    I absolutely love that knife - another one for the 'pick up at some point' list

    Bought one, thought it was a bargain at the price. Edge holding mediocre plus lock failure makes it “uncarriable”. Good that others have had better luck with theirs.

    This was my 1st Microtech. Bought the black bladed FRN from DLT. Absolutely love it.

    Hey there Kevin. What a relief to hear someone make rational comments about the weight/robustness of a carry knife in relation to the pants worn. Thanks for sharing a reasonable perspective :)

      @@TheWoofin-e7d I try to avoid saying rational stuff on the internet but once in a while I let something slip

    This is my favorite knife design of all time, and it is perfect except for one thing. The edge retention/heat treat. M390 is one of my favorite steels mainly because it was the first super steel I ever had. I use my knives at work, which means "hard use." Microtech has the worst preforming edge retention of almost all of my knives in m390, and I have some no-name brands in that category. Their claims of toughness are bullshit because if that was truly their aim, they could use any number of other steels to accommodate this trait. If you use your knives to open amazon boxes and mail, then you will be fine with underperforming steel, but use it for anything else than pocket jewelry, and it's a fail. For 200$ they can do better than 58-59hrc.

      they know nobody really uses their knives. you don't get toughness by making a brittle steel soft, you just get bad performance. a roll is just as bad as a chip, that part of the edge needs to be sharpened out. it's purely cost saving for them.

    I own two Amphibians: aluminum black apocalyptic serrated (137RL-11APFL) and aluminum od green stonewashed (137RL-10FLOD). I own one Stitch: aluminum gray stonewashed (169RL-10APFLNC). I own one MSI 30th Anniversary Edition: FRN white stonewashed (210T-10PMWH30). All three Ram-Lok Microtechs are great knives, I personally like the Amphibian the most. The Amphibian has simply a great design, it is one of my favorite folders and I have quite a few knives from top manufacturers, including Herman and Shirogorov.

    I sold my MSI to replace with an Amphibian. I prefer the amphibian handle and blade shape. Mainly cutting efficiency on the recurve is better than the MSI.

    I own 3 of them now, the apocalyptic finish is my favourite. I need some aftermarket scales but with all options available it’s a difficult choice.

    The MSI has really risen to the top of my favorite blades, it's a tough call for me between this and the Socom Elite and that's saying something.

    No. Because the LUDT is the best Microtech. Correction, the LUDT is the best pocket knife.

      @CNYKnifeNut 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't even have big hands (9.5 glove), but the grip area on the LUDT is too small for my hand.

      @@CNYKnifeNut That is incorrect. The grip on the LUDT IS NEAR PERFECTION.

    I’m ok with the fact that this steel is equivalent to the steel on the Chinese clone of the same knife….not really ok with it. I’m ok with the fact that the action kinda sucks. I’m ok with the lock stick. What I’m not ok with is the stitches on my fingers from the lock failing. One deep bite into wood, and a pull back of the handle was enough to fail the lock and maim my hand. Considering that the lock stick was so bad, I’d have thought it was a solid lock up….nope. Microtech has constantly made me wish I’d not taken the plunge. And I’m an idiot for giving them more chances. The Manual stitch is great….same steel made of pasta though.

    I own this knife and want to love it but the cutting geometry is terrible
