You're right. Probably because they generally take the Ocean Road. Completely miss it. I wonder if anyone would cover a dinghy race on one of the creeks.
@GlenAndMado you need to call in to "lakes entrance" There is a shop called "bloody good coffee" for ya glen, and if you like seafood you can buy it straight off the boat 👌
Loving your videos, and as an Aussie, I just want to thank you for shouting out so many small businesses wherever you go. People are doing it tough right now, especially rurally, they won't tell you that and they won't complain, but they are, and it's so kind and thoughtful of you to do that. Stay safe and keep having fun. ✌❤
You guy's are the best. Where ever you go with your pleasant attitude to everything makes me want to visit every place you guys have been. KEEP GOING😊❤.
About 4 years back, my lady and I and our 2 dogs hired a riverboat from Mildura and spent wonderful weeks cruising the Murray. Its so liberating being your own Riverboat Captain heading where you want. Heaps of places to visit. Everywhere has their own wharves to tie up. If you enjoy the wineries too much, you just wobble back to the boat to sleep it off. Magic trip. 😊
Love your enthusiasm guys. Mado’s “ no fricken way” makes me smile . I was in Mildura recently. It’s a lovely spot to stay & the gateway to so many other places to visit.
Being lucky enough to have been to most of the places that you guys are passing through, its refreshing to see you guys being so enthusiastic about your times through the towns.
How cool are you two. I love how you do your vlogs and enjoy so much more than just the capital cities, I can't wait to see where you pop up next. Happy travels.
Yay!!!! I was waiting for this video!!! 😊😊😊. So glad you loved it as I do! I came here for a holiday and fell in love with the place. The people are wonderful as you saw and yes we are very community-orientated. How relaxing is the river? It’s so peaceful and beautiful. Hope you come back soon!!
If you travel along the Murray River, you will find, hundeds of free, Camping spots along the River. If you come down South Between Cobram & Bearii, you can camp with the Koala's.
Travelled through Mildura on the way back to Bathurst and visited Nash Lane for brunch just before Christmas, great coffee. Mildura's a favourite stop over, great facilities and friendly locals.
This video has piqued my interest in travelling to Mildura. I love the murals, they are much better than the graffiti we see in the larger cities. I live in a country town just west of the Blue Mountains and I have noticed that country folk are usually friendlier than city people. Excellent video.
My Swedish great-grandfather worked as an engineer on the Murray/Darling paddle-steamers in the 1800's when that river system was the best way to access the country prior to railways. He later settled as a farmer in Queensland.
The River Murray is Australia's longest river. It's 2508 km long, spanning New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. Almost 2000 km is navigable, making it the third longest navigable river on the planet, with only the Amazon and Nile rivers ahead of it......
Love watching you guys description of Australia 🦘 you make me and my wife remember how we were when we first arrived. I'm Scottish and she is English 😂. Heep's more adventurous ahead stay safe and enjoy your special time together. 😊 Ps I work at Bunnings 😂
Glad you are enjoying our country. Where are you heading next?? Go back through central Victoria and visit the many goldmining towns like Bendigo, Ballarat, Beechworth, Castlemaine and others. As you like art seek out the many silo art scattered around Victoria.
Glad you're enjoying your trip and travelling the "Mighty Murray". I'm not sure how far behind the video's are to your actual current travels, but it's worth travelling south east along the river, and there are many border towns (Robinvale, Swan Hill, Cohuna, Echuca etc) along the way with heaps of interesting sights and things to do, and for overseas visitors, it's a "road seldom traveled", so your video's would provide something very different than the usual Sydney/Melbourne/Gold Coast that most overseas visitors stick to. If you make it to Swan Hill (I live there), you really must see the Pioneer Settlement sound and light show, and check in at the Swan Hill Bakehouse for a pie (I recommend beef stew or pepper steak for Glen, and a Cauliflower pie for Maddo...there great) and a coffee and pastry (Maddo). My sister runs that bakery with her son and daughter, so I might be biased, but I think it's one of the best bakeries you are likely to come across. Keep enjoying your adventures and I keep watching your video's. Cheers!
Have you seen any silo art around in the towns yet. You should definitely at least try and see some of them. They blow you away how detailed and beautiful painting they are.
I love your walk arounds. I can't walk these days. My last good knee packed up on me a few weeks ago so I walk around with a cane very very slowly for fear of falling. I have 4 animals to look after and live alone so can't afford to fall. I wish I could speed around like you do and not be out of breath. I have to walk or stand for a few minutes at a time so no longer can go to shopping malls etc. I have to order to the house. You continue learning more about Oz and it is nice to have some perspective from the Irish. My dad was born in Wales but came over on a ship in 1922 at the age of 6 months. He never made it back. I went on a world tour in 1988 and got to see the city closest to where he was born, Cardiff. I remember I wanted to go and see if I could find relatives still there but didn't have the time and with my surname, got a hell of a shock when I went into a phone booth and a whole book was for my surname - Jones. LOL
