When extended the car is down, when you retract them the car should go up or maybe even jump ! I don't know how but you should be able to fit the car in an other video like multiplayer monday maybe. (Like if you also want this to happen)

Make a transformation race: Hovercraft race with bombs on the ground, Car checkpoint race, Airplane Obstacle Gate Race. Or make a no bearing race with a 30 min time limit Or an only thrusters race ( the Vehicle is only made out of thrusters) Or make a beyblade race.

That spring car is cool it reminds me of a toy monster truck that i have. it has a spring loaded mechanism and it will flip when you push down some Sorta switch in the back.
Scrap Man you'r overlooking a small detail in the first drawing the pole u see coming out of the front is a piston and that's how it extends and retracts

You should do a multiplayer Monday like the toaster challenge. Have a vehicle that launches a explosion at a target platform from below. Your challenge is to destroy the most of the target. The others have to build a machine to take out the most explosives midair before they hit. The player with the most destruction to the targets by the end wins after three rounds.
That pain watching him make the first car without the piston... Not only the spring was supposed to be powered by the piston, the fixed beam he made in the back prevented the spring from fully expanding. It just makes no sense even if he wasn't following the "blueprints" god dammit.
I was going to ask how Scrapmans spring car design can even work considering basic rules of geometry, but clearly scrap mechanic and bearings don't really care and just give in.

the reason the first one doesn't work is because the way scissor mechanism work is the more compressed it is the wider the two ends are and you have it set up to where one of the ends can't be compressed.
you should do one of these again, but for trailmakers/gamecraft, but don't tell people you are doing it in that, and see if you can make the creations within those games.

I believe the concept of the first car was that the thing sticking out the back is a piston and when it is retracted the spring expands.

the bit on the back of the car drawing is a piston to do the extension. you also didnt put bearings on the back of the car which is why it leans

You have to replace the pipes at the back with pistons, that works better😉
