Thanks for this. I just discovered iceberg theory yesterday, and I think it's going to solve a lot of problems in a novel I am rewriting. This was a very useful explication of how the theory works.
this is phenomenal. clears up a lot for me. thank you. one question, however: would you advise against writing the whole iceberg on the page, and then going back to page 1 and stripping away the inessential parts? do you think that i should leave that out in the first draft, so as not to get too bogged down when i go to do edits?
