Overall broadcast was poor from spectators point of view due to many audio technical issues. The stream did not have a cohesiveness to it: The games were poorly displayed, commentary was subpar, the two commentators did not work well together and Danny could also improve his interview skills. Overall would rate this event 9/10 for location/venue and creativity, however a 2/10 for viewers.
I like their commenting but please oh my god if you’re gonna play out scenarios please also have the live board somewhere else on the screen so we don’t miss the moves that the players are actually making. Happened like a million times.
@@SenatorBluto he is known for being disrespectful. Do you understand? You can commentate lines and evaluate the position without being disrespectful. Look at Svidler. Top player in his prime, way better than Maurice, and also respectful
Really this had all the meat to be a great show but it seems like the production keeps making blunders and does not learn from the mistakes made in the opening day. Let us hear the players at the end!
I did not like Maurice’s and Tania’s commenting style during the endgame. Commentators like Peter Leko or David Howell excel at focusing on what the players might be thinking and experiencing, rather than strictly pointing out what should have happened according to the engine. Here, it felt like the commentators came off too authoritative, which can (unintentionally) diminish the incredible skill of the players.
I have to agree with others on Maurice's commentary, it was a bit unprofessional, he has the comfort of engine and if engine is giving +0.1 he tries to find a point why one side is way better like he knew if before, in fact it's a draw in 90% of cases. Another point is, when you always switch to Maurice, we don't see live boards and while he's explaining lines that will never happen, 2-3 moves are already played and we have no way of seeing it, and then it's switched but not played back which moves were played in what order, we just want a live board on 1/3 of the screen that is always there and you can share the rest of the screen with analysis board and other stuff.
remove this maurice guy, he barely knows how to move a night and judging world no.2 Caruana endgames, its a shame, just kick this maurice guy out of commentary, my grandma can beat maurice
Please stop commenting when the players talk after the game. We want to hear what they are talking about!

Shame on Maurice, who was trash talking about Fabiano's endgame skills.
They both played it sloppily, didn't they? You would think a grandmaster would have that endgame down cold.
I don't think Maurice would've done any better. He is known for his provocative trash talk as if he was any better than those guys

It's his JOB to give the engine analysis ffs!
Do you understand?

Shru... I think you have no idea what are you talking about. GM Maurice is an amazing player and commentator.
