I was playing the Tortoise and a Tiger player tried ramming me past a corner I knew 3 or so tabks were watching Little did the Tiger player know, the Tortoise does not move well under its own power, so I just stomped it into reverse and ran the Tiger player into a river
12:30 the little plane thing shows up when a teammate does the "Air alert!" Thing in radio (T-6-1 by default iirc). If they do that while looking in the direction of the plane, it'll show their bearing and estimated altitude in chat, as well as show up on everyone's compass for a bit.
To add on to it, the report is relative to you. So if your team mate spots a plane in the centre of the map from the opposite side of you, like "Air! 360!", it will report to you as "180". So this is a little smart

That version of the Weapon carrier also mounted the same PAK-43, and has the same 360 degree gun traverse. The difference is that instead of using RSO artillery tracktor as chassis, the Ardelt variant used Panzer 38(t) chassis which offer somewhat better mobility than the one ingame lol

While both designs were supposed to have a 35km/h road speed only the steyr achieved this, the ardelt only got about 26km/h road speed in testing. This is because the prototype used a weaker engine, the steyr used a 140hp boxer engine, the ardelt used a 98hp mayback hl42 engine. A 180hp praga engine was considered for both, but never actually tested.
Attempt number 28 at getting Spookston to play any tank with a dozer blade, the catch is, he has to dig in before engaging targets. Movement around the map is allowed, but he has to dig in again before reengaging.

Right, If its one of those like Capture the enemies point maps. And there is dense foliage anywhere near the obj they can hide in. Its like a damn slasher movie and your just waiting for your number to be called.
I almost never rat but the Waffentrager has one of my highest KDs thanks to sitting it stupid spots and reversing back to peak and snipe tanks. Its not good but its a favourite of mine.
It points at where the plane is too at the moment the air alert was called. Very handy when the person calling it out is on the other side of the map and the bearing is not very useful
13:55 it always amazes me, when I find a good ambush spot how the enemy tanks will keep coming right into my firing line without a care in the world, while the field they are driving on is littered with burning wrecks of their teammates. let's just say that you see bloodstains in a From Software game and you know something is going to happen at that spot, but War Thunder players see destroyed tanks and think they are merely part of the scenery.
One semi-downside is having take some HE for something that you might be fighting with on your own side idk maybe its just me who doesnt trust he shells at all

@@brandonlatzig thats fine and dandy, until the time comes where the aphe just wont fuse on the light armor and you are stuck picking the crew apart, just bring HE you will learn how to use it properly in due time... OR majority of the light vehicle is behind cover you aint killing that with AP, however if you have that HE you can EASILY kill it without repositioning or risking the vehicle peeking you while you try to kill it with AP... trust me just having 2 rounds of HE opens alot of possibility the main problem at the start is to remember that you do in fact have HE xd

I think an interesting video would be on the TKX(p), the reason I say this, is because the TKX(p) is effectively the same as the TKX, but without some of the additional rolled armor (and just Dm33). What I enjoy to do in the TKX(p) is considering it has pneumatic suspension, with your dozer you can make some pretty fun hull down positions.

