    Imagine if gmbn did top gear style challenges like bike vs bike and budget bike challenge and making their own suspension forks out of scrap

      Agree, and the one at 2:08-2:11; and the flow between 2:27 and 2:30, and the setup to those crazy quick tight turns w:41-2:45. I could watch this ride again and again and again. Oh, hey, I have! Love the GMBN vids...

    At the end of the day, hardtail, soft tail, full suspension, road bike, fatbike, bmx... They are all cycling and cycling overall is fun no matter what type of bike!
    As for me, I'm a hardtail kinda guy 😉

      how about the mono bike which has no tail?

  • @schlooonginator1227

    I like hardtails for numerous reasons. Sure they are fun but they are a lot more practical for mos people who cannot afford a shed of bikes. I own a HT because I don't have a car and must ride a bike everywhere and while I prefer off road I must ride a lot of road to get anywhere and a HT is probably the most truly multi terrain bike there is and that appeals to me. The fact that I don't have to preplan what my intended ride will be has a certain freedom when riding that seems to have died off with the introduction of so many specialized type bikes for every genre of riding. I just grab my bike and go, no bother with wondering if I am bringing the "right" bike.

      Old comment i know but i am in the same situation as you was regarding nearby trails. I had to cycle on a lot of pavement to even get to a forest. I bought a full suspension specialized stumpjumper and though the bike was awsome on descends it was horrible on flat road and going uphill. So much pedal power is lost due to the suspension even when locked and the weight of the bike was too much. All my buddys on HT was so much faster than me. I sold the stumpjumper and bought a HT and never looked back. But it really does depend on where you live in the world. I live in Denmark problaly the flattest country in the world. If we actually had mountains in my country and lifts to the top i probably kept my stumpjumper

    Hey GMBN, absolutely love the hardtails week, reminds me about how I started off. Have you thought about doing a UK trail and trail centre guide as a series. You've kind of started with it in Whistler and Saalbach but these places can be costly I guess. Just a thought, keep up the excellent content!!

    This was one of the best GMBN videos I've seen in a long time. I bought a Scott Scale 760 hardtail 9 months ago (after riding a road bike for 20 years) and I can't get enough of it. Sure, my next bike will be a full suss but, man, I'm finding the hardtail is just the ticket for learning all the skills I need to know. Still not as good as I want to be on downhills, though ...

    my next hardtail is the nukeproof scout 290. i will run 27.5 wheels with 2.4 tires. a dropper. 160mm fork. a renthal 800mm bar. a renthal apex stem. 203mm front rotor. 180mm rear rotor. maxxis minion II tires. a 1x11 drivetrain. brakes and drivetrain will be shimano xtr. dt swiss wheelset with the inline 240 series hubs. i don't sweat the small stuff. i chose the scout because it's an upgrade with its 148x12 hub spacing.

      We’ll out of the bike shops I have seen is a hard tail worth more than a full suspension bike at the end of the day one takes the fun out of it unless your doing red bull crazy stuff that requires a nicer landing but hard tales make great track bikes for those who have skills to do al this

    Hardtails are more than just fun! Hardatils are the only thing to do everything. Up, Down, crusing te city and getting new beer!
    If you can go up in a Helicopter buy a softtail!
    If you want to do some wheelis while gettin up you need a Hardtail! And you can buy a good Hardtail for less than 600€... Is the missing second the way down worth 500€?

  • @MrDivision89
    @MrDivision89 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nowadays people are watching 140mm full suspension bikes and thinking is this enough for enduro trails or do I need 160/180mm suspension and so on... You guys should do a video about driving "regular" bikes on harder trails, maybe hardtail on enduro trail or something like that, so people would realize that travel of the suspension is not really that big of a deal.
