- The Zero is available as both a self-build and factory built option. Here is an overview and example of a customer’s Single Donor Mazda based Zero self build which is soon to be registered and enjoyed on the road.
You can select from a variety of Zero Self build packages to suit all budgets from our starter kit through to a complete kit of components that can be assembled easily by yourself. The GBS Zero range is available as right hand or left-hand drive and as a Standard width or GT (grand tourer /wide body) chassis option, which allows greater access and a more comfortable seating position for the taller/larger driver.
The Mazda based Zero kit leverages the proven design features of the Ford based Zero adapted for a Mazda donor. The Mazda MX5 (Miata) serves perfectly as a donor, and is readily available worldwide with over 900,000 donor cars produced.
The Mazda MX5 donor Zero utilises (Mk1, Mk2, Mk2.5) from 1989 through 2005 in either right or left hand drive.
There are a range of optional extras and upgrades available along the way, so you will be building a truly individual sports car that is unique and bespoke to you. Visit our Zero Self Build page to see more details on the Zero Self build options that we offer, or contact us and one of the team will be able to advise you.

I really enjoyed the 10+ minutes of silence at the end. Very meditative. 7:36
Which is the best naturally aspirated Duratec, the 2.0, 2.3 or 2.5? it seems the 2.0 is a more free revving engine but obviously obviously the bigger capacity develops more torque. The 2.3 the best of both worlds?
We use and stock all 3 engines through our parts website Kit Spares ( www.kitspares.co.uk ). We have the 2.5 in our Zero demonstrator which is fantastic, but like you say 2.3 is in-between and gives the best of both. Does a stock intake manifold and non vvt engine fit inside a stock bonnet?
This bonnet shown in the video has been modified with our bonnet scoop that we offer. The Standard bonnet is just flat or available with louvers. The bonnet Scoop and other products are available from our parts website Kit Spares - www.kitspares.co.uk

@@manulemelin6904 Yes a non vvt engine will fit without the scoop, we don’t use the standard inlet manifold we use throttle bodies.
