If you want to keep riding ICE bikes you may get more years with lower cc machines with less pollution.

This has just gone straight to the top of my shortlist of bikes to replace my ageing Kawasaki 650. The Meteor doesn't do anything for me and the amount of work needed to keep a Classic 350 looking good is off-putting. The Hunter seems to have all the good features of the 350 range without any of the downsides and the tubeless tyres are very welcome. I'm definitely not "younger generation" - I've been riding for over 40 years, I'll be 70 in a few weeks and the last time I looked I wasn't a "lady". What utter nonsense. BTW my wife says thanks for including her favourite song.

It seems that Royal Enfield is becoming the global leader in smart, affordable, beautifully designed and extremely desirable motorcycles. Their offerings are so well considered and executed for the real world market. A recipe that will be very hard for other manufacturers to emulate... mainly because RE is doing most things correctly and at the right time. There is no denying the drop dead, good looks of this bike and the fact it will most likely be their price leader... and as a price leader, it still has a ton of appeal. I am in my 50's and this bike as well as the Interceptor and Classic 350 just grab me... so much so, I had to have an Interceptor and a Classic. I may have to make some room in the garage for a blue and white Hunter 350.

RE are onto a winner with their low to mid range motorcycles that are affordable and therefore attractive to the younger/novice rider. This ensures that motorcycling has a future. More companies should adopt this approach as it means that they also have a manufacturing future!
We have to remember that motorcycles were originally a form of transport for people that couldn't afford to run a car! With the rising fuel costs there is a good chance that history will repeat itself and if that is the case I would imagine some manufacturers are going to struggle, Harley D. being a good example!

Slightly cut back controls and gauges, tripper being optional / on the premium model etc. which is a great starting point. The Enfield line-up is well on the radar of newer riders - and especially the ladies. Relatively small and light, so manageable. I think they've really got this right. For me, it's the Scram 411. Hunter is way lighter a good 15 kg lighter, has 17 inch wheels and sharper steering angle so probably more nimble and it surely will be priced lower than it's siblings cause in India it is priced a good 10-20% lower than it's classic and meteor counterpart. And in India there will be two variants Retro and Metro while the Foreign countries only get the Metro, the retro variant is a base variant with spoke wheels and drum brakes in the rear but it looks stunning almost like it is directly from 70s or 80s...

Thanks for the heads-up Stu about the Hunter. Loving the promo vid RE have put out. It shows a somewhat younger generation having a very nice time on their bikes. Some might dismiss this vid as "twee" or "hipster" but I reckon, with it's Richard Hawley soundtrack is just what we all need at this moment - a bit of positivity. The bike? Gorgeous is what it is. I can see a few Meteor owners adding one or swapping. The slightly feet-forward riding position of the Meteor isn't to everyone's taste and the Classic 350 might be a touch too "old school" for some. This pretty little bike looks perfect. To me it's a mini Street Twin really. Like you I think smaller capacity bikes are going to become a lot more relevant as the new motoring policies bite. I think they'll do very well with the Hunter and the rest of the range. Honda must be kicking themselves not to have brought the "Hness" to the European Market. I'll bet the Hunter changes all that too 🤔😁

Thanks mate..good fun to watch..hilarious ad!! But hey, people buy things on dreams, and they just made one in that ad. That 350 engine is sweet, and sounds like a wee thumper should. And it's balanced, so not too vibey. It's a great-looking bike and I reckon it'll sell big time. The thing about people saying 350 is too small...blah..blah..the bike's for girls (don't get me started)..350 is a sweet spot. Small enough to be light and handy, big enough to keep up with traffic pretty much anywhere. It's going to get some love I think!! Ride safe everyone and love from NZ

If you have an engine that's a winner seems silly not to use it in as many models as possible. Hats off to RE for having a 350 model range that covers all demographics from those who love the classical (pun intended) to the hipster. As for the bike, I like the looks of it but still prefer the looks of the Meteor. Two things I noted; Brick Lane is a lot more upmarket now than I remember it in the 50s and 60s, no one would have used it as the setting for any sort of promo then; also, RE seem to have a Bell Bullitt clone helmet alongside their open face ones.

I was torn between looking at the bike and the very attractive blonde girl in the ad! 😁 The 35mm film camera also caught my attention 🤣 I absolutely agree with your comments here Stu. This is a very pretty and handsome bike. Ticking boxes left, right and centre. It certainly shoots an arrow through the gap between the Meteor and Classic 350. Adding further strength to their 350 range imo. My only concern is the increased 'cartoonising' of the Royal Enfield name. It smacks very much of what Austin Rover did with the MG name in the late 80's. Plastering segments of the Octagon brand in seemingly random bits over the sides of their Metros to try and appeal to a younger age group. The MG brand lost it's 'premium' dignity and disappeared for half a dozen years. Aside from this concern, the Hunter looks a great package imo 😃

The Hunter is easy, good looking, versatile, frugal, dependable, adequate and a real steal! It satisfied all my issues on height and weight, me being 165 cm & 66 kg. I think the Hunter looks great, especially the gunmetal grey version and I would be tempted if I hadn't bought the Scram. I believe that RE are way ahead of the curve with their development of these sub 500cc bikes, that most manufacturers have ignored for most markets, for too long, preferring to focus on bigger, faster and more expensive bikes that increasingly have less relevance on our roads. I see that Triumph are developing a 350 with Baja? However, it is predicted to be around £6,000. RE can do no wrong at the moment, despite the cries of not enough power from some circles.
