Isaiah Davis being a 3rd String and people saying mostly good things about him is impressive. To have very little opportunities and show that much potential makes you want to see much more from him. Trade Breece Hall and let Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis carry the show. Regardless of who starts next season I think you'll see Isaiah Davis as our #1 back by the end of the season.

I'm not trying to be rude, but these are easily checkable at Overthecap BEFORE you hit "record." Ashtyn Davis is a passable backup safety (six career picks) and a good ST'er. Whether that's worth re-signing is a question of math and what they can bring into camp.

Cut Rodgers, Adams and Lazard-show the rest of the team that they are moving on from the Rodgers experiment-despite some good performances, he is not worth the headache and I think he has triggered many of the comments from other players. Extend Sherwood for sure, keep Carter because Reed is walking. I don't understand fully what all the cuts and cap hits mean but I agree they need to get younger fast. BUT Tyrod will do a great job as a bridge QB all the players love him-he can be injury prone so also sign Justin Fields to play backup PT QB use in wild cat formations and make the team a run first, pass second offense. Find a way to keep Sauce and Jermaine and in the draft get another OL stud to help, then some S,DL and CB help and draft a TE late it is a deep draft and maybe find a way to draft Skattebo if it is not a 2nd or 3rd rounder-he is a stud that can do many things. To summarize, make the offense run first behind Allen/Davis/Skattebo and then shore up the defense get a good DC in tow the team has talent but gave up after Saleh was fired.

He knew when the season was cooked and went into preservation mode. Still keep him, he's not worth much in a huge RB draft year anyways. Him being on the team will pay off way more than the trade value.
Trading one of the “big 4” is inevitable. Regardless of if they are in a rebuild or not. They just simply can’t afford to pay 4+ guys 25+ million dollars a year.
I think they really need to lose this final game so that they can draft high for a quality qb. If they win, I doubt there will be a qb that can change their direction as I only think two will be nfl potentials in the long run (Sanders & Ward). Rodgers is just too old to be a qb they can rebuild around, Taylor is too injury prone. I think the defensive pieces are there, but guess that depends on who they pick to be HC this offseason.

Nice video... but we need to run the Aaron Rogers experiment to ground. He's still good and a new OC will help. Coaching was awful this year as the penalties prove. That can be fixed just like when Parcels replaced Kotite after his 1-15 twin seasons. We have Tyrod and Travis (T&T) if it doesnt work out. And our run defense / D line will certainly be improved which will help the CB situation which was stressed to the max this year. That was resulting in a lot of the deep ball and 3rd down penalties. This roster is too close to winning and a good coach, not re-build is what we need.
They definitely need to rebuild. Rebuild around your young assets. This is the problem with the Jets. They never want to commit to tearing it all down and attempting to build it up the right way. Retain your young studs and the hell with everyone else.

No development, no improvement, no impact, poor blocking, consistent blown assignments and a general incompetence at the position leads me to a negative review of this coach
I think Conklin has been pretty damn good since he has arrived. Ruckert has been an overall okay blocker, that’s all he ever will be. Got to remember Middleton has been the TE coach since 2021, the FO hasn’t exactly given him any grade A talent to try to develop either.
All those coaches did lousy. The TEs got worse every year. The ST coach is one of the worst. Boyer kept a kicker who had trouble kicking FGs because he could kick the ball out of the end zone. Don't know if the new regime will want bigger LBs or keep Sherwood. Kinlaw has to go. Yeboah should be brought back. Echols should be brought back. Tony Adams is a good safety. Jets should keep Ashtyn Davis. The only person to get a prime pick back would be Wilson. Yes, now they have 17 game seasons. In the old days it was fewer games in a season. Rodgers doesn't want to be here and Jets should push on from him. There are a few promising QB's in this class. Not in early rounds.

Iv3 b33n around long 3bough to know the NYJ CANNOT DEVELOP QBS. A New rookie QB with no guidance and we will ruin him. @ you’re right it all depends on the scheme. The new DC will employ. However, Sherwood has done a really good job, when you consider he was a safety and came in to play linebacker. I wouldn’t make wholesale changes at, because we have other pressing needs on the defense. We have to get QW help on the Dline. Mason Graham, or another talented interior Dlineman that can get to the quarterback could easily win this team three more games. I would just try to get bigger defensive lineman, that take up double teams, and block up running lanes so that my smaller linebackers can be effective. I would like to draft this player if he’s available in rounds four through six and we fill the other needs of DT, OT or OG, S, TE in that order. Miami LB Francisco Mauigoa.
DJ Reed is a horrible overrated player who is undersized and a penalty machine. Everytime the opponent needed a play its right at reed with great success. Echols is a better choice more solid and gets interceptions.
I like that Rex is all about the Jets. It seems like he genuinely cares about the team, and the direction it’s headed. Do I think Rex is the perfect candidate in today’s NFL Landscape? Not particularly. But I wouldn’t be opposed to him, or someone like him in the HC spot.

