Yes The Company felt like they had to prove their ruthlessness to JP because JP treated them like they weren’t worth a sh*t. They wanted to be enough for him. There was a subconscious feeling of “he might leave” and they wanted to put that off as long as possible or they wanted to make him possibly change his mind by any means necessary. He was always ranting about how they needed to be “the first at the bowl”. The comment section is choosing to have a selective memory. Ray and the others acted in the way they did because they wanted to do right by JP. That much is obvious. Is it 100% JP’s fault? No. But it is at least 70%.
