  • Lehi, a Book of Mormon prophet, has a vision of the destruction of Jerusalem. He teaches that Jesus Christ is central to God’s plan of salvation. Those who are righteous and keep the commandments will be blessed. God allows for opposition in all things so that happiness, goodness, and righteousness can exist. We are free to choose eternal life and joy through following Jesus Christ. Lehi teaches his son Joseph about his lineage from Joseph of Egypt. He also reveals that Joseph of Egypt prophesied of Joseph Smith. Lehi blesses his family and tells them that their descendants will not perish but will ultimately be blessed.
    Based on 2 Nephi 1-4.

What a profound love Lehi had for his children! As a father, I can empathize. The Spirit was so strong as I sat, surrounded by my children, watching and gleaming with them from this beautiful rendition of Lehi's words. Jesus Christ lives!
The Book of Mormon is a true witness of Him, and I am so grateful to have put away my pride and false beliefs about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and listened, truly listened to the truth from members and missionaries. I always love reading Lehi's final blessing. There's a lot to learn from it, and a lot of doctrine from the Bible is both supported and clarified. Plus you see how desperately he wants all his family to be righteous so they can all receive the blessings that come with it. And it was kind if the family's moment of truth: they chose either to be righteous and accept whomever the Lord has chosen to lead, or be angry with it and leave, which is still a choice we have to make today. This is one of my favorite parts of the Book of Mormon.

I love the look of resentment on Laman and Lemuel and their families' faces when Sariah gave Nephi the liahona. By inheriting the Liahona, Nephi is now officially recognized as the spiritual leader over the whole family. That was the last straw for Laman and Lemuel, who thought that because they were older and bigger and stronger they should lead. But by seeking for that instead of the kingdom of God, they lost it all.

Together they where physically stronger than Nephi. But as the scriptures indicate Nephi was large in statucher. So likely he was physical strong as one of them if not sttonger. In old testament tradition, the eldest was supposed to inherit everything his father had, including the priesthood. It ran deeper than simple resentment against Nephi for being more favored by Lehi. Laman lost that birthright because of wickedness, similar to how Reuben lost his birthright from Jacob because he fornicated. That birthright passed on to Joseph, the eldest of Jacob's second wife.

8:05 - Tad R. Callister identified this as one of the most important doctrines corrected in the Book of Mormon -
The garden of Eden is not the end goal which we are trying to get back to to undo the foolishness of our first parents, but rather, it was the launching off point for God's entire plan, a plan in which Adam and Eve played a vital role.
Because of them, we exist, and as they were taught, we can all come back to the Father through the Atonement of Christ.

@@chrisdavis6383 Lehi is sharing a prophecy from Joseph of Egypt taken from the brass plates. Lehi was a descendant of this Joseph and so this prophecy meant a great deal to him and his family. The prophecy deals with more than just Joseph Smith Jr., the wider view of the prophecy is that it tells of the coming Messianic dispensation, the subsequent apostasy, and the restoration and gathering of Israel. Joseph Smith being a vital part of that restoration. Hence you have Joseph of Egypt referring to Joseph Smith as a second Moses whose role was to deliver the people from spiritual bonds rather than physical. So it makes a good deal of sense for a father to tell his son about a glorious prophecy of a respected ancestor who this son was most likely named for. It also is a way to teach his son that the Lord will always deliver His children, and that Christ has saved all those who will come to Him.