Ive also been around for the coaches you never heard of like Charley Winner to horrible GMs and coaches like Idzik and Rch Kotite. Im 1000% sure of two things. #1 is todays NFL is not the NFL of the 70's- early 2000's, where you had no choice but to build a team through the draft. With a talented core of players, a good free agency period and a great draft, a team can go from terrible to confrence Champion in 1 seasons. #2. I WANT TO SEE A NYJ Superbowl before I die and time is wasting away. I've seen WAY TOO MANY REBUILDS while other teams are able to continue their excellence, season after season and decade after decade. The best teams rebuild while they are winning like San Fran, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Dallas, NE, KC all teams that seem to get it right over and over. Why can't we? I think i know how to do it though...Start with keeping Woody and his family away from ANY FOOTBALL DECISIONS. GET a good GM that truly believes in building the Oline and Dline first, then hire an offensive minded HC who has a creative OC. Id bring back Jeff Ulbrich, only if he wants to be the DC. Sign Justin Fields, Trey Lance or Russel Wilson in that order. Fields was Wilson's and Ruckert's QB so there is a natural coordination that hundreds of practice reps together can never be explained or substituted for. Just like AR and DA. Add in what none of the teams any of those QBs came from and the NYJ have a high powered offenses with a Talented trio of RBs, 2 top 5 WRs, A combination WR in Malachai Corely and 2 TEs that can catch.. add to that a mobile QB that is a weapon by himself and there is no reason a truly imaginative OC can't make this a top 5 offense. If we can bring in free agents like a good OG, another DT and a shut down CB... while bringing back Mosely and some of the depth pieces we have they can be bridges to the 2026 and 2027 draft classes while giving a veteran presence to guide this young team. Lastly we need to use our first round pick on DT Mason Grahm from Michigan. If he is gone then we need to take the top rated OT in the group and let him play OG Opposite AVT until next season when we can draft a 2nd round OG and mobe that rookie to RT or LT after a competition with Fashanu. Fixing the Dline has to be the priority this draft. The biblical flood that has been the NYJ run game has been steadily getting worse over the last 3 seasons with this season being the most embarrassing after the Colts converted all their 4th downs in the 4th quarter against us. The strenght of this draft is DLine, TE so taking Mason Graham another OT and TE wlis my dream scenario. In that order while trying to find a DT diamond in the rough in rounds 5 -7 or moving back into the upper rounds to fix the Dline is a no brainer. With waiver wire additions DT Phidarian Mathis and LB Jamin Davis added to Quinnen Williams, Kinlaw, and Mason Grahm, this defense would finally be able to use pure strength to get to the QB from inside while blocking running lanes to stop the run. The speed of JJ and Anderon on the outside to set the Edge and get to the QB would give our DBs a chance to defend WRs and TEs because they wont need more than 4 seconds to make plays. Mosley, Sherrwood and Williams would be free and clear of Olineman because the 4 guys upfront would be causing so much havoc they would force double teams every play. A full rebuild is not necessary at all we have too much talent on this team. We just need ownership to shut the fuck up and let the GM and HC do their jobs.

Boyer has been one of the best Coaches on the Jets since he’s arrived so not sure what you are talking about there. One bad year isn’t going to deter my thinking on him.
Ashton Davis wouldn't even make the practice squad on other teams. I think he and Solomon Thomas were HC Rob Salah's favorites.. Ashton is too small, too slow and can't tackle or cover well. He's not even better than our ST guys. The LB coach turned Sherwood from a safety to a LB.. so im keeping him.. rather sign Fields, Lance or Wilson.. to get this team back on track. Iv3 b33n around long 3bough to know the NYJ CANNOT DEVELOP QBS. A New rookie QB with no guidance and we will ruin him. It's time to get a young mobile QB just hitting his prime and add him to a talented but slightly flawed roster and see where that takes us..

@ you’re right it all depends on the scheme. The new DC will employ. However, Sherwood has done a really good job, when you consider he was a safety and came in to play linebacker. I wouldn’t make wholesale changes at, because we have other pressing needs on the defense. We have to get QW help on the Dline. Mason Graham, or another talented interior Dlineman that can get to the quarterback could easily win this team three more games. I would just try to get bigger defensive lineman, that take up double teams, and block up running lanes so that my smaller linebackers can be effective. I would like to draft this player if he’s available in rounds four through six and we fill the other needs of DT, OT or OG, S, TE in that order. Miami LB Francisco Mauigoa.

Depth. Going to have to bite the bullet and bring one of these DTs back. Kinlaw is the best of a bad bunch. Outside of Q, of course.
DJ Reed is a horrible overrated player who is undersized and a penalty machine. Everytime the opponent needed a play its right at reed with great success. Echols is a better choice more solid and gets interceptions.

