try having a few of the raiders/defenders record their povs so you can cut to what they see every now and then. also, i think it would be cool if you had like an MVP for each team based on kills/rockets fired and shout them out at the end of the video

The only real thing he knows is the skill of the defenders, but the skill of the attackers could vary a lot and they obviously aren't organised at all. He wants the video to be close, and if the defenders where given that many kits and not restricted in certain ways, they would just win easily. Tough one to manage, I always don't really like on the fly balancing such as saying that the TC is destroyed, deploying MLRS when the attackers are losing etc, but it makes the video more entertaining

So its really a game of balancing, and I agree that the balancing could of been a bit more fair but let's say they gave them 25 defenders here, I think the defenders would of won, so not really that much difference would be required to switch the match up

It was about 10 FPS the entire time, but it was still so fun, I think in the intro I was the nomad hazmat near the front, jumping on the heads on the platform, one thing I will say, was the raider kits werent all there at first, they were slowly trickled in, which I feel added to the raid, having more resources at it went on Edit: I FOUND MEEE.. at 27:24, the burlap in line with a rock, named "The Schoodster" IS MEEEE

Great video, Sir I have one or two issues. When there is one force that has a 10 to 1 advantage it should not also receive added intel on the defenders how far into the base or if they are mad, nor given advice on tactics to implement. If you are going to give aid to one the same must be given to the other. This of corse is just my opinion. To both teams great jobs. Again great video.

I’m an avid max mears watcher. I feel like watching events of this size is watching pure chaos. I much prefer when you were doing the smaller and more skilled challenges where it was possible to actually tell what was happening play-by-play instead of generally.
You have to stop giving the raiders instructions. They already outnumber the defenders and have endless amounts of boom, and yet every once in a while you come along to rally them and give them marching orders about working together and pushing. What exactly is the point of watching these if you're clearly helping one side? And continuing to watch until the end you also straight up tell the raiders that they forgot their objective. What even is this?
I agree except about telling the raiders they forgot the eggs. The raiders need to know how to actually win otherwise the event isn't organized well enough. But he should have made it clear to every participant of the raid what the rules are and how to win. If he did make it clear to everyone then he didn't need to tell them again and it was their fault for not taking them

I like most of these videos but the defenders have no chance if you’re constantly helping the raiders, maybe if you were mlrsing the raid base instead of the china wall after the raiders are already deep into the base it would be better content. Rather than loading 200 raiders onto the 20 defenders then semi informing them on where they should be attacking from and doubling initial rockets then also air striking the defending base you just spectate the whole thing and get reactions from discord neutrally with occasional air strikes on both sides to add interest it would be more enjoyable for the viewer.

Then once the raid began, you were giving tips to the raiders telling them to split off and go in via other sides, i understand they were doing that anyway, but throughout the entire raid you kept repeating it? Like you are meant to be the referee not the leader. And then of course you gave away the position of the egg by telling the raiders that they had practically already blown through the TC, you tried to make it seem as though you weren’t straight up telling them but you practically were. Then when the defenders tried moving the eggs you told them no and moved them back? like bro what? If you hadn’t been so biased from the beginning the raid would have been much more entertaining but all i could think throughout watching the whole video was, this is so unfair. Think would be dope to somehow make this into a tournament, defenders are the competitors points for things like time taken for raid, kills, longest survival time for a defender, fob's destroyed and lives used, each clan/team gets 2 attempts at it best scoring session is what counts for you, can do group stages of 4s, top 2 from each progress, then top of group 1 vs second group 2 etc
These videos just need a bit more structure behind them. It’s awesome doing fully player events (no yt or twitch streamers) but they also provide leadership and coordination. This is the true rust experience

You should have people send in their 'Epic Moments' if they recorded anything, awesome and you should put it at the end of the video, put it in various parts of the video, or make a new video. With 200+ people playing, there's got to be some epic stuff.
That video had so much potential - so many high points I could go through but honestly it just felt more and more sour as the video went on. If you want to give your 2 cents on what everybody should do - then actually do it as a part of the event. Don't create something and admin it while pestering everyone as an armchair referee or hand holding people who observationally didn't need it.
You should be using your own custom server. A) For server CPU: 1) If the server client is single thread limited and cache latency/bandwidth sensitive you should be using either a binned 7800X3D or a binned 7950X3D with only the X3D CCD enabled. 2) If the server client is multithread limited than the biggest/fastest CPU is best. 3) If the server client is single thread limited and not cache sensitive than you should be using a binned 14900KS with only P cores enabled (e cores disabled) If the server client is heavily cache limited you could see possibly 80% faster performance with an X3D CPU over none X3D. If it isn't cache dependent the Intel CPU would be drastically faster than AMDs especially if zero or sub zero cooled. B) The server should be single or double phase cooled and overclocked as high as possible. This will allow you about 200-400 MHz higher overclock frequency. C) For server RAM 1) If the server client is bandwidth sensitive you will want as many channels and as high as bandwidth as possible. BUT it is more likely latency dependent so, 2) If the server client is memory latency dependent you will want the lowest RAM latency possible in this case if the CPU can use DDR4 that would be preferred since DDR5 latency is still really bad. If you ran the phase cooled server in a chilled box you would be able to get really clever and aggressive with RAM overclocking and tuning. D) You would want to use an Optane drive as OS/program drive to ensure lowest latency and best QoS assuming you don't run the server client completely in RAM. This is exactly what I would do if I got around to making my private high pop ark server and it would work just as good for a Rust server. I also guarantee you this server would easily be 2 times or probably even 3 or more times faster than whatever dodgy game server provider you are using. Most of those places run really crappy speced servers and highly overloaded. This would make an unbelievable difference in quality of play!
I like the idea of the time lapses but i think a nice QOL change could be adding a timer to show the amount of time that passes. It kind of got hard to track.

