Awesome because I'm also going to get a double din radio for mine when I get the car but I wanted to check if this was the correct video to watch as a tutorial
Hey Casey, thanks for watching. I've done every stereo i have ever bought, and some of my friends as well. If you take the time to get the proper harnesses and kits needed for your exact application, it can be done by anyone. The hardest part for a first timer might be connecting the wires. Butt connectors work good, I used to use them, but I prefer not to after I tried soldering. Give it a try!
Alberta gang 😂 I’m 6 years late to this video but I’m planning on getting a cobalt ss and I’m obsessed with having a good stereo so this actually provides some insight
If you listen in the later part of the video, that harness wasn't needed. The sales girl didn't know her job entirely. The PAC module is used to connect to the existing car harness for the factory chimes, etc to play through the speakers.
Hey Allison, the harness I used kept the chimes, but I didn't get the additional harness for the steering wheel controls, because I had a few lights that didn't work anyway.
I've heard if I use a double din radio in my cobalt I'll lose my driver information center. After your install does your driver information center still work?
I know your video is a couple years old but I have a question if you can answer it for me. When you did the install where you able to retain the auto dimmer feature in the vehicle and did it effect the radio? I am about to install a new DVD dbl din into my 2007 cobalt. The radio has a dimmer feature on it, but I can't seem to find any info on the auto dim feature that is already present in the cobalt. I would like to retain this feature as, the aftermarket dvd player can and probably will be very bright at night. Any info you can provide I would appreciate it thanks.
Hey Rolandro, if there is no sound, troubleshoot the easiest first and work from there. Make sure mute isn't on, yes people have done that. Then you can check to make sure the harness is fully connected. If it is, what I would do is find a speaker I know works, and connect to any speaker wire leads.
I just purchased a 07 Pontiac G5 so, I ordered a wiring kit & installation kit w/ antenna extension However, I have not heard anything about that PAC (Radio Replacement Interface) C2R-GM11b... My G5 has the black factory cd player w/ 3.5mm aux chord in bottom right corner. DO I NEED THAT INTERFACE THING TO INSTALL MY 2 DIN?
Please let me know if you can use these parts for a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt LT and what is the measurements on the radio you installed? Do you know if the Chinese radios made will fit the Cobalt? Also, was this installation with an Onstar/XM satellite radio wiring system radio? Thanks for your video!
There was a little scuffed iffy wire/fuse in my central passenger side fuse box I removed, and I also added interior LEDs but didnt mess with any fuses, but now my headunit wont turn on. What did I do and how do I fix it?
This video actually helped me out a lot man, really appreciate it. I'm actually getting an 06' Chevy cobalt ls 2 door in a few weeks & planned on doing exactly what you did to your cobalt. My only flaw is that I know nothing about installing radios and a subwoofer lol. I've heard I can go to Best Buy, buy what I want installed into my cobalt & also have them install it for me, is that true ? And price ranging, I can care less but I just wanna know what I'm looking at here. Overall great video man!
Thanks for sharing! Could you please help on 2 questions? 1) The bought stereo wire harness kit provides a separate red cable for 12V power connection since Cobalt radio harness does not provide a switched power source. So how did you connect this 12V power cable? 2) The original radio stereo box has 2 connectors on the back: a big one (24-pin) which you already showed in your video, the other smaller one which I could not find in your demo. Did you use this smaller connector to connect to your Pioneer stereo box? Or just leave the smaller connector open w/o any connection. Thanks again!
2 questions for you, I installed a similar DVD DIN radio to a Chevy HHR and it appears my reverse lights went out, so dose the violet/black wire need to be hooked up for the reverse lights? Or is that a different layout from the radio schematics? Second questions, when you got your DVD to play, what did you mean that you put the green brake wire to "ground"?
Not sure about that vehicle, there could be enough of a wiring difference between them. And I refer to the light green wire that acts as a ground in the park brake
When you said the harness came with the car what do you mean ? I have the C2R-GM11b do i need a extra harness is that what you meant in the video ? And if so Where do you buy it at ?
