Also thanks for saying the typical usage for the light and not saying that one is better than the other. LED isn't there yet... the colors aren't as good as the old school bulbs and gels. typically the blue and ambers aren't good. However its all what you need right! :) Thanks a bunch buddy
Thanks for the video Buddy. Thanks for showing a real experiment! I DJ and I've done some theater lighting and concert lighting... its to often that guys just talk how awesome the cheep lights are when usually the cheep stuff just can't keep up with the Elation, High End, Martin or Clay paky. Some people try to replace it with the big stuff. So fare in my experience your going to get more bang for your buck with the Elation stuff. It was nice to see a light like that compared to a bigger fixture
some of the release youtube videos say it is = to 250 msd but some say it is inbetween a 150 and 250 msd so that is more acurate to what is said about the q-spot
great job bro... can you compare them to ur Martins... i bet those led cant stant to Martins 250msd... then again the new platium 5r is pretty bright lamp very compact and ligth, thats what im aiming for elation platium 5r I already have an AMDJ visi beam pretty cool beam... keep
hello great video, can you please tell me if you can , if I replaced my chauvet q spot 150 hid with 60 watt led. Would I notice a considerable difference to make it worth it ? thank you reply would be greatly appreciated .
I have to agree with drumsandpercussion where the test is flawed. If you look a photometric data for any fixture the further away (or longer the beam distance) the lower the amount of light. To show a true comparison both lights would have to be at the same distance and I also agree a 250 watt discharge would be noticeably brighter than a 60 watt LED.
If thats 60w.... Then Ive seen 100w LED Movign heads start comeing out of China. It Looks like that 100w LED will be Brighter than a MSD 250/2. Even Martin now has a LED Moving Head Profile the Martin MAC 350 Entour. so it is the way of the future!
When you are comparing brightness of light you need to put your fixtures the same distance away and the same beam angle. A fixture looses intensity the further you put it away from an object, as well as the larger you make the beam angle. if you switched the positions to the other side of the room so that the 250 was close and smaller there would be a even bigger difference in brightness but the 250 would be brighter. This test is flawed and should be redone with distance and beam angle in mind.
Awesome comparison video. That Q Spot LED is pretty bright! LED is the new way to go for brightness and of course less heavier!!!!
DUDE! That's MY store on LBJ! I'm the one that made those lights in that room work! Crazy...I thought it looked familiar...
Rock on brother!
