I'll be real, #4 feels pretty funny on a video prominently sponsored by an optimal leveling guide that speeds through content without finishing questlines and such.
I'm idiots. I actually like role-playing as my characters. I made a Mag'har Orc Shaman named "Drekgarr" and grinded Frostwolf reputation so I could have "of the Frostwolves" while I ride around on the Frostwolf snarler. And that's just one example. I'm working on a "Druid of nightmare" now and I'm grinding for Spaulders of the first Satyr now.
You forgot 1 type of player from you’re list: the Serial Character Creator, who gets stuck on character creator and have 18 low level toons. I’m that person. 😂
I was thrown off the Razageth platform twice the first time I went in. Humiliating. Then I found out that, as a DH, I could ride the storm. Man, that felt so good, watching those who mocked me fall to their doom.
I have a guy that starts playing a different game while we are in a que and when everyone is ready to start the guy said.somthing like... Yea yea just a second I just dropped in a Fortnite game. Why Fortnite you say? No clue ... If you are about to pull some shit li k that, at least be decent enough to play a real game.
I'm a player #10 and I do feel kinda bad about it. Severe social anxiety makes it almost impossible to talk to people, but I do wanna hang out and kill monsters with them 😅
What DrRhyhm said you can just have a macro that says "hello" and "thanks". Until you feel more confident. You made a post on you tube that's saying something.
Haha, number 4 reminds me of people that hit max lvl and finished all the quests just 2 days after Dragonflight started. I had a great laugh while reading the Blizz forum
10 is the one I’ve been before, but it was because of the ridiculous amount of toxicity present in the game. A lot of my talking in mmos is reduced to giving advice, chats about specific topics, and defending others from hurtful speech. But that’s it
#10 the silent ones always know exactly what to do though. They'll put near top DPS or heals, get out of stuff, and even do some MVP skillshots. Without saying a word ever.
I am #10, but I've been playing since Vanilla, been thru the whole in a guild running dungeons and raids, trying to be the best and gear up, yadda yadda. Just got tired of all that and started concentrating on the story, the quests, the stuff I could single player in the MMO and take part in group content if I wanted to. It's what works the best for me, and I'm very happy playing the way I do.
I can relate to the #9th player, even though i play this game since pff Pandaria or something still there tons of things i not know how to do or where to get it from. Many players always say WoWhead, Icy-Veins. Good for those who can understand 10 million pages of typed words down but i can't i need an actual player to show me around, and don't even mention YT videos since many of them probably outdated or not even exist anymore. So yea 9 is me as a Noob!
So #10 reminds me of someone from my first guild in Vanilla. She joined up with my IRL friends who got me into the game early on, and became one of our founding guild members. When we started using Ventrillo getting in to raiding, she hardly ever spoke but would type all the time in chat or when we grouped up. We played together often, spoke a few times, and from what I remember, her reason for not speaking was pretty much that she was embarrassed of her accent.
before a judge a mmo i always try to make it halfway to lvl cap or at least a little past lvl 30 before i judge the game this gives me a idea of how most mechincs (not all ) will shape up to the end game and if ill enjoy the combat system or not
Yeah I'm indeed a number 9 xD I won't lie I'm incredibly casual to WoW. I usually come into an expansion, Level through the content. Play a couple BG's where I get absolutely destroyed because of the ilvl. Then run around aimilessly in Ogrimar. Log off and not return for another expansion.
You forgot the forum champion, who will complain on the forums about every aspect of the game that isnt tailored just for him and yet seems to barely play the game, if at all, raid logging at best.
