This video makes me miss single car/single lap qualifying F1 had from '03-'05. I loved being able to watch a Minardi or Jordan for a lap and then compare it to a Ferrari or Mclaren right after. It really gave you a sense of how they're making up the time.
@@Jadenboiiii the original 130r existed until 2002, before they made changes. Alonso wasn't even on the grid, so stop making that up lol. Unless you're telling me that Alonso took that corner flat out in a Minardi in 2001? Haha
@@Jadenboiiii Almost Everyone took it flat from 2003, as the inside of the corner was moved outwards, so it was an easier corner. In fact I'm sure Alonso and almost every car on the grid took it absolutely flat.
Particularity of that f1 of the 2002 is the gearbox. Full automatic shift, that the reason of the very quick shift up and down. Impossible for a pilot to do the same. The next year in 2003 the manual shifting come back.
If a constructor is gone and it is at the same time like a factory, where are their cars? I'm thinking there: Arrows, Toyota, BAR, Jaguar, Minardi, Sauber
From my point, the car can be 4 seconds slower than today, but the drivers would have to do a lot more work on the steering wheel, like here, simply spectacular
It is crazy watching them handle the corners so easily compared to nowadays cars that can fall off the corner with no outside interference really easy. They just stick to the road all the time under power with the broad rpm range.
Wow,u can see how unstable the Saubers,Minardis and Jordans were,no wonder it was almost impossible for their drivers to get some points back in those days
That's because they used rebadged Ferrari engines from the previous year, for budget reasons. So not only the engines were a little obsolete, they were also de-tuned to last longer.
@@RandomDuude probably but those saubers were darn quick at straight line based tracks. Particularly at Monza where their straight line speed was up there with the ferrari.
The Renault is incredibly nicely screaming🫠 and the Minardi PS02 already sounds slow bruh. My personal fav is the Arrows A23 with the Cosworth CR-4 engine, what a beautiful car with beautiful sound.
That year all the cars haved an 100% automatic transmission with a terrify gear change. Most intelligent than a pilot. Look at the begin of the video at 00:07 with Montoya, impossible for a human change the gears like this!
Before Hermann Tilke flooded F1with his insipid ''Racetracks''. Admittedly the A1/Red Bull Ring was the first of his tracks, and it is insipid, but at least the scenery was nice there. The other Tilke track, Sepang was great.
i used to think that recent f1 driver is much more better then old days driver, but not anymore. seeing all this pov from old f1, i think yea, maybe schumacher truly is goat, compare with hamilton, verstappen, leclerc, vettel and so on. the old f1 car may not be fast in corner but they are really fast in straight, and that what make it difficult, that monster speed, when you need to brake before entering corner, and make an adjustment through the mid corner a little slip up, the other f1 car would just smoke you, since the old engine so monster to accelerate. when the v6 driver make a mistake but during the acceleration, the behind car wont get loss so much. the v10 single mistake, and bye2 catching up. and of course the old f1 have smaller wheelbase, making overtaking more easier, so its much of a fight compare today f1 where the behind driver just have to wait the front to make mistake. old f1 get slipstream and the front driver made wrong corner trajectory and bye2 mate, you just got overtake.

Ahh! The good ole days of F1, proper V10 sounds and glitchy onboard cameras.
i miss the good old days. F1 now sucks so much
King Louie how does f1 suck today?
The cars from 1998 to 2016 were butt ugly.
But not as ugly as they are now.
johnny fartpants i think they look better than the rest in 2019
But slow cars
the original 80's turbo era and the 2000's V10 era were the best F1 racing ever.
true.
You can feel the adrenaline when you listen to this sweet V10 music!
Ah them v10 engines they’re fantastic
God bless these sounds!
Loved that sound. I’m lucky enough to have attended The USGP at Indy, I heard those beautiful engines scream. I saw Michael win.

19,000 rpm... It's amazing to think that these superb engines could survive two whole hours of such torture.
Mclaren's engine sounds from the early 2000/late 90's were my all time favourite.

The original 130r - probably the most daunting corner in F1 at the time.
The only driver that could take the original 130r flat out was Schumacher. Only just, in the perfect conditions.
