@@TimtotheWild Your own music? That is insane Tim! It's funny because I was so surprised that despite the raw (emotionally) feeling of each shot I found myself focusing on the music as if it were the real story. I see now I was actually watching your feelings as they happened; translated through your own music. Really incredible, thank you for creating this :)
Holy SHIT! JUST DISCOVERED THIS DUDE. HE DID THE OWN MUSIC ALSO?! That's INSANE. A true artistic genius. I call them when I see them. Really in awe of this work.
Good insight, thanks for the help! Definitely keeping this in mind while shooting/crafting a video. Match the emotion to the type of shot, I need to remember that more.
For some reason just 10 min ago I thought need to find that guy, that tells a story through videos. Checked his profile, no new video uploaded for 5 months. Refreshed the page and here I am. Universe works in very strange ways.
@@MustafaAlNuaimi I guess so. A lot of things happening right now. I think of some people and in few hours or days later they appear right next to me. Still don't understand how it works and I think I won't. Maybe it's for the good.
one thing that always strikes me about your films is everything, everywhere, will always have similarities to home. the beaches, the views, the bustling cities- everything. you make places that are perceived to be outlandish- like bali- feel like home. thank you.
It is actually crazy how much the world and myself has changed since I first saw this 5 years ago. This is giving me the feeling of "empty-happiness", love your work Tim!
One of the reasons why I enjoy TH-cam more than other platforms. Meritocracy where any type of unusual content can rise to the top. Absolutely loved this.
I couldn't figure out what it was about your videos that hit me so much. Obviously the sound design, the choice of shots, the mood, it was all part of it, but I'm pretty sure it's also the fact that you religiously protect highlights and NEVER have anything blown out. If you have to sacrifice something for the sake of keeping yourself in the dynamic range you have, you'll sacrifice shadows. It makes everything look dark, but beautiful. I know many people do this, but I think the best I've seen is Roger Deakins and this really reminds me of his work. Lots to learn from you, and I hope everyone does.
I come back to watch this work of art at least once a year. It’s been five years and it is still one of the best filmography of Asia I have ever seen. I dream of dreams in Asia 🤍
You're an absolute master, Tim. Every shot is so beautiful. You're a huge inspiration for me - especially a few years ago when I first started making short little travel videos edited to music. I watch them back now and I can see your influence there so clearly. Thanks for that :) keep on!
Seeing your video-shorts pop up in an occasionally random fashion is the best. You just never know when one will appear. Hard to find the words to describe your art form. I love the aesthetic and how it evokes both emotion and a dream like sense. Really impressive. Looking forward to the next shoot.
This has to be the most beautiful and atmospheric video I have ever seen. Totally amazed and entranced by the music, colors, and unique edit of this video. I could watch it on repeat for hours and still feel in love with it every single time.
Replaying the video kind makes it feel like watching the extended version. Your ability to make us feel through your videos is remarkable and I thank you.
Just.... Beautiful piece of art. So simple but in the same time so on point. Each video makes me think about my life. Music... what can I say, I have it looped in the car.
i think its the gh5, since he has put it in one of his vids that are as recent as this one i guess. but im not sure, from the looks of it. id say a gh5 aswell.
Jacob Christiansen yes and no. You obviously wouldn’t be able to get this kind of quality with a canon 70D. It’s not 4K, it’s 8bit, doesn’t have the space to color grade the way this is. Plus it wouldn’t have the same dynamic range either. But with all that said, some COULD shoot something very similar with a canon 70D.
the way you put everything together is so simple yet sooo powerful. Not too overwhelming like a lot of the other travel films people like to make nowadays. You capture everything so pure and that is something I've loved about your films since day 1. ALSO, the slow shutter speed in Tokyo was such a great touch! reminded me of one of my favorite films Lost in Translation by Sofia Coppola. Killing it always Tim! All love
What we really enjoy about your films is that you always deliver a really good story just through the music and visuals alone. It's refreshing to see your films again. I feel like a lot of TH-cam filmmakers are caught up in the bells and whistles of transitions whereas you always bring it back to the basics. I still remember the days back in 2015 when you used to shoot with the Sony RX100.
I can never quite explain how your art makes me feel! The way you capture moments, sounds, sites, all of it! Just makes me feel like I'm right there with you and makes even the smallest experiences seem extraordinarily bigger than ourselves!
the voice samples are so beautiful. still in awe that you create all your own music for your videos. sooooooo goood
Thank you. I remember meeting you at Buffer Festival years ago. Glad to see you're doing well

Awesome, dude! I always love how you capture dark, yet peaceful, scenes in beautiful quality! 👌

Need to do another one soon
Of?!😅
Gorgeous gorgeous shots, jelly of your trip together

Thank you !!
He did an amazing job!
true
The camera movements are always so natural + perfect. With the over use of gimbals it's nice to see Tim always keeping to his amazing style
I agree completely.
Definitely agree

And I thought it was a real water before I read this comment
Tim Kellner where is this shot in Kyoto taken?
This shot is absolutely awesome. Where in Kyoto was this?

Who is here because of Eva
Absolutely beautiful... I'm really glad I stumbled upon this by chance, truly.
Does anyone know which camera and lenses he uses?
last time i remember it was a panasonic gh5 with at least a 135mm or 100mm, but that was in a video about 2 years ago, so i dunno anymore
Doesn’t matter. It’s his skills. Nothing else

Dario Alessio it might even be the GH5S because the movement feels more handheld without the IBIS.
In april he posted on twitter that he was still using the GH5, think you're right.