I have a 07 Chevy cobalt I put in my radio double dim alpine it's a regular cobalt no stirring wheel control and my speakers not giving me any sound anything you suggest thanks
Hey @xTheEvilClownx I see that you don't have the car anymore, but I was wondering if you had any issues with white noise after installing the new head unit. I just installed the Pioneer AVH 4000NEX into mine and it has a hiss as well as the stereo is extremely loud, as even 3 out of 50 is more than loud enough.
Night Fox check to make sure you have a good clean ground connection first off. Do you have any accessories like an aftermarket amp installed? Best bet is double check your connections. Sometimes cheap connectors with poor insulation can cause interference between power and ground wires.
Thanks for replying. I am using the stock amp and sub. I will check the ground connections. I have the steering wheel controller (SWI-RC), aftermarket stereo harness (C2R-GM11B), and the stereo ground itself. Would an improper ground cause the hiss AND the loudness? Thanks again!
Is it true that with a double-din you won’t get access to the driver info center? I’ve never heard of such a thing but that’s what Crutchfield shows for the cobalt.
Hi, I have a Chevy cobalt ss is there a to connect a aux port from the back? By going through the same way you did? Please reply thank you so much! Your videos is amazing.
Melissa M if the stereo you’re installing doesn’t have one, the only other option would be a hack into the Sirius with an six cord with one end cut off
Hey mate i have a 2007chevy cobalt ss 2dr coupe i plan in installing a AVH 2700BT POINEER 2DIN RADIO AFTER READING THE MANUAL IT SAID IF THE RADIO ISNT A SINGLE DIN I WILL LOOSE ALL MY DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER AND SINCE MY CSR HAS THE PIONEER STOCK FACTORY AUDIO IN IT IT ALWAYS STATES I NEED A CERTAIN PIONEER HARNESS TO EVEN MAKE THE RADIO COME ON OR WORK CAN YOU GIVE ME ANY ADVICE AND THE OTHER QUESTION IS DO YOU KNOW IF THE BACK DECK WITCH IS LOCATED RIGHT BEHIND THE BACK SEAT HEAD REST CAN I REMOVE THAT TO FIT A SUBWOOFER BOX IN THERE OR DOES THAT NOT COME OFF THANKS SO MUCH
Aaron Hollock yes my factory sub had worked after the install without issues. I had later installed a stronger aftermarket subwoofer but factory had worked
xTheEvilClownx do you remember where you bought your install kits and stuff? Crutch field is trying to sell me there's for 100 bucks with everything needed
Did your 2006 Chevy Cobalt have the Pioneer Amp and speaker, I want to the steering wheel controls where did you buy everything and do you know how much for everything less that radio you put in...How much for the steering wheel adapter
My car doesnt have the radio controls for the wheel either, its an LS without onstar i just need to have the adapters so my sub and amp will work with a new radio and still be able to use my info center
My stereo has absolutely no issues since I made this video. Like I said, I don't use the steering controls, which I can still add later, but besides that, no issues. I'd shop around. Sounds like someone is trying to make money from you.
In my opinion, There is nothing better then, A volume Knob! I hate having to take my eye's off the road to find a button! The good old fashion VOLUME KNOB REINS SUPREME!!!!!! Did u wire in that chime box just to turn it off? So, Can a aftermarket radio be installed into a Pontiac G5, Cobalt, etc, WITHOUT THAT PAC Radio Replacement Interface C2R-GM11b??? Can it be done without it & still get all the chimes???
I actually don't have the car anymore, but I believe there is a roll pin holding it in place. The one in the video came with the car when I bought it used
Use a small thin screwdriver & pry off the top with the shift pattern on it. There's a Torx screw under it. Unscrew but not completely. Then use a small 2 jaw puller attached to the bottom of the knob, pushing the puller's screw down onto the shifter knob's screw. It'll pop right off. From there completely remove the screw & it comes off. The shaft is splined. A stock replacement shifter knob is $100 or more if it's the leather wrapped one.