In FFXIV, I have macros that type out a little RP thing for when I cast my invulnerability skill (tanks only) or my rez skill (healers only) into chat Mind you, this is done with ONE button press, and I don’t RP in a dungeon outside of this…but I have it at all to communicate with the party “hey, I’m doing this” as a heads up And mind you, it is exclusively for those big skills that are not part of my regular rotation that actually NEED a heads up
What did you consider me: 1.) AFK-Farm on a Smartphone Touhou RPG while playing World // Zero or World of Warcraft (Both are MMOs) 2.) Making WoW Lostword or Touhou without altering gameplay themed 3.) Still plays Warcraft III 4.) Assume Jaina Proudmoore is Marisa Kirisame
D&D is played for the story. You can play a mmo and have zero attachment to the story. It's absorption completely divorced for many players. Is the game fun, number one question. Great story doesn't save a bad game. Bad story and great gameplay still makes a playable game. I can play any number of single player games for world adventuring. I have significantly limited ability to play games with raids and m+ style combat outside of mmos. People that rush to level cap are probably the same percentage as toxic as the people that don't.
I played on mobile internet with my PC tethered to my phone while living in a caravan in the middle of nowhere. Still managed to Tank Naxx without too many issues.
Some of the best players I have ever ran into have been the "..." guys. Topping dps charts, usually highest possible ilvl, and will be the person to solo/finish off the dungeon boss when the other 4 players get wiped all without saying a word. Although I'm not quite that good, I do consider myself a "..." tbh, I don't respond unless its someone talking/asking directly at me, and even then I usually don't, especially if they're asking for something I looted and don't need, I'll just open trade and hand it over before I hearth.
Omg I'm the roleplayer guy 😂 I just made a kul tiran warrior who decked out in full kul Tiran themed armor and I have a backstory for. This is the only way I know how to play MMOs 😅
It sucks on GW2 cause I maxed out all my character of each class and got their armor sets perfect for them so now I just hop on to play my lute on my bard ranger from time to time 😢
I don't mind u role Playing, but u don't have to be a badass tho u can wear any outfits to role player, what about cute outfits they are role play still, heck if u play most RPGs especially japanese RPGs the main characters are usually wear casual clothes
Glad you were nice to number 3. I was expecting them to get trashed too lol They probably are mostly good people who are just shy. Or they're ambitiously building a TH-cam following lol
I’m kinda #8 except I don’t role play. Knowing my interest in myth, legends and folk tales, my friend told me that WoW lore was awesome. I took the bait and now I’m hooked.
I see alot of the #2s on the forums whenever XIV is mentioned. Though half at least admit at some point they didnt actually play the game, they are just regurgitating "I heard someone else say..." bullshit.
Okay wait I gotta defend number 9! That's me (except I get top or second dps because im not an actual NPC) because I started playing like 3 weeks ago. Getting max level and at least ilvl 380ish is really quick and I took my time, but I don't know any of the dungeons tactics/mechanics or layouts and half the mechanics in the game are archaic or abandoned several expansions ago and stuff and nothing is explained, so yeah I'm max level and in okay gear but I have no fucking idea what's going on or where to go or anything. I push buttons and stuff dies, that's all I know lol.
I’m an old D&D player, doing WoW since WoD and I basically hit stuff until it dies and I can frisk its pockets/fur/handbag/don’t ask, and then skin it where possible (on a good day, that’s before it hits the ground).
Back in original vanilla my first raid Onyxia's Lair went horrible. They knew I was inexperienced, we didn't wipe but the screaming an attitude made me stay away from raids ever since. So I was the guy who did the rep grinding to get unusual mounts and perks, maxed all my primary and one secondary profession to sell on the AH - did every single quest solo, went back and did grey quests. I Laughed when solo hardcore came out, that was the style of play I did for years. Over-leveling swapping zones intl level cap. After quickly grinding through two classic test realms, figured I would try Hardcore. All went fine until grinding a mob found myself pvp flagged by a Tauren Hunter. Though I was over leveled for the zone by 4 this guy was at least 3-4 levels above me. At first had no idea what was going on since he was standing directly behind me. His pet, arrows and the pulled mobs easily finished off my toon, at this point of having a subscription since vanilla quit entirely. All of us are getting older, few desire to waste precious time to be defeated by a design glitch that can be leveraged by a "troll" As for you meeting that guy who had experience "good gear" yet was worthless in a raid group, that could be me if I choose to raid. While I missed tons of content never desired to lead others on about my inexperience stayed away from it entirely. Today I'm playing solo hardcore on a private build of WOTLK enjoying the quests, lore and content. I appreciate your content, and got a laugh from this video! Cheers.
