  • While the judges are deliberating, we are entertained by Connor Sinclair, who now plays with Field Marshall Montgomery Pipe Band. Connor features in the 2011 Pipe Idol contest and again in 2012, which he won: both feature on this channel.
Like all presenters that tease the audience, Fergus Muirhead keeps us in suspense before he finally announces the results ........ guess which quartet won ! Thanks go to R.T. Shepherd & Son for sponsoring the competition each year.

This guy is one of my new favorite pipers. I play this first tune he's tuning up to as well, having learned a version from piper John Partanen. Skål to Connor. Girnigoe!

      Hi Kurt,
It's an old Gaelic air called "Theid mi dhachaidh 'chro chinn t-saile' (I will go home to Kintail). You can find it on page 120 of the Scots Guards Bk 2.

The march starting at 2:14 is called "The Abercairney Highlanders", composed by Angus MacKay, and can be found in both the Scots Guards Collection, Book 1, and P/M W. Ross Collection, Book 1.
