Lots of useful info in this video! Thank you so much! I've been in Plastics for 17 years, and I never had this explained in this amount of detail!

On some abs we use a foaming agent that helps with sinks, witch makes the path bigger.

    I have question!
How we should measure the initial shrinkage of plastic? Please help me

Hello! The way that we do it is to measure the steel size of the cavity. For example, if have the steel size of the cavity which is 62.5mm x 49.5 mm, anything under this measurement is plastic shrinkage. We initially measure the parts immediately when they come off the machine and again 24 hours later to check total shrinkage. So looking at a sample part off the machine we measure a length of 61.30mm and width of 48.65mm, which calculates to a 1.92% shrinkage along the length and 1.71% on the width. After 24 hours the plastic has continued to shrink and the final shrinkage is 2.97% on the length and 2.34% along the width. Hopefully this answers your question.

I’m having trouble with splay on the corner of my part’s now, only coming every 4 to 5 parts

Sounds like a venting issue to me, or excessive moisture in tool or material..