I have a question concerning the standard radio the cobalt comes with ive been gone out of the country 10 months working over seas and i came back to find my that my radio isnt working any more no power nothing at all. The fuse is fine and the wires are fine as well any and all advice helpful.
Check that you have the correct antenna adapter first off, it should be a 90 degree one. Second, check that your dash mounting kit is as far out as it can go, spacers included. Also be sure to get all of the wiring harness as low as you can when doing the final install. It's a tight fit for sure. Hope that helps.
Hey mate, I’m sure you’re not seeing these comments on this video after four years but currently I’m changing my stereo on my cobalt and the instructions to add the adapter for steering wheel controls is confusing me. Did you add steering wheel controls after this video and can u help me pls?
xTheEvilClownx thanks for replying back, I would have to say it’s the instructions that the website is giving me is what’s confusing me. I got the ASWC-1 steering wheel control adapter and it’s typical to connect my ground black wire and 12v red wire but it also explains to connect a wire in pin A10 to the red wire and the pin in A11 to the green/yellow wire. What’s confusing me is that I think these pins are from the radio connector, would it be a good idea to splice these wires to the cobalts radio connector?
Hey Jackson, you shouldn't have any issues if you have all the correct harnesses. Any credible electronic store should be able to provide everything you need. As far as the back decking, I don't think you can remove it, but I could be wrong.
Hey, I've been told by best buy that in order to install my new stereo, I need to buy a 200 dollar unit that relocates my Driver information center as they believe it runs through the radio. Is that BS? Yours worked fine after this right?
Yeah it's an '06. Registration says so. SS model. And I've never had to disconnect the battery. Why would I need to? I've installed my own stereo in every vehicle I've owned. I don't have to splice wires for this install under power so there's no need.
Redant23 I'm having the same issue. What I'm finding is that you have to get an ACC wire and run it to the fuse box. I haven't attempted it yet though.
Jessica LaHue yeah I have the same issue. I ended up hooking the red wire to the fan control switch. The only way I can get it to turn on and off when the car starts. Of course the only issue is when I adjust the fan control speed the radio shuts off.
so sonic electronix just sent me the wrong harness,so i have to wait for more days after taking out the radio and then putting it back smh, can you explain how you connected the wires on the harness?
How many car audio systems have u done before that one. Looks very professional and I've never done one but u made it look doable. Yea or NO on tryin' for 1st install?
Brilliant! This is exactly what In needed. I do have a question though, can you should a video on how to set up the cable to the parking break? That's the only part i didn't quite understand. Thanks!
okay I have the same car and my adapter that I'm putting a radio in I get power and everything but the speaker wires on the adapter is not lining up the holes are empty I think I got the wrong adapter but it fits
Partywolf, it's just the option differences between the models. I chose the pioneer deck because it matched the existing subwoofer, and I have always had great luck with pioneer.
They want you to wire that wire to the parking brake so that it cannot be operated while the car is moving but, IF YOU SIMPLY ATTACH THAT WIRE TO A GROUND( ANY CLEAN PIECE OF METAL, IT WILL WORK WHENEVER YOU WANT, Not just when the emergency brake is on!!! Some sterio's you can just ground the wire labelled, "Parking Brake" but, Some other manufactures require an ON, OFF, ON SIGNAL ON THAT "PARKING BRAKE WIRE SO, Simply wire in a toggle switch! Run the parking brake wire to a toggle switch & then run the existing connection to ground!
I got a stupid question. I know the video is old but did you have any issues with you key fob? I installed a new aftermarket deck today and now my fucking key fob doesn’t work. I don’t know what I might have fucked up tho
xTheEvilClownx thanks man. Just seemed weird because it was working today. With my old jvc deck that pretty much blew itself up and then I put a kenwood single din and now it won’t work. Just thought I’d get some input lol. Thank you
Hey guys. I put a touch screen in my 08 cobalt L's. It works but it won't turn on with the key? I have to turn the power on from the radio. Anyone know how to make it turn on when I turn the key on?