"there is no indication of an apostate church"
Have you never read of the Protestant reformation? That's pretty basic Christian knowledge.
"Genuine Christianity never was eliminated from the earth."
That depends on what you mean by it, but one view of "genuine Christianity" is that it received God's word and produced holy scripture.
"the argument that the Hebrew and Greek texts were corrupted"
The claim is that "plain and precious things" and "covenants" were taken away by the ex-revelatory church. This doesn't necessarily refer to textual inconsistency or even the numerous instances of omission. The most obvious twisting of scriptural covenant was the Catholic interpretation of sexual reproduction as sinful and the insistence on priestly celibacy (Hebrews 13:4; Matthew 19:4-6). This forms one of the most striking contrasts with the Jesus Christ LDS Church, which places such enormous emphasis on priestly marriage, to the point of requiring it in heaven.
The Book of Mormon is not true because it teaches archaeology. It's true because, like the Bible, and like the word of God that has flowed to all nations over time, it teaches some of the most important spiritual truths available to man. Whichever view one takes while reading the book will determine one's response to it.

The Dramatisation of the Book of Mormon/The Book of Nephi into these videos is so powerful. There is much in this one in particular. For me at this present time, I am in the process of taking the counsel of President Russel M. Nelson. The current Prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ - wherein He, Elder Nelson as asked us to read the Joseph Smith History of the first vision found in the Pearl of Great Price. President Nelson has promised all who do& make a study of it from now until the April conference of 2020 will gain, strengthen, & renew their testimonies of Joseph Smith, Jesus Christ & Heavenly Father. he also promised that all who do this will have a "Wonderful Experience" at next year's General Conference.
So when Lehi called to his son Joseph & told him who he was named after & told him about the further Joseph It rang loud and clear in my Heart & mind about who Joseph Smith is. I have been reading & studying more & more about who he is. & true to President Nelson promise My Testimony is in the process of being renewed, I am gaining more insight & being, strengthen, as to who He, (JS), is, which this video has aided in doing today.
Joseph Ben-Joseph is a name that is applied to Joseph Smith as is Messiah Ben-Joseph which is a Jewish tradition he was also known as Teal the Restorer. as is expressed in these words below.
"In 1955, the Macmillan Company of New York published the English translation of a book by Dr. Joseph Klausner, professor of Hebrew literature and Jewish history at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. the book came under the title of The Messianic Idea in Israel. in this volume, Dr. Klausner devoted one full chapter (Part 111, Chapter9) to the coming of a future "Joseph." dr. Klausner pointed out that one of the most ancient and respected traditions among the Jewish scholars is the prophecy that a "Joseph" should be raised up in the latter days for the specific purpose of preparing the way for the coming Messiah. He cited sources to show that this future Joseph is not only mentioned in the Talmud and other Jewish classics, but Christian scholars have also taken note of this tradition. According to Jewish scholars, this future Joseph was to be killed, some said in battle , but Judah Ibn Shmuel said he would be attacked by "Armilus, who is the "Antichrist" According to tradition this Joseph of the latter days would be a descendant of Joseph who was sold into Egypt and would come through the Line of Ephraim ( Joseph's heir). it also said that his mission would commence about the time Elijah made his appearance to fulfill the promise made in Malachi 4: 5-6. But the thing that puzzled Dr. klausner most was why this tradition of the latter-day Joseph should be so thoroughly established among the Jewish scholars when there was no reference to it in the Hebrew scriptures. the Talmud, the Midrash, and the Targum all refer to it, but these of course, are merely commentaries rather than the scripture itself. furthermore, the Jews are not the only ones who have this tradition. Dr Klausner states that the Samaritans are even more zealous than the Jews in keeping alive the tradition of the latter-day Joseph. some of them claim to be of the tribe of Joseph and therefore this prophecy is important to them. It will be recalled that the ancestors of the Samaritans were a tiny remnant that was successful in escaping the siege of the Assyrians in 721 B.C., and therefore they were not carried off to Mesopotamia with the rest of Israel. their tradition concerning the latter-day Joseph goes back to a period which was long before the Talmud. According to Dr. Klausner, The Samaritans had this to say about the future Joseph: 1. they said he would be a descendant of Joseph Through Ephraim. They sometimes referred to him as a "son of Ephraim." 2. they called him Teal, meaning "The Restorer," "he who returns," or "he who causes to return." [He is a preparer of the way for the Lord, He is an Elias" as was John the Baptist. It is interesting that Peter James and John asked the Saviour if Elias, was this restorer at the mount of Transfiguration. Christ answered no, but said but first, surely the restorer must come. ] 4. they said this Joseph of the Latter-days would "restore everywhere the true Law to its former validity and convert all peoples, especially the Jews to the Samaritan (Ephraimite) religion." Now that a considerable quantity of lost scripture is beginning to be restored by the lord or rediscovered by scholars, it has become readily apparent why both the Jews and the Samaritans would have had a rich well-established tradition concerning a "Joseph" Who was to prepare the way for the Coming of the Messiah."