Mado picked up quickly that guy called Mario from Orange World, seemed a real character. Mario is right about the weather when it is muggy. Most of us down the south part of the continent do not like it when a day is really humid like up in Queensland. Mildura would normally be dry heat rather than humid but looks like a lot of cloud cover that day. I visited Mildura a few times. It is great to check out the Murray River region and get a sense of the past there when the boats on the river were a major industry of transporting goods before cars, trucks and trains removed the need. I took a trip on one of those boats with a girlfriend when it was a 47 degree day up there. I stupidly walked from under the shaded area of the boat to be on the deck where the Sun was heating the deck and basically burned the soles of my feet. Was silly to leave the thongs that were on my feet back under the shade so it was like briefly walking on a stove surface. Mildura kind of needs to have everything for the local residents because it a long way from any big cities like Melbourne and Sydney. They need a lot of shade in the malls as it usually is the hottest part of Victoria in the far north west of the state. Being by the river often would be a must if one was to live there.
We say “G’DAY not good day ….just teaching you guys .thanks for your great videos. One thing that fascinates me is how many Australian towns and cities have indigenous names . Warrnambool, Mildura, Ballarat, Ouyen, .
Good to see you in Mildura great place I grew up there. since you are so close you should go north for a couple of hours to Broken Hill a real old mining town really worth a look
Me and my husband drove through Mildura and it is a beautiful town . We drove to South Australia and visited The Curong and went to where the Murray river meets the ocean . Amazing !
Yabbies are the native freshwater crawfish/marron of the Murray River. Like a mini-crayfish or lobster. It's a beautiful river, especially early in the morning and during sunset. Spent most holidays as a kid in Gol Gol, Renmark or on houseboats.
Hi guys! I am in Victor Harbor these days (where you came from not long ago). I used to live in Adelaide and before that in Mildura. I used to go to Mildura High School (back when that was still a thing). Mildura is a nice city to spend some time in but I could not really imagine living there again. Enjoy your travels guys!
I've been to Mildura twice. Lovely place, but hot in summer. If you enjoy murals and street art so much & you're heading to Brisbane, the Gold Coast or Byron Bay, nearby Lismore has lots in the lane ways- called the back lane gallery.
Love the Bunnings hats. Best thing to wear on the head in the Aussie sun. Loved the video. Very enjoyable.good to see you enjoying Australia.😃 Its beautiful country down there. Id love to go for a swim there. There's way too many bullsharks in our local river😂😂Have a blast guys. So much to see in Australia 😊
Took me back to my childhood.... my parents and grandparents lived here and we visited every Christmas!!! Nice and warm in summer 🙂 Thanks for taking me back!!
My son lived in Mildura for a few years and I was there about five years ago and did the paddle steamer tour . I also had look at Psyche Bend Pumps. Mildura is a great place t o visit, just quite away from big cities. Six hour drive from Melbourne. I remember my son getting used of the locals. Call in at Bunnings, get out of his 4wd and the greeting would start. As one would finish another would walk up.
My friend and I did a road trip from Queensland to SA via Broken Hill. We were only going to overnight in Mildura but stayed longer and really liked the place.
Top stuff guys been watching Youse on your journey and loving the content, im on the Murray at torrumbarry not far from Swan Hill, Glen you have to get a fishing rod and have a try for the Murray cod (fish) while you're on the river if your in to fishing it's a once in a lifetime chance while you're here mate 🍻 Injoy guys 👍
You guys look like you have each other hats on! BTW Glen its pronounced Mil dew ra...Food would be amazing there as well...Will get there one day! Skies are just incredible down that way...
Look up the silo art trail, they are huge wheat silos that have been painted. They are located all over Australia but mainly In Victoria and South Australia
The Flinders Ranges were amazing. But water brings life. The Murray River is the lifeblood of much of Victoria. The Murray Cod can be a huge fish! 😮 Great soil. Clean air. Clean water. Aussie food is the best on the planet. No lie. 👍🌟 M 🦘🏏😎
Thanks for your videos Glen and Mado. I appreciate your honesty, like at Hahndorf with the German food being 50/50. US Aussies would think it was authentic and good, probably after squirting Tomato sauce all over it! I've never eaten a fresh pretzel, that's perhaps why I don't buy them. I will if I can see they're fresh. Saying you'd rather not spend the money going to Kangaroo island was another instance, or that you couldn't afford a 4wd. You are so easy to identify with, as you're acting like most Australians would. We can't all stay at 5 Star resorts. I much prefer camping anyway. No check in or out, no locked in a room, a campfire makes it better. Enjoy your time in Australia. It's great seeing people enjoy our great outdoors, cities are freakin' boring. Auf Weidersehn. 😀👍
Sweaty and hot in Mildura. We go as a family in March Dec-Feb too hot 😂. The beautiful Rio Vista(Mildura First Mayor’s house) is stunning but very haunted.
Finally some vloggers spending time on the magnificent Murray River.
Oh it is Murry river. This must of been filmed. Before thay came to Melbourne I just watched the vid of them in. SA .arfter leveling Melbourne.
@@countrabricksbuildcraze8916 this was actually after Melbourne lol, we were making our way to Brisbane 🤣
Taking the scenic route. 😎

