would see to it that! the unbroken wooden pallets weren't thrown away when they are still in good and reusable shape! I had my first CAT 5 boxes score today !!! WOOOOOHOOOOO !!!! At least 100 ft left in each box and I got about 15 boxes in all 👍👍

Mike just take the damn vacuum cords lol. Don't listen to the haters. The chance is just so slim, noone is gonna repair those old vacuums. It's all gonna end up in a landfill anyway.

I dunno Mike. At 11¢/lb ballasts are still worth harvesting when steel shred is $110/ton (5.5¢/lb). Don't be getting all fat and happy on your TH-cam superstardom, yo!

35:32 Looks more brass to me, might be the camera, but i say brass. Copper is a pure metal, while brass is copper mixed with zinc, so i guess how easy it is to recognise depends on how much zink they pured and mixed in there. But yeah, it should be considered brass if you cant clearly tell it is copper.
Both copper an brass gets more dark/red with a oxide layer when getting older.
Copper (pure), brass (copper & zink) and bronze (copper & tin) is considered red metals.
Look at the moon with the telescope, it is fun, you see the craters and things clearly :)

Love the videos and I highly doubt you'll see this but try wells Lamont hydra Hyde gloves. A little more expensive than the Mechanix gloves but I run a tow truck and they rock. Might last a little longer for ya. Just a suggestion.

Just a quick thought on the vacuum cleaners...
Why not go ahead and take them then put them up for sale for like $5 ea/$20 for 5 (if you have a bunch) and see if anyone comes and gets them...if not, then cut the power wire. You'd be helping out guys that look to fix 'em to re-sell and would still make a little $$$ yourself regardless if they get bought or not.

Never thought much of the vaccums but I would always take the cords and same things for lamps. Then it hit me just crack em open boom copper motor in the vaccum and the lamps snap them and get the whole cord. Now I know some motors are aluminum but heck still money. Just read and saw that you could clean and resell them. Might look into that.
Oh and the old school TVs that weigh 1000lbs. Have some good solid copper In them. If not then good aluminum wires. Those been paying good recently

You are Finding all fire sprinkler stuff I collect fire sprinklers and if you find really good ones you can sell them on eBay there is thousands of people that collect them they will help you and give you a good price to especially with alarm bells and the sprinklers they will give you more money than what the scrap metal will

Why are people telling you not to separate the ballasts? They are way more than tin.
I have a customer who sells point of sale systems for retailers both large and small they sell both new and used system have you ever stamp down and call some POS dealers and ask if they were interested in buying some used cash drawers