Anthony Todd sounds like you have some wires mixed up. Did you use a harness or wire it yourself? Red is usually the battery for clock and yellow will be the accessory that will turn it on with ignition
Yes I bought the harness with the interface. I have to have the yellow wires hooked up to the red for it to even turn on. If I have both the yellows hooked up by themselves it won't even turn on
That's the only way it will turn on is if the red and yellow are wired together. I've never had this problem before if I take the yellow away from the red it won't even turn on manually nor with the key like I'm trying to get it to do.
Anthony Todd that's what I did red with yellow. Seems to be the only way it will work. Though I did try hooking the red wire to the ac fan switch, it now comes on when the car comes on, but radio of course will turn off if I change the fan switch.
Hey I'm having trouble with mine. I have pioneer avh-4000dvd. I have 2006 cobalt SS. Harness I bought it from eBay. For some reason I can't hear any sound and screen is flickering and I can hardly see the screen. Can someone please explain how I can hook it up. I have 3 wires coming out off after market harness other I connected with matching colours. The three colours are blue, black (ground) and yellow(12v). Can someone help me out thanks
Just bought an 06 cobalt and new touch screen stereo for it. Had no idea what I was doing....til I watched your video. Thanks.
Awesome because I'm also going to get a double din radio for mine when I get the car but I wanted to check if this was the correct video to watch as a tutorial
Omg truly the best walk through ever thank you for that. We need more people like you on how descriptive you get thanks again.
Hey Casey, thanks for watching. I've done every stereo i have ever bought, and some of my friends as well. Alberta gang 😂 I’m 6 years late to this video but I’m planning on getting a cobalt ss and I’m obsessed with having a good stereo so this actually provides some insight
Thanks man! By far the most thorough walkthrough I've seen for this. Just finished with mine following your instructions and it works great!
Great video bro u must have had high winds or a tornado waiting on u to pull it out of the garage lol
If you listen in the later part of the video, that harness wasn't needed. The sales girl didn't know her job entirely. The PAC module is used to connect to the existing car harness for the factory chimes, etc to play through the speakers.

I've heard if I use a double din radio in my cobalt I'll lose my driver information center. After your install does your driver information center still work?
I hear that a lot, but no, it won't affect it at all. Everything works as it should if you do what I did.
xtheevilclownx ok awesome thank you. I can finally get my radio knowing everything will work just fine
I had check engine light but I think I'm missing the module
I know your video is a couple years old but I have a question if you can answer it for me. Then you can check to make sure the harness is fully connected. If it is, what I would do is find a speaker I know works, and connect to any speaker wire leads.
how much did this cost when it was all finished?
I just purchased a 07 Pontiac G5 so, I ordered a wiring kit & installation kit w/ antenna extension However, I have not heard anything about that PAC (Radio Replacement Interface) C2R-GM11b... My G5 has the black factory cd player w/ 3.5mm aux chord in bottom right corner. DO I NEED THAT INTERFACE THING TO INSTALL MY 2 DIN?
Do you need the antenna adapter
hey man! could you go in depth a little more about the parking break thing? where did you hook it up?
Did you ever find this out?
Where did you pick up the peace that the stereo goes into so it can be screwed in. And please what size etc. If you have time that is. Cheers
How did you know which wires from the PAC to solder to the radio harness?
Where did you buy the harnesses and the stereo interface and how much were they? Every where i look theyre $75+ online
There was a little scuffed iffy wire/fuse in my central passenger side fuse box I removed, and I also added interior LEDs but didnt mess with any fuses, but now my headunit wont turn on. What did I do and how do I fix it?
Did you did the SWC? Im struggling with it.
Hey, did you're info button still scroll thorough trip, mileage, and mpg after the install?
Do you need anything for the factory amp? Or how does that wire in
This video actually helped me out a lot man, really appreciate it. I'm actually getting an 06' Chevy cobalt ls 2 door in a few weeks & planned on doing exactly what you did to your cobalt. And price ranging, I can care less but I just wanna know what I'm looking at here. Overall great video man!