You know, the guy who doesn't talk might just be tired of the stupid crap that his server is just going on and on about. I tried out some new mmos and while I try to communicate with people. Really quickly I realize I want nothing to do with these morons that just spam guild invite whispers that are targeted at everyone . Then there are the ones who just invite you to the guild without whispers . Would you talk to a person who just gets in your face and says " join this thing I'm in. Doesn't matter you don't know who I am, just do it!" Maybe I'm just having bad luck , but sometimes it feels like I have to play solo because of this . Sometimes I will ask something game related in chat and people are just talking about crap unrelated to the game they are playing . Maybe you can do a video on how to find a good social community. Because imo, it was easier to form a community in wrath and bc .
#3 and 8 called me out. Ive been grappling with WoW's lore for as long as I've been playing.. And I bricked a computer trying to run the cancelled Lord of the Clans point and click game. I've been RPing since 2014.. Ive read so many of the novels and trudged through the shit that was Shadowlands. I literally have a google doc Ive been working on since 2019 RESTRUCTURING the lore so I feel satisfied and can explain it to people in a concise way.
I had lagging Internet and I played a healer. Not so I wouldn't get booted but because I felt it was more manageable. Of course there was the rare time when everything froze for a second and suddenly I see we got wiped and I didn't have a chance to help at all. Believe me tho, I did care. I prepared my PC best I could to compensate for the lag. I was super on edge doing dungeons and did my very best. I often did quite good. I do remember having problems on a particular outside 'dungeon'. Running around through twisting walkways, PC lags and I'd lose sight of everyone. Had to get my bearings, and chase after them, only to fall off to my death lol Normally it didn't lag that bad.
3 :( i am lonely. I play wow cause i grew up playing it. Most of my life ive spent in games. I come back to wow over and over, farm old content on loop filling out my collection. Made a few friends years ago farming acheivements i couldnt solo. But i honestly have no investments irl.
9# Yep thats me, i get a lot of dungeons without tankin but getting the Tank armor and also getting the legendary cloak, later when i finally tank the flex i did not know what tf to do and i was like 0 mechanics and experience but 550 ILV
Honorable Mention: 1.) The “I don’t read quests but I’m going to ask my friends/guild mates/party members about every NPC” guy. 2.) The “I only get 20 minutes a night to play so I picked tank/healer for fast queues and now I want to main tank for your raid” guy. These people always manage to squeeze in just enough time to pass the trial phase somehow. and 3.) The “I only play an MMO for PvP and don’t understand why the devs don’t give a shit about players like me” guy.
#2 and proud. I realize a lot of us #2s are shitty (badumtss) but we can't help it. We've played too many games and can therefore see when a game will annoy us. We may not be right about everything we claim about the game but you'd be surprised how often our grievances we found in the first 10 minutes become reasons people quit a thousand hours in.
Part time role player with nobody to vibe with and part time jackass that loves to go on adventures and be a mindless slaughter machine. I sometimes imagine my pally dwarf getting some silly guest spot in a machinima for my old antics. I just vibe wow since beta and enjoy finding new friends when they come
don't wanna sound like an advertiser but have you ever tried minecraft rp?? lord of the craft is a medieval fantasy rp server that is pretty similar to wow rp in function, there's a few others, but it's the biggest. it's how i found my interest in rp and worldbuilding :'3
Hahaha The Noob. In FF14, our equivalent are the Mentors and the "Legends". Legends can clear the hardest content in the game but you put them in regular content and they're mostly the first to die on the easiest mechanic. Mentors are people who sign up to teach other players but are usually the worst at the game itself.
I was very conflicted making the thumbnail. It was either "MMOs aren't even fun," or "Unlike you all, I actually have a life," or "Shadowlands wasn't even that bad."
