However, if you're a local, you'll also know that Medellin boasts one of the most vibrant car cultures, with a passion for drifts and racing. If you're a fan of video games like Need for Speed or movies like "Fast and Furious," then Medellin should be on your must-visit list. Reggaeton, beautiful ladies, thrilling drifts, and high-speed cars - it's all here.
It took me two months to plan and organize this video, aiming to give you a glimpse into the extraordinary car culture that thrives in this city.

A friend of mine had one of those GT500s, damn thing was ridiculous in anything other than the driest of conditions. Which in the UK is almost never. Sounded hellacious but was far too much of a handful to drive in a straight line let alone the twisty narrow roads we have here. He ended up getting rid of it and going for a late 1960s fastback instead.
I would’ve never thought they had a real car culture. Shit was nuts. Thank you Timmy for showing love!

It really shows the character of these guys who drifts and drives fast cars to drive slow through viewpoints. They know a lot of people are walking so they even put their emergency lights on and drive a respectful speed. Makes sense why they said that the car culture is respected in Medellin.

It’s cool how the people still go out and meet up race around and meet new people that’s way more fun than sitting at home on your phone all day like a lame
That kind of car culture is all but eradicated in most of Europe, idk about the USA but I imagine it's getting that way too. 'Mechanical enforcement' on all the smooth fast roads, you've got to go out in the middle of nowhere to be able to have fun, and even then if you're spotted in a convoy of obvious 'enthusiast cars' they'll come stop you pretty fast, and put a legal smackdown on you. Saying that, I'm still a little upset these guys chose a time when there was a lot of regular traffic on the road, idk if there's always that much traffic but seems to me that they could have waited til most of the regular drivers would have been in bed.

The engine came through the firewall and broke the dashboard into three pieces, pushing into my legs and lap. Multiple injuries. Broken bones, cuts, abrasions and some serious bruising. My right leg was shattered. The knee cap broken into nine separate pieces. It was wired back together with surgical wire and screws. My right hand broken from the death grip I had on the steering wheel during impact. When the air bag deployed it sliced me open from my thumb to my wrist. This all happened in January 2023. Cuts have healed, bones have healed, bruising is gone. Two months in a hospital. It took two nurses to help me get out of it into a wheel chair so I could sit by the window for a little while. Two months in a rehab center. Sent home with a walker. Physical therapist sessions every day except Sundays. I can now walk somewhat with a cane for support. I am unable to stand for more than a few minutes. My balance is not good. Standing and walking is something I am having to learn to do again. Like a young toddler does. The doctors say if I continue to work at it I will be able to walk again unassisted likely before the end of 2024. I will always have a limp though. I was the absolute king of the road. I had total control of my car. No one was better than me. I paid the price for that and will every day for the rest of my life. Have fun guys. I pray you never have to pay the dues.

My passion is driving, working as a cab driver for over 30 years now, there are a lot of stupid drivers out there, .lately more and more driving careless,. now those electric cars are very fast and drivers are worst, bad combination.
