There's a treasure trove of music from that era like this and better. Funny thing...oldies all of a sudden becomes "cool" to my grandkids when one of today's groups gets their version on the radio. Then I explain to them that the REAL song was created before their parents were born. :)

This was a HUGE hit in '66 and rightly so. "Rock" music was evolving very rapidly with new sounds, recording techniques, lyrics and melodies every week; these guys were pioneers in many ways. We liked how they looked and sounded as much as The Byrds, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Mamas and Papas, etc.

You might like those old videos but this isn't one of them. .Notice there is no cord coming from the guitar. There are no visible cords, microphones, or amplifiers. At 1:13 Sebastian looks around as if to say, "How do I fake this part?"

Just wow!!! I was 17 in August 1966.We were driving around in a 1959 Impala convertible, top down and 95 degrees in the middle of a heat wave! This came on the tinny sounding AM radio and all of us in the car simply loved it.That was an era of simply magical music. Coming from every genre. The Beatles,The Rascals,The Byrds,Kinks,Beach Boys,so many more who can count! That doesn’t even begin to star talking about the Motown Sound. We had no idea how lucky we were to have the experience of listening to such groundbreaking music,it truly helped us cope with a world full of war, race riots, assassinations etc.We really need it now

We've always had to put up with mediocre and bad music but we don't have to buy it or listen to it. Some people have sensitive ears. If I hear bad music I usually just switch it off at the source. I'll have a listen to your suggestion.. Syd Sister.
