Yeah that completely changed the meaning of that. It turned it into something cute into something disturbing. I don't like it. That's my biggest complaint about Xenoblade 3.

Let's just appreciate the storytelling of Nia not having fought as a blade for years, and Rex never having fought as her driver before, but as soon as she hands him her sword, they fight perfectly together without having to say a word, like it's the most natural thing in the world for them... Even back then, it's clear that they understood eachother better than we thought!
Exactly, on top that, Nia is the only blade in the entire game who has affinity with her driver from the start, friendzone or not, that goes to show how strong the bond between Rex and Nia is

Me too! I rarely tear up for fictional stories, and both Xenoblade 2 and 3 made me tear up, and 3 not only had crying not just tear up, but it made me cry twice! I know they did a great job at making a moment emotional when it can make me cry and multiple times at that even knowing what happens afterwards.
