Twinkle, Twinkle, in my eye, lets me know I soon will cry. Drink lots of water and caffeine, or over the toilet I will lean. My body laughs at pain medicines, so prevention is key before a migraine begins! Thanks Doc!
Aloha Doc, TY! Interesting that you should choose “AMAZING” ...That is the exact word that someone used today to describe YOUR video tour of the Ohio Health MS Center with MS Veiws and News, after I shared it with them! Continued blessing be upon you and all that you do!
I’m on day 8 of my menstrual migraine 😢 the headache was day 4-6, I’ve tried 3 different treatments that have caused other side effects so I’m waiting for a call from my neurologist to discuss different treatment, thanks for your videos 💐🇬🇧
Enjovy has been a game changer for me! I have been taking it for four months now and I have only had maybe three migraines. I am soooo thankful that my Neurologist prescribed this for me!
I’m one that gets sever migraines. I get all the symptoms you mentioned at once. Very scary for everyone around me. I find my maxalt wafers are the only thing that still works after trying over 30 types of meds. I also take a daily pill now Amitriptyline 25mg. So far 6 migraines in 5 months. Best I’ve been in 35 years! 💖🇦🇺
Migraines are so frustrating and quite debilitating for me. I'm sick of trying everything and not having any results. Luckily I have a great doctor and supportive family and friends. Thanks for the video. I've always wondered if migraines and MS were linked. As you say "nature is too generous."
For 10+ years with MS, I always reported “no pain” when talking about my symptoms. Finally realized five migraine days per week is considered “pain” 🙄 I am now on Effexor as a preventative and favorite abortive is Excedrin migraine.
I was treated for migraines for years before I had my first MRI on my spine. Because I had bladder problems for many years a MRI of my spine was ordered finally and then I was diagnosed with MS. My migraines and bladder issues were the reason behind the ordering of MRI's which ultimately gave me a long overdue MS diagnosis. However I still suffer migraines and an ER doctor suggest if I could get an Advil in me quickly when I realize it's a migraine, i have a good chance of it being reduced to a quick one or a headache instead. It was great advice.
I was Diagnosed when I was a very small child with Migraines... back then they didn't have all the meds they do today so I had to learn my triggers.. they are usually behind one of my eyes
I get nausea at the beginning of my migraines. My migraines decreased after having a baby ( I've heard other women say that they noticed a decrease in migraines after a hormonal change, such as menopause, hysterectomy, baby,etc.). I was having daily headaches back in the fall, and my neuro suggested 400mg of magnesium a day and since i started that my headaches are sparse. I drink a TON of caffeine and water. At that first sign of headache and nausea i take an excedrin migraine.
Botox injections, given by my neurologist, have significantly lowered my frequency of migraines.. That said, I’m on day 8 of a migraine. This is a first, and a complete “train wreck.” My neurologist prescribed Decadron. Hoping my sweet daughter arrives here safely and soon!
Hey doc, ty appreciate it. I get at least two a week and since trying to pack and move with no help my health is getting worse :( nothing I can do but push on but it's taking tons out of me ...getting weaker everyday stinks and now I am in panic mode.
I see you’re up before the birds like me 🤣🤣. I always exercise as soon as I get up. On topic....I had an MRI which showed moderate damage in C2 and C3. Like clockwork, if I do sit-ups or pump iron I get the worst headache around the occipital area. They are debilitating and often vomiting occurs. I take Tylenol with coffee before I exercise now and it does help.
i get migraines a few times a month, i saw a doctor about them 3 years ago ( 2 years before my ms diagnosis ). i was told they were just headaches and to do with my tinnitus. i had an mri to check my inner ear, but didnt hear back, he also missed clear signs of ms on the mri
Thanks Dr, I could not figure out link between Migraine & irritability, Both co-exist & not sure which one causes. Thankfully, after quitting work, concentrating on Hydration & exercise, No Migraines as nothing to irritate :-)
Thankyou Dr B.! I have gotten migraines for years when I was younger. Sometimes around menstrual cycles and other times with weather changes I think or stress. Luckily I don't experience them much anymore since I am a little older now. Seems some of it was hormonal. My neuro thought they were tension headaches. I disagreed with him cuz I would see the lights prior to them and sometimes throw up, which was horrible cuz I would feel like my head was coming off when I would heave making things ten times worse! After all of that, I didn't even get any relief! Seems my headaches started behind the eyes feeling like a hot metal rod was being pierced right thru my eyes or bad pain starting at the base of my skull in the back of my head. Could I have experienced both kinds of headaches? Tension headaches and migraines? All I know was I had headaches more so than not when I was younger and still working back then. Not a good combination for sure...though I would work thru them! 😧 Thankyou Dr. B. for validating what I knew all along, that MS DOES cause pain and alot at times. I've experienced many of the things you've mentioned about pain in my past 38 yrs. with MS. MS hug making it hard to breath, severe spasms in my legs like seizure spasms, also lhermittes sign with either the electric bolt like pain shooting through down my legs and a couple times even down the arms and legs too, or a weird buzzing kind of vibrational feeling. Also ofcourse, the numbness, tingly, prickly, burning, hot pain in every part of my body, including the private areas too. MS does hurt! Agreed!😕 Dr. Boster, much love and admiration to you for all you continue to do for all of us. I cannot begin to tell you how much of a priceless gift you share with all of us in the MS community your dedication and concern to all of us is unsurpassed in my opinion. Makes us all stronger! Thankyou! 👍👍❤💪💪❤