That is what I just cannot comprehend. Today 2019 not having seen or been in the presence of an angel like Laman and Lemuel one could argue existence w/o faith but to be like the two brothers and not just witness but to be struck down and not keep the faith is unfathomable. So very sad, the look on Lehi's face in the end as he knew what would happen must have crushed him.

The guy who played Lehi is perfection! WHAT A GREAT VIDEO! The acting is world-class here! Lehi just stole the show! Absolutely inspiring!

    • @rtardbox
      @rtardbox 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@Mr. Peterson yeah, that's a stretch. maybe that's the symbolism and the metaphor you see but there are so many arguments against what you just said it's hard to even talk about. it did exhibit nephi's faith, i suppose, but the parts which were unclear and confusing was they insane reactions of the older brothers. the only explanation was that they didn't want their little brother to lead them. alcohol was falsely introduced and cowardice seemed to be the theme of the "righteous". it seemed really, really confusing and reactionary. they should have focused on how Laman and Lemual did not believe in the same God as nephi believed in and how their God, much like the God of the Jews, would never be meek and allow a younger brother to lead the wiser, older, more able older brothers who were entitled to the powers of leadership and much more. instead they chose to make L&L look like a couple of drunken party animals who lacked self discipline and were megalomaniac and insane instead of portraying them for the evil, selfish, faithless, hateful, murderous, power-hungry jerks with delusions of grandeur that they were. in the last video they painted an over simplified picture whose motives made little to no sense. i mean, why not just throw nephi in the water? stab him and throw him overboard? they were trying to show everyone that Nephi and Lehi's God was not the real God of power and they L&L were the master's of their own destiny! They took some liberties that were okay and fine, like Nephi's wife coming to give him water. Gave Nephi the chance to explain why he was being patient to us ... but when Nephi's mom told Laman "This is not who you are!" I nearly threw up! Yes! IT IS who he is! The natural man is an enemy to God and that is JUST who he is! Sariah would NEVER have said anything so libtarded and moronic! She'd have said, "This is not who you want to be" or "This is the nature of faithlessness and will lead you to the destiny of destruction!" or "You have the ability to be divine, son, but you are rejecting your Godly path!" but she would NEVER have said, "This is not who you are" ... that's just pathetic.
This video, however, was sublime. Loved how Lehi called L&L out for being murderers in their hearts... something the prior videos should have made clear. These guys were not just selfish power-hungry bullies, but they were psychopaths who, like Cain, looked fondly on murdering to get gain! Which is why they were turned black, like Cain and his children ... I'm dying to see how they approach THAT politically incorrect topic! I KNOW how they will, actually... they'll hire some Mexian/Indian Conquistadorian looking people to play the parts of the Lamanites and never even mention the curse at all. When they SHOULD hire some dark as "flint" African looking people to play the part! News flash: RACE has a LOT to do with truth and religion!! But, of course, not even the Mormons will talk about that ... fact v. feelings ... feelings win! "And the FEELINGS shall set you free" right? gag!
Yeah, last video was pretty disappointing ... however this one was just great! I hope all the future ones will be this good! (but, don't hold your breath 'cause they won't be)

As a true prophet, he had seen the beginning from the end--and some of his sons apostasy as well as other sons righteousness. Oh being a parent is so hard!