Thanks, guys. Another great video. Now I've put Mildura on my list of places to visit.
I've really enjoyed watching you guys and your enthusiasm and friendliness everywhere you go. I hope the rest of the trip goes magnificently!

A Yabby is a crustacean. Somewhere between a prawn and a lobster. Kabana is a cured meat stick, like pepperoni or salami, but a bit less dense.
Travelled through Mildura on the way back to Bathurst and visited Nash Lane for brunch just before Christmas, great coffee. Mildura's a favourite stop over, great facilities and friendly locals.
really love the murray and the riverland, the river seems to go on forever

You should spend autumn around April-May in Bright, Victoria. The colours of the leaves will blow your mind!
Also Beechworth. Another beautiful town
@@dawn8843Plus it’s Bushranger country.
I didn’t know the Murray had locks. But after searching now I know there’s about a dozen locks so vessels can pass weirs

The exciting part is when I click on your video, it's anyones guess where you'll be! Watching from the Sunshine Coast Queensland 🏖
They are probably up near you on Sunshine Coast now. Check a local bakery and you may find Mado searching out her next pastry hit.
Glad you are enjoying our country. Where are you heading next?? Go back through central Victoria and visit the many goldmining towns like Bendigo, Ballarat, Beechworth, Castlemaine and others. As you like art seek out the many silo art scattered around Victoria.

Should have come the middle of the year Mado. Autumn/ Winter is the best time to travel if you don't handle heat very well.
Mildura is famous for its food, lots of Italian It's a great city.

Mildura looks like one of the nicest country towns in Australia. I often see Mildura oranges for sale in Queensland.
It’s an alright place very beautiful but if you walk down the langtree mall you’ll often get robbed by a group of boys so that sucks
Glen, Australians don’t say, “good day,” they say, “g’day.”
We often do 'road trips', we especially like this stretch around Mildura. Keep up your wonderful positivity guys.
It really is a beautiful part of the world, we are really enjoying it! 🙂
The mighty Murray.
The greatest, glad you enjoyed it.
Appreciate the time you give to places outside the major capital cities. Followed you from McLaren Vale and enjoying each one.
Mildura’s a fabulous small city. Lots to see and do.

Yes you can there are better cuts of steak than rump like Scotch Fillet.

Nice shady hats Glen & Madi! 🙂
Go to Echuca on the Murray river. They also have paddle steamers That’s another interesting place to visit
Streets Of Your Town is a song by the Aussie band the Go-Betweens.

Matto if you take the paper off the meat it will fit in the fridge a bit easier, so long as you have a plastic bag it should be fine.
Haha you're right, we'll have to be more strategic with the fridge space on the next trip!
Well did I get a shock, You were in the Flinders and was expecting the next to be crossing the Nullabor!
Ooh… it’s a long way across the Nullabour & January not the best time of year, although Perth is the jewel at the end of that long journey at least. 🙂
