Many Englishmen (and Australians and Americans) like to go to pubs and drink beer so that they can talk to strangers. Often, strangers in a pub act like friends and talk with each other. The chatting (聊天) is more important than the beer. Sometimes I go to a bar with friends to chat, and just drink a cola (I don't use alcohol).
This is something interesting to me. If I go to a pub, i don’t normally talk to strangers. If I only talk to my partner, I don’t need to go to a pub and drink beers. But interestingly, when in pubs, we do talk about different things comparing when we are at home. I guess the major reasons that I don’t want to go is that I don’t like beers that much and they are so expensive!!

Haha I loved this video. I'm Australian and my husband is Chinese and can totally relate to things like he thinks many places here look the same, wouldn't go camping in them (or really camping at all "why would you go camping when you have a perfectly good house? Or have a picnic on the ground when you can eat at a table?")
Hahahah I guess I’m not a typical Chinese then, I still like camping simply because so I can read and cook without checking social medias at all 😂😂😂I also love picnic, I even went to picnic on my own 😂 but I know where your husband is coming from 😆
I could understand more than I expected from this video despite myself still being a complete beginner (i.e. less than 100 hours since I don't speak a language related to Mandarin). This video was really good. It would have been even better without the pinyin.
