This abyss simply has more requirements than trio allows. First half you need AOE, need hydro (the only 4* hydro are XQ, candace, barbara, only XQ is usable), can't play pyro, can't play hyperbloom, ideally need geo (the only 4* geo are ning, noelle, kachina, gorou, basically -1 slot). Second half you need bow, high elemental hit counts, ideally Natlan character (choice between kachina and ororon), ideally shield On top of that, 12-1 has the highest DPS check ever in history as well. Genshin is basically saying "Don't play the game" with all those requirements.
It took me around 75 attemps to clear 12-1 with 3* And the funny thing is the team I made was designed keeping 12-3 in mind but I ended up playing 12-1 very efficiently and probably good rng without getting interrupted more than once I used Neuvilette, C1 Furina , Kazuha, Kachina C2 with Scroll 2nd half double hydro HB I have yet to try 12-3 with this team hopefully I will be able to 36*

Nice run! I also tried a 4* no geo clear and was able to do it with sucrose national and faruzan heizou fischl beidou but this looks more comfy