Did you end up getting it all working? And did you do it yourself or have someone else do it?
How can I solve the problem that the audible alerts (bells) that warn you of an open door are not heard, etc.
For sure Allison, I just wasn't getting the tabs lined up quite right, but everything still works as it should
Thanks for sharing!
Lucy what year is your cobalt? The harness I used had the power wire connection to the PAC module and was a direct connection to the factory harness.
The smaller harness I believe is for the satellite radio
How about if you don't get the interface, will it still work without it?
Please tell me why it says mp3 on the stereo is that a different kind for the stock stereo? Mine Dosent say that and I have a 2006 chevy cobalt lt
2 questions for you, I installed a similar DVD DIN radio to a Chevy HHR and it appears my reverse lights went out, so dose the violet/black wire need to be hooked up for the reverse lights? When you said the harness came with the car what do you mean ? I have the C2R-GM11b do i need a extra harness is that what you meant in the video ? And if so Where do you buy it at ?
No I think I was referring to the aftermarket stereo harness.
You can actually hooked at wire for the parking brake to a negative side of one of the speakers and It will work
What size is the radio and what dash kit do I get
Where did you tap into the fuse box
Shouldn't be a need to splice into anything if you use the wiring harness and factory adapter kits
is there anti theft bypass you have to get by
I have a 07 Chevy cobalt I put in my radio double dim alpine it's a regular cobalt no stirring wheel control and my speakers not giving me any sound anything you suggest thanks
Hey @xTheEvilClownx I see that you don't have the car anymore, but I was wondering if you had any issues with white noise after installing the new head unit.
What did you use the cr2?
Is it true that with a double-din you won’t get access to the driver info center? I’ve never heard of such a thing but that’s what Crutchfield shows for the cobalt.
TheGeekyGiant not true. Everything worked as it should after the install for me
xTheEvilClownx thank you! I figured as much, As it made no sense, but being on Crutchfield had me confused.
Do you have a link to all the stuff?
What mount did u use?
is there a radio code for security?
how much does it cost, not including the cost of the deck itself.
Hi, I have a Chevy cobalt ss is there a to connect a aux port from the back? By going through the same way you did? Please reply thank you so much! Your videos is amazing.
Melissa M if the stereo you’re installing doesn’t have one, the only other option would be a hack into the Sirius with an six cord with one end cut off
the question is will the steering wheel control buttons work with the new stereo?
They would if the SWC harness is added. But in my case, as i mentioned in the video, I didn't add that harness.
Hey Kason, just check around in any electronic store. Most of my stuff was bought at future shop/best buy.
Hey mate i have a 2007chevy cobalt ss 2dr coupe i plan in installing a AVH 2700BT POINEER 2DIN RADIO AFTER READING THE MANUAL IT SAID IF THE RADIO ISNT A SINGLE DIN I WILL LOOSE ALL MY DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER AND SINCE MY CSR HAS THE PIONEER STOCK FACTORY AUDIO IN IT IT ALWAYS STATES I NEED A CERTAIN PIONEER HARNESS TO EVEN MAKE THE RADIO COME ON OR WORK CAN YOU GIVE ME ANY ADVICE AND THE OTHER QUESTION IS DO YOU KNOW IF THE BACK DECK WITCH IS LOCATED RIGHT BEHIND THE BACK SEAT HEAD REST CAN I REMOVE THAT TO FIT A SUBWOOFER BOX IN THERE OR DOES THAT NOT COME OFF THANKS SO MUCH
What did you ground it to or connect it to make the video play.
You should be able to find the grounding point by the emergency brake handle
Yes Bryan, everything works as it should
xTheEvilClownx did the sub woofer work as well? I'm reading on crutch field that the sub won't work. If anyone can help that would help me a lot.
Aaron Hollock yes my factory sub had worked after the install without issues. I had later installed a stronger aftermarket subwoofer but factory had worked
xTheEvilClownx do you remember where you bought your install kits and stuff? Crutch field is trying to sell me there's for 100 bucks with everything needed
how much did all this cost together?
