I rebuilt my cam ledges and set the timing and have had to take it apart a few times to verify that it all aligns but my car still won't start! I have noticed it doesn't seem like there's oil getting thrown up onto the top end when I take everything off and check. I just keep getting codes that my intake cam can't be found and I have checked the wiring, replaced the sensors and still have no luck. But the funny thing is when I first disassembled the top end after inserting the crank pin both cams were at the 11:50 position and I had to turn the crank every so slightly to instally cam lock tool to proceed with the teardown. Should I set the timing ever so slightly to just before TDC like how it was before?
Timing can always look a bit off, but you should verify all the timing marks with the cam locks and the crank locks, if those are all in the car should be at the correct tdc to run and you might have a different issue
@@ProjectRacecar2 yeah I mean I checked everything. Funny thing is it's been sitting for a few months and I tried to randomly start it and it wanted to turn over for once, even sputtered a bit but the battery needs to be charged
@@erikalvarez4516 I would charge the battery fully and give it a shot in the morning! I would make sure the cam sensors are seated correctly they are really easy to not have them seating right which won't cause it to read! It happened to me during the install
@@ProjectRacecar2 did it take a lot of pulling force to move the crank? I put the car in neutral and tried to move it but it didn’t budge. I took the sparks out to release the pressure.
@@ButteredPeanuts no it should be pretty easy, your wheels might be fighting it, turning the crank might be fighting the wheels on the ground I can't remember if I had the wheels up, but it should be a firm turn but maybe on 20ft pounds of turning
I've had some issues with the car that came into play, I haven't started the car yet to see if it's fixed! I am in the process of pulling the motor, but I'll post an update as soon as i try to start it!

Do you take off the serpentine belt to move the crankshaft?
Ummm you know I don't think I had mine off, you should be able to do it with the belt on!🙂
