    People should learn from him as much as they can. People like Dick Gregory are those who shape the world for the better, and they should never be ignored.

    Comedy can make us laugh ...but also inspire the world and change it into things that were never possible ... strange world we live in ... but humor is a gift of joy

    Saw him with my parents as a child in 60's. Discussed "crib death ". BRILLIANT!!!!!!! Have REVERED this Gentleman, ever since.

    @Popalongkid He meant he wouldn't physically pick up the money. I think he wouldn't do it because it would degrade his image in front of the audience, and that was part of his respect for them.

    Why is it important to know and learn about Dick Gregory?

      I think I know he ran for president in the 80's? He was an avid Black activist. I'm sure you can google his accomplishments and whatnot🤙🏾

    Hmm....? He didn`t pick up the tips up to hundreds of dollars and he was only making $5.00 a nite ? Dick , i love and respect you but you lost me on that one Brother . Still this man is an amazing human being and we are lucky to witness his experiences and learn from them . God Bless you Mr. Gregory

      It's the thing of respect, we have this attitude as a society that will accept anything and I think more so it's the principle.
      Somebody was trying to give me something once and they threw it at me and when they did that I immediately became offended even though it was something I wanted I threw it back at them.
      This is part of the lesson I see in what he's saying there.
      And I'm mad we like his money better pick that up but there's a such thing as our dignity too unfortunately most of us have none.
