    the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

All I have to do, is reach out with my right hand, and shotgun in hand, I tell the prospective intruders (including DPD), to leave or die. It looks like a trad coat rack, but it knocks open at a touch. I KNOW, it's not kid friendly, but all my kids are grown and gone. Seriously, thank you, bud.

    I watched your video and It was very cool. Easy build. I learn by watching. I have an AR-15 and I was wanting to build a tactical concealment coat hanger. In this day and age there are crazy people doing home invasions. Two weeks ago someone kicked my door in just when I wasn't home. Luckily they didn't steal anything of value maybe the suspect saw my headlights when I was coming home. Now I definitely want to make a concealment firearm coat rack. I'm pretty sure the burglar will attempt another break in. Possibly break my bedroom window. I have my AR-15 mounted on my wall in plain view, but I need concealment coat hanger so the burglars won't find my two firearms hidden.

    I made the concealment shelf as per your previous video. I looked at the RFIDs but in a pinch I figured someone would want something simple and reliable so went with the magnets. If it can fail…it will. When you need it most. In my head the RFID might fail. I also found a 6 inch tactical red LED motion activated light so when the shelf opens the light goes on. But damn that foam is expensive!

You can then attach the back with pocket screws making it more secure. Plus, with the RFID lock, in case the battery does go dead, you can then take off the back and change the batteries. In all, AWESOME build. Keep up the good work!!!

How did you cut yours? 🤔

    Hi, with using the other hinges I am having problems keeping everything flush. If I line them up to connect then when folding the front back up, the bottom divider piece is no longer flush with the bottom of the front piece. Insetting the hinges seems to be the only way to keep these flush unless I’m missing something. Thank you for everything you do!

  • @benwhite6786
    @benwhite6786 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    • @Toyotajunkie
      @Toyotajunkie 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes.
      That's what he meant when he was talking about the foam, and the customer cutting it to fit, gluing in, etc. But this doesn't have to be just for guns... let your imagination flow!

    • @Toyotajunkie
      @Toyotajunkie 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      P.s.
      It's easy to cut the foam to fit, but it should be snug except wherever you are most comfortable grabbing whatever item it is. If it is a knife, there should be some finger holes at the handle, for example.

    Can there be a gas piston added to this build like on the concealment shelves. Great videos, thank you

    Is there anything besides the foam holding the shotgun in place? Since it’s a vertical surface and a shotgun (and even some handguns) is pretty heavy, I want to make sure it stays in place. Looking forward to trying one (or more) of these.

      they make heavy duty gun magnets you can try instead of the foam, which may be better /safer way to hold a shotgun or an AR. I know the foam makes it look better and you could get away with using both if you want to or just cut the expense of the foam entirely and just use the gun magnets.

    Was thinking while watching the lock installation, would it be easier to get the lock installed if you waited to put the beadboard in until after doing the locking mechanism?

    Nice Concealment but for Me the Large Upper Panel and it's Depth, draws My Attention to there being more Space that needed.
    Wider (deeper) "Side Walls" would help some to hide the Depth.
    A Chalkboard, or Magnetic Galv. Sheet-metal Panel, for refrigerator magnets, a Pen & Pad of Paper, with some sort of Cute sign, would give the Large Flat Panel "purpose."
    And have the added benefit of obscuring the depth problem.

    What kind of plywood do you like to use for furniture builds. There are a lot of options in my area and trying to figure out what is a good material with a good face for an ok price. I say ok because the price of a 4x8 sheet of plywood is almost $60 in my area! Also how did you adjust the hinges? You didn’t unscrew them and move them into new holes did you?

      I use alot of birch ply. Its not cheap but stains well. The hinges adjust on the hinge itself. just turning some built in screws.

    Hey Matt. Great video. Love your work and detail. 1 question. For the door. Are the top and bottom boards for the door 43½ which is what it says in the description or 43⅛ like it says in the video?

    Awesome Video, I love your videos. I am buying your plans!! I was wondering if there was I way you could open it from the bottom, and use the same dimensions? Thank You

      Yep! I would incorporate a gas strut for that. I think I may do a video showing the different styles and cool add ons.

    I might make this but I would put a acrylic mirror in the part in the middle on the front door part