Most entertaining version of Spookston I've ever watched. Also the guy shooting that spooked you was because he (like me till a week ago) probably didn't know you can swap the position of ammo so he swapped his shell.
I've found with the Waffentrager that was slow as it is, you need to approach corners backwards. With the engine and transmission in front, you can just eek out the turret to shoot then drive away. It also gets the most gun depression when facing backwards IIRC.
Its not a combat vehicle by design, i think people might mistake it for one becausr it could be used in combat... but its main use was to move the gun to a place, then take it off of the chassis and use it as artillery, it is called the "gun carrier" for a reason
False, firstly by the time of these waffentragers the main role was a selfproppelled at gun, the deployable emplacement had become a secondary feature. Furthermore the gun emplacement idea was dropped before it even reached wooden mockup stage. This is because weight had already ballooned well above orginal intensions and the equipment needed for deploying the turret was seen as dead weight.
The best way I found to use the Waffelträger is to: A) find a ridge you like (if the map is open and has one [looking at you stupid Cargo Port...] ); B) Point you ass to ridge (to get the best angle of max gun depression, so you don't have to awkwardly turn when you hit your drivers forehead, and have the transmission as far away from enemy fire as possible); C) drive backwards until you can shoot at the things you want to; and finally D) if under fire or you see an angry plane, use the down slope of the ridge to get a gravitational assist for your forward gear and (try to) run. the. fuck. away. If you survive (and you feel brave enough): repeat. Otherwise it is great to see you back after your surgery. Here is to you making a full and quick recovery. Until then, take your time and maybe play something that is less... like the Waffenträger...
speaking of whacky German Prototypes, Cant wait for the Devs to find a bag of coke and adding the "Stahlgiraffe" (TVT) where they Mounted 4 PARS-3 Launcher to a 13meter tall telesopic arm to a Leopard 1 Hull or on a Marder 1 Hull
hi spookston. It seems to me like your meds are kicking in, whatever they’ve given you for the procedure hahah. You’ll be fine soon! Don’t play too much, get some rest and relax. I too suffer with this weird TD thing.
The goal was to get a power-to-weight ratio of atleast 20hp/ton, but there weren't enough available engines for the prototypes. Even the 180hp praga engine was in short supply, and so the the steyr used a 140hp boxer engine untill other engines became available. The ardelt was even worse off, only haveing access to a 98hp mayback engine. 9:25 and yes it was a custom made chassis, it did reuse modified RSO tractor components, but it didn't reuse the engine (the rso had a 84hp engine) and the suspension was strengthened. Like I said they wanted it to be more nimble but they couldn't get an engine for the project of nessiary power.
I really enjoyed playing this vehicle. It has an excellent gun and a crazy good zoom which has even better magnification than the binoculars. It’s excellent for camping and sniping.
Great on large flat maps. Hills make it painful. My favourite kill in warthunder was in 1. Lobbing a shell over a low hill at a moveing target about 12km away I could only see with my binocs (couldn't see it over the hill with the gunner sight). On maginot.
the strat with the waffle tractor is you can 2nd gear pivot way faster than you neutral steer. so have a toggle button between automatic and manual transmission modes, pop it into 2nd when you approach a corner, whip around so the reat mounted gun is the first thing to peek, and so long as you dont over-load your ammo you've got an aweful lot of empty hull back there. it has so little armor it wont even fuse every round, so you'll get overpens a lot that hit nothing important and even if it does fuse, your driver is WELL outta harms way, and you have a spare crew mate in the front to switch to the gunner position. you just haul ass forwards back into cover. also this tank is the flattest, shortest tank germany gets in this br range, so the fact you arent the size of a small village lets you hull down really easily, and its gun depression is pretty good over the back so you just reverse up to hills, if you get hit you haul ass forwards. basically if you play it like you would a shorter archer with a better gun, it works pretty good.

Day 25 of asking you to play the Challenger 2 Black Knight Spook, the hard kill APS can even intercept aircraft munitions which will help with your CAS issue! You may also want to take some HESH, as they have improved its consistency against single layer homogeneous armour since the last update.

12:31 it is what happens when a teammate calls air alert after spotting (as in, with his crew) a plane. It actually shows the rough direction of the plane if you move the camera.
This tank is actually amazing. I have a 6.0 k/d and along with a 62% win rate (yeah not amazing but for 5.7 Germany this is a herculean task). Its REALLY bad on some maps but its stable when moving and if you keep it sideways to the enemy they will always over penetrate you and basically never kill you at least not in one shot. It's also short and easy to hide, along with its amazing gun it makes it the best sniper by far tier for tier (the tiger 2 is good until you get up tiered to 7.7 and cant pen the other heavy tanks then you get destroyed by HEATFS), literally pens straight through anything and everything and if you reverse out of cover to take shots your stable suspension allows you to quickly take a shot and get back into cover. specifically on Berlin if you are on the south side of the map you go off to the right and there is a destroyed tank on a hill that overlooks the entire map. You hide behind that and reverse out to take your shots. You do that and you just win. I have had multiple games where I just use that spot and the lowest kills I have had is 5, I have gotten 5 games that are between 12 and 18 kills. Also if you dont move around much planes wont spot you, especially if you put bushes on the roof it just doesnt look like a tank from the air. Oh and it perfectly fits into the german 5.7 lineup so if you get a map that is bad for it like sweeden you still got the tiger and the panther and alot of good planes. Just because you are physically incapable of using your brain when you play a tank does not make it bad.
I'm sorry you had to suffer through this but if it's any consolation it was pretty funny and also you frankly delivered pretty good destruction while using it.
The little plane at 12:30 appears when someone uses the chat command to alert of an air attack, you have to use the command while looking at the plane and it will mark its direction on the compass above
Its a lot easier to shoot from the rear of the tank then the front, great for corners and hills. And when you take your shot, you move forward away and it's faster. I love this tank on big maps for sniping. It's a very accurate gun at long range.