Im number 6. Definitely. I just play my mw in random bgs day in and day out. But i don't afk and just type. I watch my horde. If someone makes a good play i let them know i saw it. If 2 rogues does a dirty ambush base play, i laugh with them. But if theres someone that's clearly a newbie, but knows how to deal damage.. I pocketheal them 1v5 any day every day. Maybe i'll say to them that shield wall etc. should be used, but i just enjoy pumping the absolute lifeforce into them while they struggle to live. Only time i tell someone to gfto from my bg is when a warrior quadruple leaps to the other side of the map and leaves me with my ring of peace to handle the enemy team... That sucks.
ahaha i was number 9 in pandaria. knew barely any english back then so just kinda did what looked cool. i remember my first LFR raid. (i was a paladin tank) siege of orgrimmar, we were outside of org, cant remember what the boss looked like but the second i came in they attacked the boss. i didnt know jack about raids, dungeons were easy so these cant be that bad right? got kicked after the first try when i died about 6 seconds in or smt
Nixxiom, #10 is just roleplayers... They're roleplaying as mutes... In fact, they're all roleplayers... #9 is only roleplaying as a noob, but they aren't... That's how they got that good gear... #8 is the most meta of all, they are so into roleplay that they are roleplaying as themselves while roleplaying... #7 is only roleplaying that they're lagging... They actually have some of the best CPUs, GPUs, internet, etc. money can buy... But they don't want you to be jealous, so they run into walls... #6 is just roleplaying as the commander... He's not the soldier of the battleground, he's in charge... #5 actually has a wife... #3 they're only pretending to be angry... #2 is actually multiple people account sharing and roleplaying as one person with no life... #1 is actually the people who are the biggest fans of the game... I mean, think about it, if they REALLY hated the game and they REALLY thought it was dying, why would they keep playing it? Doesn't make sense, does it?
Number 11 the i know everything and if u don't do it my will i'll sabotage the grp guy: In general theses guys have a pretty good understanding of what they are doing but lack any knowledge of how to be part of a grp. As long as u do everything like he thinks it should be done u won't have any problems with him but beware if u do anything in an order that this god among players doesn't approve of. At first he will pause all movement to explain why the chosen path is wrong even if the pull is already made and tell everyone how they are wasting time. If the grp then wipes due to missing a player he will make sure to be the first guy to run to his old position and show the "correct" way hoping the grp repeates their "mistake" and instead of helping, flaming them, telling them how they waste his time before leaving the grp. Number 12 the if u calling me out for playing bad u are a tryhard aka the i'm just playing for fun guy. These guys tend to be pretty average players and can be very fun to play with if ur doing none endgame content but as soon as the grp hits a wall and u try to figure out the reason why u can't progress and give andvise on strategy they will immediately start to explain how they have a hard job and a family and everyone who takes playing a game serious has no life and that trying to be good at it is just something for people with no jobs. Strangely enough if u complement them on their play they are more than happy to tell u how to play their character and how much time they spend getting as good as they are.
What's most funny and ironic about the "this game is dead" players. Even though they (Apparently) haven't played the game for 5+ years, they are still subscribed to all the WoW-TH-cam channels and watch all the vids, they still follow all the various WoW groups on social media and engages in the latest news about the game
#2 To be fair, the first 10 minutes of FFXIV are a brick wall of text dump. It took me 8 attempts over the years to even get through it only to find out the game isn't for me after all.
I am the no lifer 2:50 but I have to find the game this is my type. I burn through everything so that I can get prep for PVP. Not really a pve guy, that's why I just do a "nolife to gear up" approach when I have tp -since devs don't want to separate pve from pvp gears.
#8 people have downsides too and are sometimes rather annoying with their constant complaining when things don't go the way they want it to in their headcannon. Like lalafel high chairs. These people get so passionate, that sometimes they even get creepy with their RPs and persona, that they will emote as they do things or even hold up dungeons, like in FF14, because they want to be immersed, often only caring about their own experience.
Top one for me is the "I only play or do whatever the BEST is" and if asked why not play or do something because it's fun, they'll always say "Being the best is fun". FotM rerollers, minmaxers, parsers etc. Most brain dead, faceroll-required-or-I-suck players I've ever met.

Or people that jump to their death in LFR Raszageth just so the rest of the raid does all the work.