I like that Rex is all about the Jets. It seems like he genuinely cares about the team, and the direction it’s headed. Do I think Rex is the perfect candidate in today’s NFL Landscape? Not particularly. But I wouldn’t be opposed to him, or someone like him in the HC spot.

At the very least those Vets are trade bait for more draft capital if we suck by trade deadline next year. Only player i really want to trade is Lazard, but we wouldn't get more than a 6th rd. Or 7th. round. The only way I trade the guys you want to trade is if we do a full rebuild and we are terrible by the trade deadline.
I would also keep Jeff Ulbrich if he wants to stay on as the DC, but I'm firing the WR coach (Jefferson) because Malachai Corely has not improved enough to see the field, and that's crazy. I'd keep all the others you would keep and Mike Rutenberg (LB), Aaron Whitecorn changed Sherwood from Safety to LB ( DL) coach, and Marquand Mqnuel (DB) coach. They can only work with what they have.
I'd try to re-sign TE Tyler Conklin, OT Morgan Moses, DT Leki Foto *, CB Isiah Oliver, S Chuck Clark, LB Jamien Sherwood, S Tony Adams, OG Schweitzer, TE Kenny Yeboah, WR Irvin Charles, CB Brandin Echols and DT Javon Kinlaw. OT Newman is trash, and you still have OT Carter Warren who is worthless on the roster for depth.

Im sorry I've been a NYJ fan for 53 years. I've seen the Richard Todd Freeman McNeil games, Sack exchange games, Parcell & Testarverde, aRex & Revis. Multiple playoff and AFC championship games. Ive also been around for the coaches you never heard of like Charley Winner to horrible GMs and coaches like Idzik and Rch Kotite.
Im 1000% sure of two things. #1 is todays NFL is not the NFL of the 70's- early 2000's, where you had no choice but to build a team through the draft. With a talented core of players, a good free agency period and a great draft, a team can go from terrible to confrence Champion in 1 seasons.
#2. I WANT TO SEE A NYJ Superbowl before I die and time is wasting away.
I've seen WAY TOO MANY REBUILDS while other teams are able to continue their excellence, season after season and decade after decade. The best teams rebuild while they are winning like San Fran, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Dallas, NE, KC all teams that seem to get it right over and over. Why can't we?
I think i know how to do it though...Start with keeping Woody and his family away from ANY FOOTBALL DECISIONS. GET a good GM that truly believes in building the Oline and Dline first, then hire an offensive minded HC who has a creative OC. Id bring back Jeff Ulbrich, only if he wants to be the DC.
Sign Justin Fields, Trey Lance or Russel Wilson in that order. Fields was Wilson's and Ruckert's QB so there is a natural coordination that hundreds of practice reps together can never be explained or substituted for. Just like AR and DA. Add in what none of the teams any of those QBs came from and the NYJ have a high powered offenses with a Talented trio of RBs, 2 top 5 WRs, A combination WR in Malachai Corely and 2 TEs that can catch.. add to that a mobile QB that is a weapon by himself and there is no reason a truly imaginative OC can't make this a top 5 offense.
If we can bring in free agents like a good OG, another DT and a shut down CB... while bringing back Mosely and some of the depth pieces we have they can be bridges to the 2026 and 2027 draft classes while giving a veteran presence to guide this young team.
Lastly we need to use our first round pick on DT Mason Grahm from Michigan. If he is gone then we need to take the top rated OT in the group and let him play OG Opposite AVT until next season when we can draft a 2nd round OG and mobe that rookie to RT or LT after a competition with Fashanu.
Fixing the Dline has to be the priority this draft. The biblical flood that has been the NYJ run game has been steadily getting worse over the last 3 seasons with this season being the most embarrassing after the Colts converted all their 4th downs in the 4th quarter against us.
The strenght of this draft is DLine, TE so taking Mason Graham another OT and TE wlis my dream scenario. In that order while trying to find a DT diamond in the rough in rounds 5 -7 or moving back into the upper rounds to fix the Dline is a no brainer.
With waiver wire additions DT Phidarian Mathis and LB Jamin Davis added to Quinnen Williams, Kinlaw, and Mason Grahm, this defense would finally be able to use pure strength to get to the QB from inside while blocking running lanes to stop the run.
The speed of JJ and Anderon on the outside to set the Edge and get to the QB would give our DBs a chance to defend WRs and TEs because they wont need more than 4 seconds to make plays. Mosley, Sherrwood and Williams would be free and clear of Olineman because the 4 guys upfront would be causing so much havoc they would force double teams every play.
A full rebuild is not necessary at all we have too much talent on this team. We just need ownership to shut the fuck up and let the GM and HC do their jobs.
