I wonder if grinding them into a powder would change anything? I started searching around after viewing your video, and read in a Japan Times article that soldiers had, "ground them into a light-emitting powder." Also, cool video! I had no idea these little guys existed until today. Plus, with those eye-like black dots and cute swimming, they look like they'd be right at home in a Ghibli movie!
Amazing! But as a technology, it seems to be very impractical. You need to refil your light source every three minutes or so in complete darkness (if you really don't want to let the enemy know your position) using dried specimen of a tiny marine creature someone had to collect and dry before you get to use it. For logistical reasons, I'd prefer a dim oil light or not being able to read.
ZeFrank sent me over. Very cool video
I was just about to say. I've torn through a solid number of videos so far. Solid content. ZeFrank hooking it up
@@thereal757_ap Agreed. Usually when I’m sent somewhere, I’m not impressed
Thank you so much!!
Is this how those crazy pictures of those glowing waves happen??
These creatures here could be responsible, but the glowing waves are called by much smaller creatures. They are called Noctiluca or Pyrocystis.

Yes, indeed. :) Grinding them will make the light more intense, but they won't glow as long. Japan is full with strange living stuff.
Wow, thank you!! This is so well shot and extremely interesting! 😍
Keep up the great work!
Thank you! I will!
