    What a cool and well spoken guy. It's so interesting that with Sasha's accent, I feel it's easy to tell he's lived in many different countries and recently Sweden in particular when he pronounces certain words.

    Love this guy, also Matt’s face change upon the guy loving cyber truck is priceless. Thank you for this episode, for the record, Cybertruck is way less ugly than new BMWs. It’s a beauty-free thing rather than ugly, IMO.

    Podcasts with designers are some of my favorites. Such great conversation on the details and mechanics of design, specifically, industrial design. I only attended 1 year of design school and then realized that I didn't have the work ethic or drawing skills even after practicing so I get to live vicariously through these convos! lol

    Sasha is awesome. I met him once, asked him a few questions about Chiron design etc, talked for a couple minutes. He knew nothing about me, and I was probably a nobody in his eyes. But he realized I was interested in his work, so he gave me his card. I will never use his number because his time is too valuable, but it says a lot about the kind of person he is. And what a great designer.

      I would say that his comment about the MK4 golf is overlooked. You have a lot of people who review cars who don't appreciate what consumer's want. He tried to use the analogy of a Hoodie and sneakers as why boring cars are important. I would refer Matt to Carl Ruiz's McDonald's fries review, Matt would not have appreciated it as a foodie.

      It's still not good. Sasha was talking about design, and he has right to do it. How about "bulletproof" glass which can't stand a small rock thrown at it.

    • @ohedd
      @ohedd ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vvevvevvvv Well that was because they'd already cracked the glass with the mallet before throwing the ball. That was a presentation issue. And also, whether a car has bullet proof glass is irrelevant in the first place, so Idk why anyone even brings that up. It's such a pointless feature that nobody asks for. It's like if you have a Koenigsegg doing 300mph, and they advertised that it was gonna have a floating GoPro on the dashboard, and then the floating GoPro ends up not working as intended - are you now gonna go "sure, it may do 300mph BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE A FLOATING GOPRO" Lol nobody gives a shit. Same with the bullet proof glass.
      Alas! The glass actually is bullet proof - it's just that the glass will crack if you beat it with a sledge hammer right before throwing a steel ball at it.

    Love this podcast episode!! I went to Art Center for a couple of semesters for car design/transportation design and all of the content of this video was like speaking to a close friend, very well laid out. And it's funny how designers can have similar wavelengths on different design ideas, kind of like hearing a song in your head and then hearing it play on the radio, can draw a concept and then months later see something similar elsewhere. Amazing and inspiring video guys, you have no idea....

    Regarding Sasha speaking about a design idea that he, and CvK, both had independently around the same time - 2008 ish. Google "NLV Quant", and see the similarities with the Gemera. The NLV Solar AG, a Swiss company active in the field of Photovoltaic cells and revolutionary electrical energy storage accumulators, commissioned Koenigsegg, to design and engineer a 4-seater electric car, incorporating NLV´s core technologies. The NLV Quant was shown in Geneva Motor Show 2009. Cvk has since spoken about that idea of a car, and said that it was not possible for Koenigsegg to build it then, restrained by resources and also technical obsticles in form of packaging. With the compact TFG (Tiny Friendly Giant) engine with freevalve technology, combined with modern tech for electrifying, it was finally possible to make the packaging work, in form of the Gemera.