In the event that the raiders take control, you just blow it and foundy wipe the entire tower so at least they can't have it! Also, clearly not needed in this scenario, but I would love to see part of the team of raiders throw down the 'get kits' tactic! 3-5 people just bringing kits back out for the raiders to use!
Vid idea. do a vid where it's 10 teams of 10 or what ever number u want and then have them make there bases then team up and raid the others one at a time and then give them unlimited rockets and who ever survives the longest wins
crazy idea. 20 raiders and 8 defenders. a 100 hour player 1000 hour player and a 10000 player all build a base in 2 hours and the 20 raiders try to raid it. the 8 defenders and the builder all defend it like a gauntlet of rust bases
Max you forgot the most important 5-10 ppl to invite to make an absolutly top notch video... video is great still.. but a suggestion for next video.. invite 5-10 others that are not meant to compete, but just there to provide more pov's.. like adding more camera men to a movie set.. then get them to send you the footage then collected.. good ratio is 1 pov filmer for every 20 players
I haven't finished it yet and just watching the build phase and I 100% think the defenders will win because the amount of stuff they have built....I don't see any way the attackers will have enough boom to break through. If the raiders could farm resources I could see them possibly winning. If on their island they could dedicate like 50 players to farming and crafting boom. I could see a chance of them winning but short of that....they have no chance. This defense building is way too dense and well done IMHO, plus you got to count turrets EDIT: Okay so the attackers do not technically have a hard cap on how many rockets they get like it said in the beginning. The OP actually gave them more. That makes a huge difference and gave them a huge chance of winning like I said above. It also looked like they had resources that could be used to make more explosives and stuff. So they didn't actually have any real deficit in boom boom things. Also those bases melted a lot easier than I was expecting. I thought those walls took way more rocket shocks than it did. Quit interesting watching how that battle took place. I also actually think that base honey come was actually more damaging than good because they defenders actually couldn't see and shoot the enemy. I think that honey comb made it much harder to defend and easier for the raiders to tunnel and sneak pass the defenders. I wonder if they did no honeycomb and left it open it would have been easier to see and kill the enemy and more successfully defend? The honey combing would absolutely been a good strategy if the raiders didn't have enough boom to tunnel but they clearly did. I also didn't think about them getting access to the enemy caches of weapons as well.
amazing video; reminded me I was not yet subscribed for some reason but I quickly corrected that.. I got one very vital piece of feedback if I may say; I mean don't get me wrong it's great the Live commentary you're giving and having the video recorded in real time is also great, yet I feel there are so so many great details missed in all the chaos especially in a raid this big; what I would like to see is more POV and more importantly more edited content where many spectators "preferably people with a good talent for videography" are taking different footage from all different angles and close-ups of encounters etc, the potential is literally endless to get so much "extended" footage and analysis/commentary and so on.. I would love to take part in any of this also so hmu
I'm only halfway in the video, before the attack starts but I think that the Defenders messed up by not placing several concentric rings of metal barricades and other obstacles around the Outer Perimeter. They shouldn't have built right up to the tree line, it's going to spread them too thin defending and too easy for the attackers to build in. They should have turned the entire outer 1/4 of the dirt circle into a wasteland of death overlooked by a shooting floor with peaks not open to the tree line, just the dirt area. I guess I'll restart the video now and see how the attack goes.

