Another great video Mickey. And yes, the Taz LUV 3 arrived, and I've been running up and down the rope with it, I also used it during some tree pruning work. Axel Manz has some great videos about it too. The NOAM competition in Southern Oregon was off the charts last week, They had a 60 foot speed climb straight up a rope, in the dark, black lights, glow in the dark saddles, just totally outrageous. Jim.

Very important subject to touch upon. I have noticed not everyone, including Levels 3s, understands or knows how to use/calculate SWL and MBS to make a safe system/rescue.
Looking forward to the tech talk.

Its a topic that seems to go in one ear and out the other with many. But then applying it is a totally different thing.
      Tech talk is coming soon

Why no discussion of work load limit? In this discussion? Will you bring that up in the tech talk?

@@theropeaccessandclimbingpo2380 in my mind you can’t really talk about SWL without talking about WLL. I’ll be interested to see what you hav to say about WLL

Since I just noticed those clips from ropetrip or whatever in your intro, do you have much experience using a pantin for rope access? I've got some annoyingly repetitive rope climbs at my current jobs that a foot ascender might be nice for but I just cant seem to get the groove right and just end up frogging anyway, and we're too busy to take a bunch of time to dial in a luxury system lol. Got any tips?

      Hey Julian,
Yes, I have used the pantin a lot is comps. For the most part it takes time. But for long climbs you wont regret it.
First thing is make sure to buy the proper foot pantin. So if you use your right foot in your foot loop. You will need the Left pantin.
Next is back up line. This device works best with any sort of Trailing style device. ie ASAP/ASAP Lock. Once you have that. Tie up the bottom of the backup line in a coil about 1' off the ground.
Get on the ropes, Sit-down, install the rope to the pantin. When you stand up to climb. Start with little movements and as you get higher, the more aggressive you can be.
Left hand, Left foot move at the same time. Right hand, Right foot move at the same time. (1 hand on the handle ascender, 1 hand on the rope above.
Hope this helps out a little bit.
      Cheers,
      Mikey
