Around 9 mins when she just sits ticking over is wonderfull. Love old Hemis, couldn't care less if this is not much more than an anchor in power to weight/displacement in modern times, they sound epic and the build quality for the era was outstanding. A few smart mods and you can still extract cracking torque numbers from an enigne platform that was cast over 60 years ago, torque that is everywhere the engine can rev to. 10/10 Brent, love it.

Yes! I'd be keen on one in this condition for my Toyota. Good size with the right carburetion will make for good economy from the 4.5 litres of Hemi engine.

Love seeing an engine that has not run in years come alive again. It amazing to see Brent do with one hand what most people can not do with two hands. Great video with different projects in the oven keeps us watching.

I'm fairly sure 318/360 and a lot of other later model small block bellhousings fit that block. Might be easier to adapt a trans. Like that mopar 4 speed would be a bolt on. But I'm old, might be forgetting some details ;)

A lot of LA V8 engine parts will fit the 270,325,Red ram etc .Bearings etc. I have made little adaptors to run LA (273-360 engines) oil pumps etc. I think the first Deuce coupe to run 140 MPH on the salt was Dodge hemi powered.

I spent hours and hours in a skid steerer. Higher operating at high rpm saves wear and tear on pump. Makes for a bit of herby jerry but the more you operate the smoother you get.

    Greetings from northen Sweden.
That Hemi sounds so nice,, imagine the the blower on top of that 🤣
I was just thinking,, what the heck is a lovejoy?
Here we call that a Hardy-Disc as far as I know. During my mechanics years that's all I heard them called.
I guess you can't get the mechanic out of the person as I have just spent 3 hours on the fuel system on my sons - 67 Ford Transit,, he had to help out of course.
    Stay safe and take care.

My bad back in the day my dad had a coupe with a flathead in it and when he first saw these hemis he was absolutely shocked he told me. He had put Blood Sweat and Tears into his flat head and this new Hemi made as much horsepower stock. He told me that he was a Ford guy through and through and couldn't bring himself the buying a new motor. He told me that Ardun heads were available but cost prohibited. His last project before he passed was a 29 Ford chopped channeled but still no Arden heads

I have the same 270 Hemi as yours and put a three speed all synchro trans on it from a late 70s Dodge 318. I just had to enlarge the hole in the bell, and drill and tap 4 holes. It was very easy to do. It will now accept the A833 four speed box as well. A Saginaw will not work. The input shaft is too short. You need a Mopar gearbox with the longer input shaft.

I've used the rag coupler off a steering system before with some good results.... they don't like oil and give up after a good soaking sometimes. Love seeing the old hemi's get rescued before turning into iron sinkers for pond fishing. I should know but just don't remember, did anyone ever use the hemi head design on their engine besides Chrysler as it buzzes my brain that there was. In american cars as I never got into the foreign scene. I also have used "saw gas" or two cycle mix to start them as that little bit of oil does make a difference at times. Can't complain about that one starting good as it did some fussing but soon as the valves got some oil on them and the seats nocked the carbon and spiders out they just love to run. I watched a first start on here and when it didn't run they did pull the heads off and found a dead mouse on top of a cylinder... I call "staged" on something like that if the top of the valves are still there. I can believe them coming out of the tailpipe. I may hate mice but suffering and dying on a cylinder head is just "how could it squeeze in there" and if he got in... why did he stay?? Sure has been cold but no snow to measure, got about a inch last night but don't expect much more to come. Have a good one Brent. I meant to mention that one of the other channels, don't remember the name of it but he has a truck called puddin and he mentioned your name and channel on being a good to go channel... I know thats not much but didn't think to mark it so I could forward that to you... I know that you like to thank people for getting the name and channel out there.
