Improv is like jumping out of a plane and knitting a parachute on the way down. It is a fuckin' insanely tricky thing to learn because it is almost purely instinctual. You can train for it and understand it but it's like war. It's all useless the second you encounter the chaos of initial contact. Of course, OTV did a fantastic job given this was the first time for all of them to do this. I'd imagine that in some ways streaming has some of the muscles you'd need for improv. It's just not going to feel similar until you have that mental "click" where you can mentally equate the two things and start to pull on those muscles you've built up. All in all, this was a great video to watch the first time, and even better having Will to guide us through this time. I hope they can do this again in the future. I'd say that now, with the OTV gang having some experience, it will go more smoothly, and therefore more enjoyable to watch, next time. I really hope they give improv another shot for us to watch.
After binging Whose Line through middle and high school, it's really interesting to hear some of the behind-the-scenes of improv. Hopefully Will gets to do this kind of stuff more often, because it's really fun to see