I feeeeeeel like admin helped the attackers a little too much.
You should have people send in their 'Epic Moments' if they recorded anything, awesome and you should put it at the end of the video, put it in various parts of the video, or make a new video. With 200+ people playing, there's got to be some epic stuff.
Helping 200 raiders is crazy
That video had so much potential - so many high points I could go through but honestly it just felt more and more sour as the video went on. If you want to give your 2 cents on what everybody should do - then actually do it as a part of the event. Don't create something and admin it while pestering everyone as an armchair referee or hand holding people who observationally didn't need it.
You should be using your own custom server.
A) For server CPU:
1) If the server client is single thread limited and cache latency/bandwidth sensitive you should be using either a binned 7800X3D or a binned 7950X3D with only the X3D CCD enabled.
2) If the server client is multithread limited than the biggest/fastest CPU is best.
3) If the server client is single thread limited and not cache sensitive than you should be using a binned 14900KS with only P cores enabled (e cores disabled)
If the server client is heavily cache limited you could see possibly 80% faster performance with an X3D CPU over none X3D. If it isn't cache dependent the Intel CPU would be drastically faster than AMDs especially if zero or sub zero cooled.
B) The server should be single or double phase cooled and overclocked as high as possible. This will allow you about 200-400 MHz higher overclock frequency.
C) For server RAM
1) If the server client is bandwidth sensitive you will want as many channels and as high as bandwidth as possible.
BUT it is more likely latency dependent so,
2) If the server client is memory latency dependent you will want the lowest RAM latency possible in this case if the CPU can use DDR4 that would be preferred since DDR5 latency is still really bad.
If you ran the phase cooled server in a chilled box you would be able to get really clever and aggressive with RAM overclocking and tuning.
D) You would want to use an Optane drive as OS/program drive to ensure lowest latency and best QoS assuming you don't run the server client completely in RAM.
This is exactly what I would do if I got around to making my private high pop ark server and it would work just as good for a Rust server. I also guarantee you this server would easily be 2 times or probably even 3 or more times faster than whatever dodgy game server provider you are using.
Most of those places run really crappy speced servers and highly overloaded. This would make an unbelievable difference in quality of play!

I like the idea of the time lapses but i think a nice QOL change could be adding a timer to show the amount of time that passes. It kind of got hard to track.

So... are the defenders allowed to place RF C4 on their external towers/bases? In the event that the raiders take control, you just blow it and foundy wipe the entire tower so at least they can't have it!
Also, clearly not needed in this scenario, but I would love to see part of the team of raiders throw down the 'get kits' tactic! 3-5 people just bringing kits back out for the raiders to use!

Vid idea. do a vid where it's 10 teams of 10 or what ever number u want and then have them make there bases then team up and raid the others one at a time and then give them unlimited rockets and who ever survives the longest wins
crazy idea. 20 raiders and 8 defenders. a 100 hour player 1000 hour player and a 10000 player all build a base in 2 hours and the 20 raiders try to raid it. the 8 defenders and the builder all defend it like a gauntlet of rust bases

Max you forgot the most important 5-10 ppl to invite to make an absolutly top notch video... video is great still.. but a suggestion for next video.. invite 5-10 others that are not meant to compete, but just there to provide more pov's.. like adding more camera men to a movie set.. then get them to send you the footage then collected.. good ratio is 1 pov filmer for every 20 players

I haven't finished it yet and just watching the build phase and I 100% think the defenders will win because the amount of stuff they have built....I don't see any way the attackers will have enough boom to break through.
If the raiders could farm resources I could see them possibly winning. If on their island they could dedicate like 50 players to farming and crafting boom. I could see a chance of them winning but short of that....they have no chance.
This defense building is way too dense and well done IMHO, plus you got to count turrets
EDIT: Okay so the attackers do not technically have a hard cap on how many rockets they get like it said in the beginning. The OP actually gave them more. That makes a huge difference and gave them a huge chance of winning like I said above. It also looked like they had resources that could be used to make more explosives and stuff. So they didn't actually have any real deficit in boom boom things.
Also those bases melted a lot easier than I was expecting. I thought those walls took way more rocket shocks than it did. Quit interesting watching how that battle took place.
I also actually think that base honey come was actually more damaging than good because they defenders actually couldn't see and shoot the enemy. I think that honey comb made it much harder to defend and easier for the raiders to tunnel and sneak pass the defenders.
I wonder if they did no honeycomb and left it open it would have been easier to see and kill the enemy and more successfully defend? The honey combing would absolutely been a good strategy if the raiders didn't have enough boom to tunnel but they clearly did.
I also didn't think about them getting access to the enemy caches of weapons as well.

amazing video; reminded me I was not yet subscribed for some reason but I quickly corrected that.. I got one very vital piece of feedback if I may say; I mean don't get me wrong it's great the Live commentary you're giving and having the video recorded in real time is also great, yet I feel there are so so many great details missed in all the chaos especially in a raid this big; what I would like to see is more POV and more importantly more edited content where many spectators "preferably people with a good talent for videography" are taking different footage from all different angles and close-ups of encounters etc, the potential is literally endless to get so much "extended" footage and analysis/commentary and so on.. I would love to take part in any of this also so hmu

I'm only halfway in the video, before the attack starts but I think that the Defenders messed up by not placing several concentric rings of metal barricades and other obstacles around the Outer Perimeter. They shouldn't have built right up to the tree line, it's going to spread them too thin defending and too easy for the attackers to build in. They should have turned the entire outer 1/4 of the dirt circle into a wasteland of death overlooked by a shooting floor with peaks not open to the tree line, just the dirt area. I guess I'll restart the video now and see how the attack goes.