I just found this video! I have been going to the Dr about migraines for YEARS now. I get to see you June 18th! I am beginning to question if they are migraines b/c you say they happen on one side or the other. When i get what I assumed was a migraine its my entire head including my neck and my right eye and its HORRID!. I can't do light, sound, movement they only thing I can do is cry and that even hurts. So I get in the shower and just sit in the water sometimes until the water goes cold. (we have a 40gal water heater lol). I can't wear bras, I cant wear pony tails, jeans, leggings, etc anything pretty much that puts pressure on my body (this is everyday). My hair or scalp hurts often lol thats the only way I can describe it. My dr's have tried Maxalt and Topamax and neither of them do anything. Here is one for you :P You said 1-2 a month is too much, I have some kind of head, neck, right eye pain ( I have several black spots in my right eye at this point they have been getting more and more and bigger since 2009, dr's are monitoring me for Open angle glaucoma b/c I have ocular hypertension and a whole bunch of other stuff there i will bring ll that paper work lol) almost everyday. there are VERY FEW times when I go more than a day or two without something somewhere hurting. The super bad ones i get super bad fatigue, nausea, my ears ring and everything sounds like i just stood next to a sonic boom and it goes like quiet and alls I hear is this loud ring. Sometimes its sharply high and others is like a dull ring. Sometimes these "spells' can happen over a period of several days. two times in the past 3-4 years I have had this last for 2-3 weeks. Yes not exaggeration i was literally miserable for that long everyday and no matter what I did it did nothing. I literally lived in my tub. My back is the worst especially as the day goes on. I could literally sit here and babble but I am just so stoked that I get to finally see you. I am not a dr person and this is all new to me. In 2018 I just wanted my body pains, eye and head to stop so they gave me an MRI and 100 other tests and then Dr Rorick (Riverhills neuroscience in Norwood, OH) and my PCP Dr Rudd, brought up demylination on an EMG i had done and well Dr R was like hey I suspect MS. And I was like what is that? And well that was in 2018 and he passed August 2018 and I tried to go to another dr about it all and she just said I have mirgraines. Uhm yea :P i know that lol anywho thanks! for the video. :)
My migraines consist of numbness in my body, brain fog, inability to find words, neck pain, and throbbing around my eyes. I was convinced I had MS. A smart neurologist got me squared away with Elavil. Now everything is much better. Thanks for sharing, doc.
I definitely get interesting headaches, usually one side in the ocipital lobe and in conjunction with optic Neuritis, which is definitely preceded by aura most the time. I appreciated this, definitely sensitive to light and sound when they come, particularly sound and definitely usually when storms are enroute. Woohoo, human barometer! Super helpful! I use red wine, also helps open vessels to promote blood flow. Wondering if there's validity to drinks salt water and lemon for migraine?! Dr Boster can you address spinal lesion pain? I can't find ANY information on this At all. I have super tender spots on my spine that I'm trying to understand. How can I manage it, it's always there and always painful.
I hate migraines. I've been dealing with them for 11 years. I've been on a few different preventatives but noting helped until Botox. I am down to 3 a week now. I was having 6 a week.
What about black spots in your field of vision? I never got the white lights, just black spots when trying to move. Literal black spots and they get bigger or smaller while popping in and out.
You said that Migraine pain is a throbbing pain. My headaches aren’t quite the same. No throbbing just constant searing pain and always on the right starting behind my eyebrow. Does this mean these headaches aren’t migraines? I think sometimes a person says they’re having headaches and it’s just assumed to be migraines. Are there other types of headaches? If so would those be treated differently?? I’ve taken you up on the water challenge and I’m a fan of caffeine. I try not to take my ‘emergency’ pain meds until the pain level gets up to a 7-8. Maybe, I shouldn’t wait to see if it rises, but don’t want to take these to often either. This is nearly constant at a 3-4 which is manageable pain to me. Headaches are so tricky!! But I really don’t think mine are migraines from your description. Thanks for all you do!! 🤗❤️❤️
Migraines suck! They take everything and amplify it (especially pain). Sounds hurt moving hurts, light hurts. A few years ago, I found a candle that helped with my migraines (which is weird, because usually I’m sensitive to scents when they hit), but the company has decided to take that scent off the market. Most of the time, I have to function through the migraine as best as I can. It’s getting harder to do though. Migraines often amplify my fatigue. I won’t have the energy for as long as normal during a migraine.
What about different type of headache, I get regular headaches and migraines but every now and then I get a headache that feels exactly like a brain freeze but not from food or drinks or anything last from 10 min to 2 hours in my the top of my forehead area... what could that be and is this a normal complaint for MS patients?
Twinkle, Twinkle, in my eye, lets me know I soon will cry.
Drink lots of water and caffeine, or over the toilet I will lean.
My body laughs at pain medicines, so prevention is key before a migraine begins!

Hi Dr. Boster, I have migraines "without pain" . My neurologist had a name for them, I just cannot remember the name.
Same here. He called it a silent migraine.
Can Ms migraines be accompanied with one sided ear and nasal pain?
yes
Brain fog every day