Did your 2006 Chevy Cobalt have the Pioneer Amp and speaker, I want to the steering wheel controls where did you buy everything and do you know how much for everything less that radio you put in...How much for the steering wheel adapter
Tim my cobalt does have the pioneer system. I purchased everything at Best Buy. Off hand I'm guessing $200 give or take should get everything you need
Whats steering control? Or driver info center? Or Onstar?
mine i had trouble i wired every thing but i had extra wire inside a gray one
but it was seperate and it didnt play any music
same with me what was the problem
Hey Justin, everything should be shown in the wiring diagrams. Match color to color, double check with wiring diagrams and you should do fine.
hello there, im wondering if you have any idea of where's the amplifier of the etéreo?
I believe the amplifier is on the right side by the factory subwoofer
In my opinion, There is nothing better then, A volume Knob! I hate having to take my eye's off the road to find a button! The good old fashion VOLUME KNOB REINS SUPREME!!!!!! Did u wire in that chime box just to turn it off? So, Can a aftermarket radio be installed into a Pontiac G5, Cobalt, etc, WITHOUT THAT PAC Radio Replacement Interface C2R-GM11b??? Can it be done without it & still get all the chimes???
U had no check engine light after that?
Not at all no
How did you replace the stock/factory shift knob? I can't find any videos on how to.
I actually don't have the car anymore, but I believe there is a roll pin holding it in place. The one in the video came with the car when I bought it used
Use a small thin screwdriver & pry off the top with the shift pattern on it. There's a Torx screw under it. Unscrew but not completely. You should look up Chrisfix TH-cam channel he shows you how to do it that is if you still haven’t figured it out yet
Did you have to run a power wire to fuse box
Curtis Shavers not at all. With the kit, should be no reason to
@@xtheevilclownx thanks
I have a question concerning the standard radio the cobalt comes with ive been gone out of the country 10 months working over seas and i came back to find my that my radio isnt working any more no power nothing at all. The fuse is fine and the wires are fine as well any and all advice helpful.
she's fried
Thx.
+ThePhantom712 might be fried though if you boosted the battery
+Wubbzyyy yeahh thats what we did. thx again.
Thanks! I will try it out in summer!
Hey man My unit won't fill all the way into the dash, the wires in the back seem to be stopping it, any suggestions?
Check that you have the correct antenna adapter first off, it should be a 90 degree one. Second, check that your dash mounting kit is as far out as it can go, spacers included. Also be sure to get all of the wiring harness as low as you can when doing the final install. It's a tight fit for sure. Hope that helps.
Hey mate, I’m sure you’re not seeing these comments on this video after four years but currently I’m changing my stereo on my cobalt and the instructions to add the adapter for steering wheel controls is confusing me. Did you add steering wheel controls after this video and can u help me pls?
Victor Lara I never did install steering wheel controls. Just about any kit you have should give instructions how. What’s got you stumped?
xTheEvilClownx thanks for replying back, I would have to say it’s the instructions that the website is giving me is what’s confusing me. I got the ASWC-1 steering wheel control adapter and it’s typical to connect my ground black wire and 12v red wire but it also explains to connect a wire in pin A10 to the red wire and the pin in A11 to the green/yellow wire. What’s confusing me is that I think these pins are from the radio connector, would it be a good idea to splice these wires to the cobalts radio connector?
xTheEvilClownx it’s cool if ya don’t know, thanks for the reply anyways I will figure it out.
Hey Jackson, you shouldn't have any issues if you have all the correct harnesses. Any credible electronic store should be able to provide everything you need. As far as the back decking, I don't think you can remove it, but I could be wrong.
All i can find is the same harness that i have allready bought where did u get urs?
Best buy
Can you fit a smaller radio in the car if that is all you can afford?
I have a 2003 Cobalt.
Absolutely. The mounting kit will look a little different but otherwise you won't have any issues
The dvd player wont work for me where is the spot that im suppose to put the wire to the parking break or whatever?
Should be a light green wire in the center console to splice into
Thank you ! Going to look now.