When I first started fighting these I was quite scared of them. When I started bringing a little bit of HE that feeling kinda vanished

The best way I found to use the Waffelträger is to:
A) find a ridge you like (if the map is open and has one [looking at you stupid Cargo Port...] ); B) Point you ass to ridge (to get the best angle of max gun depression, so you don't have to awkwardly turn when you hit your drivers forehead, and have the transmission as far away from enemy fire as possible); C) drive backwards until you can shoot at the things you want to; and finally D) if under fire or you see an angry plane, use the down slope of the ridge to get a gravitational assist for your forward gear and (try to) run. the. fuck. away. If you survive (and you feel brave enough): repeat.
Otherwise it is great to see you back after your surgery. Here is to you making a full and quick recovery. Until then, take your time and maybe play something that is less... like the Waffenträger...
Yep, it gets much better than what spookston showed if you actually take advantage of the fact that it has a turret and is tiny

The goal was to get a power-to-weight ratio of atleast 20hp/ton, but there weren't enough available engines for the prototypes. Even the 180hp praga engine was in short supply, and so the the steyr used a 140hp boxer engine untill other engines became available. The ardelt was even worse off, only haveing access to a 98hp mayback engine.
9:25 and yes it was a custom made chassis, it did reuse modified RSO tractor components, but it didn't reuse the engine (the rso had a 84hp engine) and the suspension was strengthened. Like I said they wanted it to be more nimble but they couldn't get an engine for the project of nessiary power.
I really enjoyed playing this vehicle. It has an excellent gun and a crazy good zoom which has even better magnification than the binoculars. It’s excellent for camping and sniping.
Great on large flat maps. Hills make it painful.
My favourite kill in warthunder was in 1. Lobbing a shell over a low hill at a moveing target about 12km away I could only see with my binocs (couldn't see it over the hill with the gunner sight). On maginot.
6:40 You fuc*ing said it, I have the absolute same problem...
the strat with the waffle tractor is you can 2nd gear pivot way faster than you neutral steer. so have a toggle button between automatic and manual transmission modes, pop it into 2nd when you approach a corner, whip around so the reat mounted gun is the first thing to peek, and so long as you dont over-load your ammo you've got an aweful lot of empty hull back there. it has so little armor it wont even fuse every round, so you'll get overpens a lot that hit nothing important and even if it does fuse, your driver is WELL outta harms way, and you have a spare crew mate in the front to switch to the gunner position. you just haul ass forwards back into cover.
also this tank is the flattest, shortest tank germany gets in this br range, so the fact you arent the size of a small village lets you hull down really easily, and its gun depression is pretty good over the back so you just reverse up to hills, if you get hit you haul ass forwards. basically if you play it like you would a shorter archer with a better gun, it works pretty good.

Day 25 of asking you to play the Challenger 2 Black Knight Spook, the hard kill APS can even intercept aircraft munitions which will help with your CAS issue! You may also want to take some HESH, as they have improved its consistency against single layer homogeneous armour since the last update.

12:31 it is what happens when a teammate calls air alert after spotting (as in, with his crew) a plane. It actually shows the rough direction of the plane if you move the camera.
Brother, this is one of my favorite sniping tanks. It pens almost anything, nothing more satisfying than sniping 2000m with the waffle tractor

This tank is actually amazing. I have a 6.0 k/d and along with a 62% win rate (yeah not amazing but for 5.7 Germany this is a herculean task). Its REALLY bad on some maps but its stable when moving and if you keep it sideways to the enemy they will always over penetrate you and basically never kill you at least not in one shot. It's also short and easy to hide, along with its amazing gun it makes it the best sniper by far tier for tier (the tiger 2 is good until you get up tiered to 7.7 and cant pen the other heavy tanks then you get destroyed by HEATFS), literally pens straight through anything and everything and if you reverse out of cover to take shots your stable suspension allows you to quickly take a shot and get back into cover.
specifically on Berlin if you are on the south side of the map you go off to the right and there is a destroyed tank on a hill that overlooks the entire map. You hide behind that and reverse out to take your shots. You do that and you just win. I have had multiple games where I just use that spot and the lowest kills I have had is 5, I have gotten 5 games that are between 12 and 18 kills.
Also if you dont move around much planes wont spot you, especially if you put bushes on the roof it just doesnt look like a tank from the air. Oh and it perfectly fits into the german 5.7 lineup so if you get a map that is bad for it like sweeden you still got the tiger and the panther and alot of good planes.
Just because you are physically incapable of using your brain when you play a tank does not make it bad.
I broke both my wrists yesterday, but at least I have good content to watch from a CC also in recovery
I'm sorry you had to suffer through this but if it's any consolation it was pretty funny and also you frankly delivered pretty good destruction while using it.
The little plane at 12:30 appears when someone uses the chat command to alert of an air attack, you have to use the command while looking at the plane and it will mark its direction on the compass above
Its a lot easier to shoot from the rear of the tank then the front, great for corners and hills. And when you take your shot, you move forward away and it's faster. I love this tank on big maps for sniping. It's a very accurate gun at long range.
It always freaks me out when that ad for WT plays when I'm watching Spooks
