Dome Romantik is a roguelike mining game, where you go on a run to strip multiple planets of their minerals, while the native creatures furiously try to stop you. They come in waves, so you have to carefully consider your mining activities to return just in time to defend you dome. Greed can be deadly, information a viable tool for survival. Powerful upgrades will help you stay alive and be productive until you can move on to the next world.

The achievement is definitely one you have to aim for. I got it last night after stockpiling a bunch of resources and then connecting the lift to them. (I bought the game like 2 days ago, partly because of Reto, it’s really fun!)

I seen on the news today that a man got stuck by lightning after reflecting it and due to the shock absorbed, he died in the process. His last words were ‘retroman said you can’t reflect lightning, I proved him wrong’

My number one suggestion for this game so far is to have an upgrade that reduces or stops the drill kickback when mining.
maybe if you can instantly break it, then it doesn't knock you back a bit?

Not looking to Yuck anyone's Yum, but does anyone else feel like this game lacks a bit of replayability? I put a few hours into the game and beat it a few times. Each run feels very same-y. There doesn't seem to be as much decision making as other roguelikes. That being said, I love watching Retro play it! Great videos - super chill and enjoyable to have on the side :).

I got the 80 in the lift w/o adjusting my play very much. I just dug way down so it took the orbs a longer time to return, and then I didn not bring anything back manually, only the basic lift. It was really challenging because it slowed my progression so much since I effectively didnt turn in 80 things
I recommend purchasing the iron ore converter option, it turns 1 iron into 4 I believe? does make for quite a bit and gets water conversion basically for free.
the issue is that it takes 2.5 cycles, making it way too cumbersome to actually use practically

You'll probably see this once you're on vacation, but since it's a vacation why not just play stuff you enjoy only, that way you're still getting you time in. We'll still watch, and maybe it'll let you play something you otherwise wouldn't have cause of view count

Just as a note, as somebody who has been trying a good amount of Huge/You Asked For It runs with the sword, either the cobalt upgrades for the sword don't work or they're so bad it's laughable. Or I'm doing something wrong and the game isn't communicating things properly (or I'm just a fool). Regardless, none of those options are good
Also, just as a fun fact: because I think it's interesting - in this game, it's often not technically optimal to mine in the form you've been doing! The 1/2/1 strip mining technique is 100% optimal for uncovering every ore, but it comes with the downside of being slow. Because most gold veins generate with at least one ore vertical, Advanced Techniques(tm) for higher difficulties are to instead do 1/3/1, because it'll get almost the exact same amount of gold 50% faster. However, this has the obvious downsides of a) less water and cobalt (because they often generate in single veins, you'll miss like half of them, which impacts survivability if you don't play perfectly AND run variety through gadget upgrades) and b) being less satisfying.
There are legitimate upsides to both styles, and I just think that's neat. Hell, strip mining isn't even technically optimal for winning all runs because if you're going sideways you're not going down towards your win con and the veins lower down are bigger. But it's definitely the most consistent method

Love this series but it kills me when you say adding orbs is pointless! The whole reason that one is infinite seems to me because the longer you make the lift, you need to keep adding orbs in order to maintain the same rate of frequency!

I feel like it’s better to have the “sub-optimal mining” segment at the very beginning of the run, right out of the dome. Cause it’s the easiest waves and it’s not the end of the world so long as later on you can better navigate your mine