Maybe you can do a video on how to find a good social community. Because imo, it was easier to form a community in wrath and bc .
I'm def number 8, lol. When you have a Dracthyr named Smolderwrell, I think you are fairly involved in the game.
Or the "this story makes no sense" people that then go on to say they skip every cutscene and don't read quest text.
Oh, #4? Well of course I know him, he's me
The zygor ad into number 4 tho
i was having laughs that burst outta nowhere with the vid nixx ty vm
I didn't get out of the Norn starting zone because ArenaNet blocked my account halfway through when I tried logging back in.
#9 is the guy who bought the expansion and immediately used the max level boost and jumped into a raid
The last one haha, everyone has been like this sometimes I feel
Why does #6 always show up when I'm trying to just get my bg win of the day?
Nice video. I enjoyed it. Thanks
number 9 and 10 hut REAL deep, low blow man T_T
i know a #4. he's also an andrew taint fuccboi, so that explains a lot.
2:29 okay i will admit it, i am that guy Lmfao XD
Yeah I’m #3… not so much the RP aspect of it but definitely a lone wolf IRL and play a lot in game WoW lol
That pvp guy was too common, mentally draining experience everytime.
I'm a number 10 for most of the time. But recently I been playing a game with a friend to get myself to stop that and it's hard.
Hahaha The Noob. In FF14, our equivalent are the Mentors and the "Legends". Legends can clear the hardest content in the game but you put them in regular content and they're mostly the first to die on the easiest mechanic. Mentors are people who sign up to teach other players but are usually the worst at the game itself.
the type of peeps in the thumbnail are painfully real
That sucks.
Man, number 3 hit me hard.
Damm i love your top 10s
No. 3 was me in TBC
#9 sounds like the kind of guy that would buy a max level up without playing the game first
I have never encountered a player who wasn't #10. Not since WotLK (originally).
Number 9 is definitely Gus.
You are weird Nixxiom. But that's why we love you.
ahaha i was number 9 in pandaria. knew barely any english back then so just kinda did what looked cool.
i remember my first LFR raid.
I'm usually a mix of 8 and 10 xD
This was funny af man
Nixxiom, #10 is just roleplayers...
I felt called with the "..." player lol
"This game is my entire life guy" Says Nixxiom 🤣🤣 No hate on you Bro been subbed for years.
funny thing. iv met all of those personalities.
What's most funny and ironic about the "this game is dead" players. Even though they (Apparently) haven't played the game for 5+ years, they are still subscribed to all the WoW-TH-cam channels and watch all the vids, they still follow all the various WoW groups on social media and engages in the latest news about the game
WoW has 4 players so its toots not dead
You will totally have a fun time on MU-Online 😅
#2 sounds like the average gaming journalist
Excuse me, yeah hi ummm, why exactly did you change your profile away from the death knight???
#9 when the little brother uses the account
#2 To be fair, the first 10 minutes of FFXIV are a brick wall of text dump. It took me 8 attempts over the years to even get through it only to find out the game isn't for me after all.
Where is the guy that always makes everyone wait for them?
I think the moral of this video is that...
There's an idiot somewhere inside all of us 🥴
Wait a minute... aren't For Profit Add-Ons again ToS?
I am the no lifer 2:50 but I have to find the game this is my type. I burn through everything so that I can get prep for PVP. Not really a pve guy, that's why I just do a "nolife to gear up" approach when I have tp -since devs don't want to separate pve from pvp gears.
I also no life pvp
bogos binted?
GUYS if anyone knows Aestu from Bleeding Hollow (Lich King era), let me knowwwww
I'm number 7,we litterly joke that my internet comes from NY hillbilly trees
id be #3 if blizz didnt keep dropping the ball and giving me reasons to not give them money
0:35 - oof the majority of the content creators outed already
Top one for me is the "I only play or do whatever the BEST is" and if asked why not play or do something because it's fun, they'll always say "Being the best is fun".
FotM rerollers, minmaxers, parsers etc.
Most brain dead, faceroll-required-or-I-suck players I've ever met.
#2 sounds like xqc in ff14
