Jann is such an ARTIST! I watched a few interviews with him and he is super creative and he not only writes his own lyrics and music but also takes charge in the music videos. I'm just so impressed with his confidence at such a young age, he shared that he makes sure his creative vision is heard when he collaborates with directors, etc.

Strange to say that Jann might have won Eurovision for not being selected by Poland! His talent has shown and his profile is so far above where it was before the selection. I expect him to try again and when he makes it to the big stage it should be something special!

Jann is amazing, he has a great talent. Pre-selection performance... well, the favorite was promoted on TV for half a year, the others found out about qualifying for the final 10 days before the performance. It is difficult to shorten the original work and bring it to the stage in such a short time and without a large financial backing. Plus, it was Jann's first TV appearance. Despite the bad sound, he did well and won the hearts of fans, not only in Poland :) When it comes to Jann's lyrics, he says that he writes them so that everyone can interpret them according to their own needs. Thank you for your reaction, Jann after preselection gains a lots of fans not only in Poland but worldwide.He is on the biggest festivals in Poland now, his first tour sold out within 24 hours, he also performed with Jared Leto1/30 STM on Orange Warsaw Festival. He has another 10 songs, 3:27 I recommend especially ,,Promise", ,,Met the god ", , one missed call", , emperors new clothes" all of them are great.❤

@@ESCTom , If I were Jann, I wouldn't approach TVP anymore, because it's unpleasant to have the best song and lose to another talentless artist with a lot of money and connections

Thank you for your kind words. Im afraid that in the current political climate in poland Jann won't get any support from the government controlled national broadcaster TVP. Just recently one of the tvp mediaworkers said about him, that his androgyny is a deviation and he needs treatment. I'd be happy if Jann represented in the future another country because i think that at this point he doesn't owe anything TVP
that's so incredibly sad.
I wonder if there would get a point that he becomes so successful that they would start to prioritise being able to milk his success over their “morals”

Someone said, he needed treatment, jeez... maybe you can say, you don't like his songs, or that his live performance was weak, saying, you don't like his outfits or hairstyle, OK, has got nothing to do with his music, but OK, but saying, he needed treatment, this just goes way too far. And the first comment about androgyny, this might be why he cut his hair, i guess (much to the dismay of his mostly female fans). I don't even find his look very androgynous, many Rockstars are having long hair, are wearing make up, nail polish, tight leather pants, etc, I think, he might have been perceived differently, if he was the singer of a rock band. What are they saying about Damiano? I'm curious. But androgyny shouldn't be demonized either.

Hi Tom! Firstly I absolutely love Jann, Gladiator would have been iconic in Eurovision! I watched your video about the Poland NF just now and it helped me actually understand what all the drama was about, reading about it through tweets wasn't that helpful haha, absolutely shocking what happened, Jann would have got Poland a better result for sure
I am curious though and I'm sure you will know...what is the criteria to represent a particular country for Eurovision?? I understand Andrew Lambrou switched from Australia to Cyprus because of his granddad being Cypriot but for example, Victor Crone did Melfest this year but has represented Estonia but I went on his wikipedia page and didn't see anything about him having any Estonian heritage??? Always been curious about this as I find it quite amusing when people switch countries haha
I think they don’t need to have any roots as I remember polish singer Margaret tried to represent Sweden after she lost to Michal Szpak, another polish singer tried in Norway once.
It varies from country to country. Some of them have no requirements, some of them require nationality. some have similar requirements of the songwriters too

Yeah, Gladiator as a song was definitely interesting, although his live performance was lacking. But maybe it would have been better with dancers surrounding him, so that he didn't have to dance himself and could focus more on his vocals. Furthermore, the stage wouldn't have looked that empty either. This song is also interesting, different from Gladiator, though. The elevator theme in this video is kinda fascinating as well, great idea. Good dancing and acting. Yep, maybe mext time, he should be taking the stairs instead, lol.
apparently he was only given 10 days notice that he was in the final, so he wouldnt have had time to prepare anything anyway. Meanwhile Blanka has been performing on state TV since December

Tom have you already seen Jann performing with 30 seconds to Mars ? He was one of two polish singers chose by their management to accompany Jared Leto on stage of Orange Warsaw Festival, one of the biggest and famous summer festival in Poland?