Hey man could you tell me where you got the setup I want to do the same one just can't find the stuff
Everything I needed I found at Best Buy. Any automotive electronics place should have what you need
I used the Scosche GM1599B In-dash installation kit
But your Driver Information Center still shows your mileage and engine temp and all that?
For 05 and 06 cobalts you need the Metra 99-3303. It's a pain in the ass.
Hey, I've been told by best buy that in order to install my new stereo, I need to buy a 200 dollar unit that relocates my Driver information center as they believe it runs through the radio. Is that BS? Yours worked fine after this right?
That doesn't apply to the Chevy Cobalt, since the Driver Information Center is placed on the dash, not on the stereo.
Only if it is a 05 or 06.
Yeah it's an '06. Registration says so. SS model. And I've never had to disconnect the battery. Why would I need to? I've installed my own stereo in every vehicle I've owned. I don't have to splice wires for this install under power so there's no need.
Thanks for the video.
Why is there no ingnition wire to attach too? what is th he fix. I hate having to remember to turn off my radio?
Redant23 I'm having the same issue. What I'm finding is that you have to get an ACC wire and run it to the fuse box. I haven't attempted it yet though.
Jessica LaHue yeah I have the same issue. I ended up hooking the red wire to the fan control switch. The only way I can get it to turn on and off when the car starts. Of course the only issue is when I adjust the fan control speed the radio shuts off.
so sonic electronix just sent me the wrong harness,so i have to wait for more days after taking out the radio and then putting it back smh, can you explain how you connected the wires on the harness?
Harness should come with a wiring diagram that will tell you exactly which colors from the factory adapter tie into the upgraded stereo harness
Is this the same guide for a 2009 cobalt ls?
I would guess that year would have pretty much the same system.
Where could i ground the video wire to. Could i ground it in the fuse panwl
Ebrake would be best
Bryan is yours supercharged?
How many car audio systems have u done before that one. Looks very professional and I've never done one but u made it look doable. Yea or NO on tryin' for 1st install?
what about the steering wheel controls?
There will be a harness for that as well, I just didn't bother with it. Should be about $30 more I think. Easy to connect.
well there is like 30 here in mexico is la 150 haha :/
i have a 3800 pioneer. stereo. i have an cobalt ss 2009. all options. any videos on how to install.
Exact same but make sure you get the specific pac module and harness as it's different for 08-10
Yes it sounds like the wrong one
mine has no sound when i put factory stereo back in it has sound help please
Double check your harnesses are done up properly. Any power to it?
Partywolf, it's just the option differences between the models. I chose the pioneer deck because it matched the existing subwoofer, and I have always had great luck with pioneer.
What did you end up doing with the blue/white remote wire? Everything is working, but there's no sound (regardless of input or source)
How do you get your speedometer to 260
Ronald Aguilar kilometers
The parking brake wire goes right back to the emergency brake handle in my case, and there is not blue wire I spliced it to
xTheEvilClownx u do know u can just wire the parking brake wire (pink) to the ground wire...... I have it like that and my system plays great!
EK GANG it shouldn’t have any effect whatsoever. I’d try a new battery first, if not, may need to be reprogrammed by a dealer
xTheEvilClownx thanks man.
If I have both the yellows hooked up by themselves it won't even turn on
Anthony Todd the red and yellow shouldn’t be wired together. The red should be a fused connection to the battery
You have installed the interface as well? Triple check all your connections. Give them a tug test to make sure they are strongly connected.
No I didn't install interface. Do you I have too?
So if I have a 2010 Chevrolet cobalt what size radio do I have to use?? & what all do I need to install it??
Gm13sr is that right
No idea. They should be able to get you exactly what you need
That would depend on your country, deck price, etc. This install was less than $500
Yes has power radio turns on but no sound
Maybe your speaker harness isnt hooked up or faulty
Looks like this is a common problem.
do i have to get the radio interface or can i go without it?
Makaveli The Stylist the interface is vital if you want everything to work
Someone have a link for all the parts he bought?
