  • They wander blind through fields so wide,
Unaware of the strings I hide.
Their steps in sync, no question why,
Just follow the voice, no need to try.
Eyes fixed down, they walk in line,
No thought to sway, no will, no spine.
    A whisper here, a nudge, a shout,
They move the way I point them out.
Oh, sheep in the dark, led by the hand,
They roam where I guide, on my command.
No sense of thought, no sight, no sound,
I lead them safe, I lead them bound.
Through valleys low and hills so steep,
They move as one, my flock of sheep.
A word, a song, a light to chase,
They’ll follow me to any place.
I hold the reins, I own the trust,
And lead them on because I must.
They never ask, they never see,
They think they’re free, yet follow me.
Oh, sheep in the dark, led by the hand,
They roam where I guide, on my command.
No sense of thought, no sight, no sound,
I lead them safe, I lead them bound.
They never stray, they never fight,
Through endless days and starless night.
I am the voice, the mind they lack,
To wander off, they won’t look back.
So here they walk, my quiet throng,
    Moving forward, right or wrong.
As long as they trust, as long as they need,
I am their shepherd, and I’ll lead.
