Which is frankly stupid. EA has done alot of shit, sure. But closing down Westwood isn't one of them, as most of the staff had left after Renegade in 02. EA then did the natural thing and closed the studio, and let most of the developers go to EA LA, which would later make C&C Generals.
Udo Kier was awesome in that game. Some of the actors have fun with their roles (which works too) but Udo is totally serious and actually projects real menace in his performance. I miss these C&C and Red Alert games with their live action FMV. He totally should have been a James Bond villain.
I've spent years working out whether or not its just nostalgia but watching this video kinda lays it on the line, if game devs spent half the effort these guys did to make their game more interesting, we probably wouldn't be spending so much time reminiscing of past times.

We used to play local-network RA2 with my friends at the internet cafe on my childhood. I didn't even know it had a single player mode. After 20 years I've just finished the story game. All those efforts made for this unique game, with one word; its unbelievable which makes it one of the best games of all time.

Every inch of the game is about making money. No risks, just copy something that sold well once before. No time for creativity. Time is money.
Agreed. All games are almost dead to me with only some exceptions. It's characteristically for the current age. Spirituality and True Science brought me back to understanding our world. Things will only get better for everyone if we take matters in our own hands again. Just replayed both games last week cause I closed my eyes a few days ago and heard and saw the apocalypse tank blowing something up. Man they really nailed this game and the soundtrack!
When I look back at my youth, I'm grateful for all the wonderful memories wonderful people like Westwood Studios gave me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm middle aged now, with a wife and children of my own, but I will always look back on these nostalgic memories with fondness.

it's not like there weren't ways to find out back then. He was credited in the game, so just look up the actor in other roles or as himself. To have to stumble across it randomly 18 years later is a bit silly, if you were dying to find out...

I actually watched these cut scenes. Most story scenes in games these days have me reaching for my phone until they shut up. Red Alert 2 is one of the best games I've ever played. Would love a proper remaster.
hopefully after the C&C and RA remaster they'll let petroglyph do another combo-remaster of TibSun and RA2.
